With nine regular cast, there's oh, er, um, 81 different possible interactions, so there's bound to be some that we haven't seen muchof-
e,g chakotay and the Doctor

Obviously Chakotay and Seven of Nine, which is kind of ironic since they end up together in the end of the show.
The Doctor and Tuvok had a minimal amount of screen time.
Seven of Nine and Tom Paris also had a minimal amount.

- which is why the whole romantic aspect makes no sense in the first place.

- even with their minor relations, i think they had an interesting relationship. I would have liked to have seen more of that one.
How bout Tuvok and B'Elanna?

Kes and Torres.
But they did cooperate very good in the excellent book "The Black Shore". I really wish that they had made an episode of that book. It's brilliant!

36 actually, but ... you were close
One cannot date one's self, and 1 dating 3 is the same as 3 dating 1, so there are only 36 possible interactions...the formula for a 2 variable non-inclusive result (in case anyone cares to check) is:
Total number, X, times X-1 and divide result by number of variables...(x(x-1))/2, where x=9, comes out to 36

I thought Chakotay and Seven had a lot of underused time together, also Seven and Tom, and the Doctor and Chakotay. But after a while, Chakotay towards the end of the show just became an underused character all together.

7 of 9 was rather overused in Season 4.
Chakotay and Kes had minimal screentime. In fact, Chakotay didnt spent much time with anyone except Janeway, Paris, Harry Kim and Neelix a bit, and Tuvok and Torres

I think Janeway and Torres. Sure they had their scenes where they were butting heads and that but the other side, the nurturing side wasn't shown as much.

It seemed like they had some fair time together in the first few seasons.
I'm kind of disappointed that it seems like after 7 of 9 came onto the show, it seemed like Janeway's relationship with everyone else got even less air-time.
That being said, I would have liked to see more of Janeway and the Doctor. My two favorite characters .

Tuvok + Doc = lengthy and intriguing discussions on logic and human behaviour, I could watch hours of such encounters.

Interesting topic.
In terms of romantic relationships, I thought Seven and Icheb (both former borg) should have been tried. Instead of that stupid Belanna and Icheb attempt on one episode.
Tom and Belanna was WAY WAY overdone. Should have been a break-up end of S6 - start of S7 and she go out with Harry to stir controversy between Tom and Harry.
Doc and Seven a little overdone.
Kes and any male just seemed strange somehow.
Janeway and Tuvok romantic would have been interesting.

I disagree on the Doc and Seven, mostly because nothing ever came of it. I thought it was very well done in terms of a subtle mentor/pupil relationship that grew a bit.
The problem with Tuvok is that he's married and very faithful to his wife (the episode when he went into pon farr...), and I got the impression that their relationship was one of mutual respect and trust rather than any romantic implications.

Yes, I agree about Janeway andTuvok.
However, they wrote Tuvok being married into it, ruling that ot.
More of Neelix and Doc would have been interesting
