--Northern California, Earth--
Quote: | Aia took the swing, spun it, and fixed a blow towards the right side of his waist. She kept herself calm, her muscles tense--but not too much so. The life from all around her gave her strength, focus. She could feel the life force in the twigs beneath her feet, giving her an agility she'd never felt. His power could not expand, should he die. The world he would be forced into was too balanced, too good to support the depth of evil he'd called to his soul. |
In a swift motion Imperator Obsidian parried Aias blow to his right, twisting his saber around with great force, thereby releasing their connection. The Dark Lord then reached up his left hand and, using his powers, force her back with an overcoming power. He walked powerfully over to her, his laser sword pointed out a downward angle and an angry expression spread across his lips. Give up, Aia, he said. You cant win. Realize this, recognize this - accept this fact. Give up and join me. This is your last chance.
Aia tensed, hesitated, and swallowed as the pain lashed at her mind and body at once. Bodies and blood of her people, of all the people even he had killed, the pain of her mother's death, Tevan, the brutality she had suffered by virtue of living on Turkana. She breathed deeply.
"Thank you," she said too softly. Too, too softly, that it was lost and twisted in the wind. Only the look on her face could convey the words. Other words ran through her head.
HIT ME! OH! OH THANK YOU! THIS IS GREAT! Energy, energy, energy from his hatred, from the memories. Not dark energy. Not light. Just energy, that she could turn into her own power. Earth, wind, fire, water, the four elements that were their own shade of grey. She channeled the mal-intent into the elements, and then released.
Fito was caught by a powerful wind off guard, the rain swirled around him, twisting in the spirals of nature, each one a reflection of the spirals in the body. One caught his wrist, twisted in a koetagaeshi, and with a greater strength than Aia had in her body, tossed him down with a hard thwap, the needles polarized to point at his body.
His lightsaber gone out of his hand, the rain running hard upon it, several feet away, the man formerly known as Fito was on the ground, stomach pressed hard against the surface. Attempting to regain his bearings, the Imperator extended his right arm, hand open, calling upon the deactivated weapon with the Energy. Using his powers, the Dark Lord recalled it to his hand. Flipping upward, he immediately regained his standing behind his previous location, weapon held at a ready position.
Indeed you are potent, he said, darkly. But that will not help you. Extending his left arm, right arm in a defensive position with his sword, the Imperator closed his eyes and, reaching out, called upon the might of the storm, allowing it to enhance his natural electromagnetic abilities. As a result, a surge of lightning shot out of his finger tips, ramming right into the Starfleet officer, causing her to lose her hold of her weapon and fall back, hitting against the trunk of a great tree. He opened his eyes, smiling, continuing his electromagnetic assault.
Aia gasped for breath, the pain lancing every nerve in her body, lost for a moment in its cloud. She gritted her teeth and concentrated harder and harder, focusing the pain out of her fingertips, and a spark caught. She struggled to look down at her fingertips. She had channeled his own energy through her body. Through the pain she shifted, reaching out her hands and sending a wave back at Fito, five times the strength at which he had sent it.
The response from Aia was astounding to the Dark Lord. Her power was great, and quite overwhelming. She had trained herself to focus energy, whether it be dark or light, to respond with brute force to even the greatest of enemy assaults. As the surge was shot back in his direction with far greater force than he had shot towards her, the Imperator flew back, ramming hard against a tree, several rocks underneath his body further injuring his already weakened body, and his sword shooting out of his hand, ending up right in front of the Starfleet officer.
Considering the properties of the body, however, being electromagnetic in nature, her response only did so much, but it did enough to temporarily incapacitate him from the shoulders down.
Obsidian let out several coughs, smiling darkly. "Quite impressive, Aia," he said, following up with two coughs. "Now..." He let out three evil chuckles. "Finish me off." Another cough. "Take my weapon, and using both swords, give in to your urges. Rid this galaxy of my corporeal being. Release me into a realm of greater power." The Imperator laughed darkly, his teeth shining frighteningly upon her.
"Do it," he snapped, regaining feeling in his arms and, more slowly, the rest of his body, the dark smile still crossing his lips in anticipation of what was to come...

-Elerra Prime, Governor's Mansion-
Quote: | The aide shook his head, unsure of when Al-Firdos was to return to Elerra Prime.
"I don't know," He said, "He mentioned that he had a lot of recovering to do and right now, most of the open space lanes were filled with star ships at check points, ensuring that it's not Nautolian vessels trying to flee..."
The war seemed to still be going on, from a certain point of view. While the Nautolians officially surrendered, many of them were left wandering, confused as to the true state of the war. One could only hope that the Prime Minister has recalled all vessels to return home. |
Sophie nods. "Of course. Please keep me posted on any updates. I'm sure the entire household is eager to welcome him home. We'll arrange a dinner for his homecoming."
The war had taken a toll on everyone for sure. While there was nothing she could do to help lift the spirits of everyone effected by the war, she could certainly try to help in that department when it came to staff and residents of the Governor's mansion. Governor Al-Firdos and his employees had gone out of their way to make Sophie and her son feel at home there and for that she would be eternally grateful.
-DSG, Sickbay-
While no where near as busy as the hospitals on Earth, DSG's sickbay had a steady stream of patients. For the most part, they were easy cases. Officers that had been injured but not seriously enough to further clog the overflowing hospitals on Earth. Ensign Callie Simons, the new head nurse, hummed happily as she sent a Lieutenant back to his quarters for some much needed R&R. Technically, her shift had ended but she had no intention of abandoning her post now. Everyone had been putting extra effort throughout the ordeal. Sleep would come later.

After several hours of waiting,Kathryn finally approached her mother.
"M...mom,I need medical attention."
Rose looked at Kathryn confused.
"I have no daughter. The only daughter I had entered the acedemy without my knowledge and I haven't spoken to her in six years, since the day she left. Now,leave me be,young lady,I have have people to care for."
Kathryn just stared blankly and then walked out of the hospital in a daze. She then reached her combadge.
"Ensign Kathryn Johnson to anyone that can hear me,I'm ready to go....home."

-Earth, San Francisco-
Ian nodded and walked a few feet away from the others with T'Sa.
"What's up?" Ian asked.
-Cardassia, Central Command-
Garak smiled and motioned towards a large screen where the image of a Federation space dock was shown. Information, in Cardassian, was flashing under the image. One part of the information was the name...
"The Federation space station, Deep Space Guardian," Garak said, "It was where the late Gul Oyet pledged his alligence to Mr. Fito. It is there that you will do undo the damage he did. There is a shuttle waiting for you, I took the liberty of having your things be sent to it. I expect you on the shuttle at 0800 hours. Good day, Gul."
He bowed and walked away, dissapearing into the winding corridors of central Command.

T'Sa followed Ian and hesitated a moment, then looked into the eyes of her former student. She could remember the days when he needed someone to talk to, she had always made sure to be there. T'Sa gripped the PADD tightly and cleared her throat softly.
"I...have been acting erratically in the last few hours, for that...I am sorry. I haven't been able to meditate lately, not have I slept well. I've been worried about...things..."
-Cardassia, Centeral Command-
Telcan watched Garak walk off and then let out a long groan of annoyance. That man...urg. Telcan looked back over to the screen and studied the read out, he was farmilar with the space station, something told him he might not be to welcomed there, not with the war having actually started there.
Telcan turned on his heel and decided to make his way from the docking port, at least it would take him away from the current mess...
-U.S.S. Monarch, Bridge-
The doors to the turbolift opened, and Archer stepped out and took a look around the bridge. He felt a pang of regret, he knew he was going to miss these people, and the ship. He saw Creed confering with an officer and decided to get it overwith, and steped over to her.

Ian placed a hand on her shoulder and nodded sympathetically, understanding somewhat. He didn't know why she had fallen apart emotionally, but Ian knew that he would help her through whatever it was.
"Don't worry, T'Sa," Ian said, "I know that you may still be...ill, but I'm glad that you're taking this command. You'll come back to DSG. Any station I call home isn't a home unless it has a Vulcan mentor."
He smiled at her and hoped that whatever problem there was, he'd find a way to bring her back...to her old self.
-USS Monarch, Bridge-
Emma looked up, noticing Archer suddenly appearing on the bridge. She hadn't seen him since the end of the battle that nearly cost Earth it's freedom.
"Captain," She said surprised, "I didn't expect to see you so soon."
She was oblivious to her promotion and his transfer back to his original ship. She didn't even knwo the 5th fleet was disbanded...

T'Sa reached up carefully and touched Ian's hand where he touched her shoulder. She nodded in return and looked to Ian brightly when he mentioned about DSG not being home unless she was in effect, around.
"I'll be fine, in days at the most, with rest and meditation. This war...everything...worry about...you..."
T'Sa shifted her weight and slowly lowered her arm slowly, moving her hand down Ian's arm.
"I...hope you are alright, and are not letting Fito get to you..."
-USS Monarch, Bridge-
Archer nodded slowly and looked at Emma for a moment, she would make a great captain...
"It's good to see you, Commander" he said.
"I'm afraid the news isn't all the best. Starfleet is disbanding the fleet, and has reassigned me to the Hippocratic Oath, my origional assignment."

-Earth, San Francisco-
Ian wondered how T'Sa knew that he was dwelling on Fito. Had she become a telepath since he's last seen her? No, surely not. It must have been because she knew him too well. Ian had always been obsessed with catching Fito and he truly reflected that on T'Sa's first mission aboard the Defiant, a year ago. He shook his head in response.
"I think that's a chapter that I can finally close in my life." Ian replied.
-USS Monarch, Bridge-
Emma didn't immediately reply, having not ever considered the possibility of not being part of the 5th fleet.
"I see," Emma said, "Well then, I'd just like to say it an honor serving under you, sir."
She would miss her new captain, but understood he had original duties that he could no longer ignore. Archer was only leading the fleet because of the war and she saw this as confirmation the war was truly over. Now, they could mourn the dead and finally be a starship for exploration again.

T'Sa nodded slowly and offered a strange gesture, she gave a slight pat on the shoulder in a geture similar to people doing in situations of sadness, or whatever was going on.
"Good" she whispered, "Good."
T'Sa looked around at their surroundings, then thought back to the sight she had seen back at the...'camp' if t could be called a camp that is.
"Who the hell are we serving" she whispered.
T'Sa looked back to Ian and had a sad look in her eyes. She appeared to be frowning, but that could have been a trick of a shadow, or a light over her face from the sun.
"The camp we saw Ian" she whispered again, "What is the Federation coming to? How are hungry children a threat?"
-USS Monarch, Bridge-
Jon nodded slowly, and offered a warm smile.
"The honor" he said, "has been mine."
Jon studied her for a moment then cleared his throat.
"Well, I have been informed that someone new will gain command of this ship..."
Jon held out his hand to creed.
"Congradulations, Captain"

-Earth, San Francisco-
Ian shook his head, not having an answer for her.
"I don't know," He said honestly, "But what I do now is...DSG maybe the last place where the real Federation exists. If that is the case, it's become all the more important..."
He folded his arms in slight frustration with the situation and hoped he would never have to deal with that camp ever again.
-USS Monarch, Bridge-
Emma gasped, not holding back her surprise in the least. She took firm hold of Archer's hand and shook it, not expecting this promotion. While she felt unsure of this, she definitly was humbled by it.
"Thank you, sir," She replied, "I'll make you proud."
She let go of his hand and looked towards the viewscreen which depicted space, a space filled with debris of dead ships.
"Who knows?" She said, "Maybe we'll run into each other again. Space isn't as big as people say..."

T'Sa nodded slowly at his statement, she thought on his words, over analyzing them in fact. Ian could be right, but the back of T'Sa's mind had a nagging thought.
How can I serve an administration such as this she asked herself mentally.
T'Sa stepped forward and touched a hand on Ian's arm, making sure she had his attention.
"Ian" she said, "We'll figure it all out, somehow, someway, We'll figure it out...together...with my crew, your crew....however...but, we'll figure it out."
-USS Monarch, Bridge-
Jon nodded slowly, and smiled.
"Captain" he said, adressing her by her new title, "I have no doubt that you'll make me proud, and I have no doubt our paths will cross again."

Ian nodded, grateful to have his old mentor back in his presence to guide him. She was the closest tie to Thomas Xavier, his deceased father, now. He heard his combadge chirp and heard two familiar voices, one after the other. Ziona and Kathyran contacted him, stating they were ready for beam out. Blake, no doubt, was still working on rounding up the entire crew. With nothing really left to say or do, Ian looked back at the alien planet, Earth. This was never truly his home as he had been born on a space station and rarely came to Earth. He would only defend Earth vehemently because it was the heart of the United Federation of Planets and Starfleet Command. He would defend Vulcan or Andoria that same way for the same reason, but never because it was home. Deep Space Guardian was home and it seemed it was time go back. Earth was a foreign world, Fito's grave, the heart of humanity, whatever one wanted to call it, but never his home.
"Amragosa to commander Xavier," A voice said on his combadge, "We've been sent to bring you back to Deep Space Guardian."
Ian looked away from Earth and back at T'Sa, his eyes watering slightly at the realization that Ian would probably never return here. He gently tapped his combadge, never taking his eyes off of T'Sa.
"Xavier here," Ian said, "We're ready to go home."
