I'd love her to be developed more as a Ds9 charcter- thought her exit was terrible- especially as by turning in the Maquis shed be saving them from the Cardies by putting them under Fed. custody...
anyway, what do you think of her as a character

Actually, she was offered the part to play Ro Laren as the main Bajoran character on DS9 but the actress turned it down to play in more TV and movies, so that's when the character Kira Nerys was developed. As much as I like Kira's character, it would have been cool and interesting if Michelle Forbes hadn't turned down the part. I do really like her character a lot. I wished they had shown more of her in other episodes.

Yes, and then in the DS9 relaunch of books, Ro Laren comes in as an actual character, she ends up replacing Odo.

i wacthed her episode yesterday "Ensign Ro" and yes she would have suited fine on DS9 as the main Bajoran Charachter. I dont think she fits on the Enterprise D as much as DS9.

The DS9 books don't characterize her well. You don't read them and think of Ro

Thats awesome, I never knew that. Imagine what we would have missed if she had joined DS9. I don't think I would have liked Ro as much as I like Kira.

I never really thought of her as either positive or negative. To me she was just always interesting but not really anything more. Deffinitly would never rank her as one of my favorite characters, she didn't speak to me the way certain other characters did...but I don't dislike the character either.

I always enjoyed episodes that featured Ro, mainly because she embodied a sense of internal conflict that was the Maquis.

I always really liked Ro's episodes in TNG, thought she was kinda fun! Feisty and all that, a bit of a breath of fresh air even!
