--USS Eagle Star, Bridge--
"Captain, we've lost more speed," the Andorian helmswoman reported. "We're now at Warp 1.1, and I don't think we can hold it any longer."

"Did we even have warp to begin with?" the Captain replied, sternly, his face rather shocked at what was now happening.

ch'Thane looked down at her console and attempted to find an answer. "I honestly don't know," she replied.

"Reiman to engineering," he spoke up again after tapping his commbadge once more. "Are we experiencing some sort of computer failure or problems of another sort?" That was the only logical thing. He feared that the Andorian had been fed faulty information from the computer, and that presented a potential danger to the ship and crew.

(For future record, you're all allowed to control Farrel. He's an NPC, I made. Sorry about the lack of posts, been busy. On another note, RM, I seriously suggest you move fast with the RPG as many of the members seemed to have left out of boredom. I know you like to be meticulous on every tiny detail, but I think the others are tired of that.)

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Hiro stood silently, his arms folded, as he waited for someone in engineering to respond to the captain. There was a rather long delay, from what, he wasn't too sure. It seemed the engineer that was answering the call to Reiman was checking the status of the engines and the source of the problem. He looked towards his old friend, Tracey, but said nothing to the half-Betazoid. Hiro looked back to Reiman when he heard the voice of the assistant chief of engineering.

"Sorry for the delay, sir," He said over the comm. badge, "I was running a diagnostic of the system. It seems that their is faulty information all over the ship. As we stand now, I can give you warp 1, for ten minutes, nothing more. If you push it beyond that or for longer, we'll have a core breach. I'll send you power momentarily. Farrel out."

The first officer sighed at the disturbing news, as it seemed the Eagle Star was in the worst shape it had ever been. There was an akward silence on the bridge as they waited for the engines to fully activate. Hiro took a seat and with an annoyed sigh, stared at the console, getting lost in the bright colors. He hadn't realized that a half an hour passed before Farrel contacted the bridge and said that they had warp...for now.

"He's right," The Andorian helmsman said, "We have warp."

Hiro, not giving Reiman a chance to respond, said, "Engage."

The Andorian nodded, looking at Reiman, then back at her console. She activated warp and the ship finally got underway...

U.S.S. Eagle Star, Bridge

Sakura hadn't been paying much attention to what had been going on with the Vorticans and everything else of the sort. No, her mind had been too focused on thoughts of home. The fact that she hadn't been able to send that lone letter to her parents that she had just written up, hours before the recent battle that stranded them in this unknown place, was still nagging at her mind, like a rat gnawing at a loose wire. It had been driving her insane.

Eventually, when the Captain of the Eagle Star, Captain Reiman (a man she was regarded with more and more distase by the second), had ordered her to begin work on translating the language of this galaxy, she managed to push such thoughts out of her mind, shelving them for now, in order to focus on the task at hand. If they were truly lost in another galaxy, she would have plenty of time to think and ponder her emotions.

Now, as the others went about carrying out their assigned duties while the Eagle Star made its way to this unknown planet the Vorticans had told them about, a planet where a way home could possibly be found, Sakura set to begin the long, dreary, and arduous task of translating the countless files of this alien language. Luckily, languages were her strong suit, however, she didn't have the same passion for the study of alien languages that a certain French science officer aboard a certain Ournal II class space station seemed to have...

Tracy stood in the bridge, feeling numb from all of the mix emotions she was being hit with. She could feel pain, suffernt, hatred, anger....she felt it all, and it was numbing her inside. She felt that someone had looked at her and looked over to see Hiro had glanced over. She let out a small sigh and walked over to him as engineering had spoken over the comline. When Hiro had told the helmsman to engage, she looked up to Hiro, her arms crossed and held close to her body.

"What now, Hiro" she whispered.

((Well arrive at the planet in my next post.))

--USS Eagle Star, Bridge--
Captain James Reiman sat in his chair on the bridge of the USS Eagle Star, a weak Federation starship stuck in an unknown galaxy. The warp issue was now settled, the ship apparently having ten minutes of mere warp one available to them. Their destination was four systems away, and so the Captain was concerned as to whether or not the crew would manage to get there within that time frame.

At our current speed, whats the ETA to our destination? he asked.

Fifteen minutes, sir, the Andorian replied. Reiman shook his head. They were five minutes too short.

Reiman to engineering, the Captain said, tapping his commbadge. We have a situation here. I need you to give me five more minutes of warp power than weve got right now, Mr. Farrel. See what you can do to make it so. Reiman out.

The Starfleet captain, torn up over all that had occurred this day, let out a deep sigh, recollecting on what had happened and the troubles they inevitably had in the end. The decision to come to this galaxy and then destroy the wormhole afterwards was perhaps the worse decision of his life, period. Now hundreds of people were stuck in terra incognita, having no idea of what was before them, all as a result of his decision, and that of no other...

As Reiman waited for a response from engineering, Tracy had approached Hiro, still visibly shaken by the recent events. She had asked what was going to happen now. The first officer could only shrug in resposne, not truly understanding the events occuring around them. Reiman was in control and for now, that was enough for Hiro. He felt so absolutely numb, not wanting to focus on the fact that they were lost in some unknown galaxy on a ship that was falling apart.

"You've got your five minutes," Farrel responded, "But don't expect to go to warp for days unless you want a core breach, sir."

Hiro could sense the strain on the man's voice. The engineers were probably fighting to keep everything in order down there. He looked up at Tracy, unsure of what to do.

"You should get some rest, my friend." He whispered.

"You've got your five minutes," came Farrel's response from Engineering. "But don't expect to go to warp for days unless you want a core breach, sir."

Reiman nodded once. "Understood," he replied. No warp for days? he thought. How could they go on in that state? There was no way they could survive that long. Trouble was on the way, he could just feel it. Something else, whatever that may be, had to be done were the crew to survive.

"Helm," he said, "keep us steady on course." The captain then rose from his seat and looked at his first officer. "Commander, alert me when we've arrived. I'll be in my Ready Room." The aging British man then treaded over to the entrance to his Ready Room, turned around, and said, both loudly and kindly, to everyone on the bridge, "Use this time to relax the best you can. We don't know what's in store for us at the other end." With a curt nod he turned back around and entered the office, the door closing behind him.

During the succeeding fifteen minutes or so Captain James Reiman sat at his desk, running through a number of reports from the different departments of the ship and considering the options that they might be forced to experience. He tried to keep his thoughts straight and not dwell on the cause of the problems they were experiencing - his own stupidity - but rather contemplated the present and what could be done about it.

On the bridge, at the end of those fifteen minutes, Ensign ch'Thane looked over to the First Officer and said, "Commander, we've arrived at our destination."

Hiro stood up from his seat and nodded to the Andorian helmsman. He tapped his combadge quickly.

"Haswgawa to Reiman," Hiro said, "We've arrived, sir. Your orders?"

He folded his arms, still feeling sick from the events of earlier. However, he would put up with his sick stomach and complete whatever task was needed to be completed.

Tracy had not left the bridge to rest, how could she rest at a time like this, the emotions bombarding her was simply to much at this point in time. She was also feeling intense emotions from her friend, Hiro, who apparently was sickend by the Captain at this point in time. She let out a sigh and held her arms close to her body and stood near her friend, to offer him support.

--USS Eagle Star, Captain's Ready Room--
"Haswgawa to Reiman," the First Officer sounded. "We've arrived, sir. Your orders?"

Reiman's first thought was of just how fast the time went by and then descended onto the orders he would give. "Understood," he replied. "Bring us into orbit around the jungle planet. I'll be there in a moment. Reiman out."

With that the communication was ended. The captain packed away a few things and, once ready, stood, heading for the door and subsequently exiting his office and entering the Ready Room.

"Report," he said, looking at the First Officer as he descended to the captain's chair.

Hiro nodded towards the viewscreen, which was barely functioning. The jungle world that the benevolent aliens had pointed them to, suggesting a possible salvation may exist there. Hiro could only hope it was true, but with their luck, he didn't hold his breath.

"I've run a few scans," Hiro reported, "M-class planet. As far as sensors can tell, the entire planet is a giant jungle. However, I detected readings of certain metals, possibly not. I'm not sure. There is a concentrated set of stones and a large energy reading emanating from that area. Sensors, as they stand, can't get anything more."

He looked at Tracy, who stood nearby, then looked back at Reiman, curious as to what it was he was going to do...

Metals, stone concentrations, and energy readings? Perhaps something was there after all.

Eying the viewscreen carefully, Reiman considered the situation. The planet, according to the Vorticians, may hold the key to their successful return to their own galaxy, and he felt a strong need and desire to exploit that potential asset. The only option, he concluded, was that an away team could be sent down.

"Commander..." he said, slowly. "I want to take an away team down to the planet to investigate those energy readings in-person and see what we can come up with. I have a feeling that that's the key to this puzzle." He paused for a second, adding, "And so, Commander, you're with me." Tapping his commbadge the captain ordered, "Reiman to Savior. Commander, I want you and a team of armed security officers to report to Transporter Room 2 immediately." The captain then looked to his Chief Operations Officer.

"Lieutenant," he said to Ogawa. "I'd like to have you join us, but we really need those books translated. You have the bridge, however." Reiman then eyed the counselor, who was near Hiro. "Counselor Nirel," he spoke up, "I'd like you to join us as well. Perhaps your Betazoid abilities could provide us with some assistance here." Turning to his First Officer he said, "If there are no objections, I'd like to get moving. We may not have much time." Hoping to get underway immediately, Reiman waited, allowing for Hasegawa to voice his opinion.

U.s.s. Eagle Star, Brig-

Thomass combadge chirped.
"Reiman to Savior. Commander, I want you and a team of armed security officers to report to Transporter Room 2 immediately." Thomas tapped it in response.
Acknowledged captain. On our way. Savior left the officers in charge of the brig and walked out to the corridor.

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Corridor-

Thomas activated a comline to his other security team.
Savior to Alpha team, assemble in transporter room two. Were heading to the surface.

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Transporter Room 2-

Thomas entered the transporter room and was greeted by the ever punctual Alpha Team. One of his crew handed him a compression phaser rifle. Savior checked it quick, then closed it back up. Its not that he didnt trust his security officers to check it but he always felt better doing that himself.

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Main Engineering-

Haley Tadan looked over at Farrel.
I recommend an overhaul of the warp core She said half joking.

Hiro nodded quickly, "After you, sir."

He motioned with his hand, essentially telling that Reiman should go ahead and that Hiro would be right behind him. Hiro hoped that whatever they were going to look for would be there and they'd be home by tommorrow...

-USS Eagle Star, Main Engineering-

Farrel chuckled at Haley's joke.

"You're telling me..." He muttered back.

He eyed the warp core and felt absolute pity for the stress it was put under by Reiman.

Tracy stood there for a moment, and shuddered at the aspect of an away mission so soon, at least under the current direction the Captain was going in. She couldn't, however, refuse to go.

"Aye, Sir" she said.

"After you, sir," Hiro said, motioning for Reiman to move on ahead with his hand. Reiman led both the first officer and the counselor to the turbolift, which closed behind them.

"Transporter Room 2," he told the computer, and the turbolift sped up. Soon after it stopped and the doors opened, Reiman leading the others directly to the transporter room. Upon entry he nodded to Savior and looked at the Transporter Chief. Walking over to a nearby hatch, Reiman grabbed the three standard phasers, handing one to Hasegawa and another to Nirel. "For safety," he told Nirel in particular. He normally didn't arm the counselor on away missions, even the most dangerous, yet, considering recent events, he felt it would be prudent to do so this time. "I'm not sure what'll be down there." Reiman didn't believe, however, that each of them needed full-out phaser rifles, and was therefore content with regular phasers for those three.

The captain then headed for the transporter pad, on which he stepped, waiting for the others to get on for the order to transport to be given.

Hiro, clutching a phaser in one hand and a tricorder in the other, stepped onto the transporter pad and waited for Reiman to give the go ahead. He eyed his friend, the chief counselor, Tracey.

"How do you feel about all of this?" Hiro asked, "About the planet. Do you sense anything?"

He made a habit of trusting her feelings as they had never failed her in the past.

Tracy thought over what Hiro was asking as she felt the phaser in her hands. She was nervious about the possibility of having to use it, and prefered not to.

"Well" she said, "I really don't know, there is something down there, but I do not know what..."

Hiro frowned at her "report" of what she felt emanating from the planet itself. The news always had to be bad or it wouldn't be an away mission.

"Figures." He muttered.

He set his phaser to a higher setting, between kill and stun. This was after all a new galaxy. Stun may have no affect on some life forms on the planet.

"Stick close to the team." Hiro told Tracy.

Tracy frowned when he started muttering, she could tell that he was bothered by many things, and her...report, did not help matters none. She let out a soft sigh of regret and stepped onto the pad and chacked her phaser, it seemed to be in order. She nodded slowly when he told her to stick close to the team, in fact she intendted to do so, stick close to him even, he was the only one she dared to trust for the moment.

"I'll watch yours, if you watch mine" she said, refering to a rather depressing 'joke' they developed during the Dominion war, where if Tracy watched Hiros back, he watched hers.

Reiman listened slightly to the conversation between Hiro and Tracy but didn't put much focus on it. What he could tell was that the counselor was nervous, but that was about it. The captain looked at the two friends for a second, giving them a warning nod. "Energize," he finally ordered, and the transporter chief did as she was told, sending the group down.

The away team rematerialized in a jungle clearing in the middle of several stone, temple-like structures of medium size, trees scattered about the area. There was no rain, but it was clear that it hadn't been long since it rained last, judging from the water droplets on both the trees and the structures.

One structure, on the northern side of the this section, was taller and wider than the others, was considerably larger than them, and stood a number of yards beyond those surrounding the away team, surrounded solely by trees, distanced from the other structures.

"Commander," the captain said, looking at Hiro. "Where are those energy readings coming from? That large structure over there?" He pointed in its direction, eying it closely. "And counselor, do you sense anything worth noting?" He looked around the area, attempting to find anything that might give him an idea for what they were experiencing. He was fascinated by these structures, curious as to what civilization they were of and when they became abandoned.

Hiro scanned with his tricorder, trying to get some type of reading out of it.

"Yes, sir," Hiro said, "It's coming from there."

He nodded to the structure that Reiman had pointed to earlier. Without another word, he began to scan around them, trying to sense out any life forms...

Tracy closed her eyes and 'listened' to her surroundings. She let out another sigh as she opened her eyes and took a step back, making sure to stay close to her friend, Hiro. Somehow, knowing he was within arms reach added comfort.

"I'm sorry, Captain" she said, "Either nothing is here, or there is a species, but they are not fully capable, or capable for my...abilities."

Savior, along with Perry and 4 others beamed down with the away team. Perry moved forward and spoke to Thomas.
Reminds me of Risa. Savior nodded and chuckled slightly.
It only lacks the weather regulators and beautiful women. Perry returned to his spot in the formation.

Savior approached Reiman.
Captain, if you want I will take a few security officers and check out that structure.

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Main Engineering-

Haley was glad to see Farrel wasnt one to hold a grudge. Or at least he didnt seem to be.
Well, since were stopped we should begin repairs. Where do you recommend we begin?

"Yes, sir," Hiro answered James's question. "It's coming from there," acknowledging the large structure with a nod.

"I'm sorry, Captain," Tracy then spoke up. "Either nothing is here, or there is a species, but they are not fully capable, or capable for my...abilities."

Reiman nodded, hoping that it was a matter of "nothing" being there, not an alien species able to conceal itself.

After the swapping of a few jokes with himself and Lieutenant Perry, Lieutenant Commander Savior himself made a statement. Captain, if you want I will take a few security officers and check out that structure.

Reiman considered the suggestion for a second before responding. "No," he said, shaking his head. "We'll go in, but we'll go in together. Unless it's absolutely necessary we're not going to split up." He paused for a second before stating, "You may lead the way into the structure, however."

The captain fixed his weapon in his grip, readying it to move along, allowing the Security Chief to lead the way over the distance to and then into the structure.
