^Just out of curiosity, which parts of Star Wars? The originals? The prequels? The novels? The games? The comics?
I think that Star Wars is such a vast universe that everyone can find *something* to like in it if they try.

- Voyager seems to be more of a procedural than DS9. Voyager's episodes generally stand alone, with DS9 - you have to watch at the beginning or you'll be lost.

This sort of topic is a bore and waste of time- its all Star Trek, and DS9 and VOY both had good and rubbish episodes, so..

This is just an endless tirade of a debate. The fans of Deep Space Nine are going to say that is better, while the Voyager fans will say that one is better. The most annoying aspect of any side, is that they act like the show (DS9, or VOY) is the Trek, to end all Trek, none of them are. However, I will act on the side of DS9 here. Let's face it, VOY had way to many re used plotlines, not just from past series (Hey, that's going to happen), but from past seasons/episodes! I mean, there is at least one "Stuck-on-the-broken-holodeck-leave-and-die" plots per season of Voyager, that means at least seven, and in fact it was more then that, some seasons had two or three! It's a good idea, but seven times in seven seasons at least is to much. DS9 did it, maybe three times? Even then, it wasn't really a 'malfunction' of the sorts. There is also the problem of the writers, VOY simply had to many that ignored open opportunities, or just simply wanted to re do the same thing over and over again (Just how many times will it take of being kidnapped before Kim learns to stay with the group!)
Just so it's not an all out VOY bash, DS9 had some problems here and there, actors, writers, producers and all that. Of course, like many other series, there were some weak episodes (Worf on Risa? that episode was weak, then again...) Well, case in point, I'll say I like DS9 better, but VOY is the one that is sitting on my DVD shelf at the moment.

I stand on my point of view that DS9 is as good as VOY, what was my favourite series though was TNG, now that is Trek.

Yes. DS9 is better than VOY. However, that is only MY opinion. Everyone has their own tastes and is entitled to their own opinion. If someone likes VOY, I'm not gonna go "OMG!!! You liek VOY!!! U R so stoopid! DS9 roxorx!111!".
Everyone is entitled their own opinion. Each Trek has their own special things about them that make them unique and good in their own respects. VOY had an interesting premise, however, it was not implemented the way that it should have been. If it had, VOY would have been truly good. DS9 is my favorite because of the darker undertones, Sisko's bad-ass-ness, the Bajorans, the Cardassians, Sisko's baldness, the Dominion, Sisko's awesomeness, the character development...and...Oh. Did I mention Sisko? Oh. Yeah. He rocks.
In any case, all Trek is good. DS9 is just my personal favorite.

totally disagree with that...DS9 was a great series, and sometimes you get to see some cooler stuff than voyager had...IE all the major space battles with an insane number of ships...those were my favorite episodes...however i say voyager won, because they had to overcome so much more being the only FED. ship in the delta quadrant until they came accross the equinox. even then though they had to find their own resources, and had to fight just about everyone who lived in Delta

Voyager was the best series, and the turning point for Starfleet, she made starfleet history- along with the USS Enterprise and Kirk- for her many adventures and first contacts in the Delta Quadrant. And to top it all off, she dealt a crippling blow to the Borg by destroying one of their transwarp conduits! W00t! Go Voyager! Voyage RULES!

if u cant beat them join 'em...
Voyager is better. Ds9 was told over a hundred episodes practically, and you lose the thread. VGR was original, unique and like a new TOS- a return to ST roots. Thats not to say ds9 wasn't good- all Trek is- except for some tacky TNG eps
Point 2 -oi! whoever it was?I love StarWars- there's just so much to it, and although some of it is trash, you can say that for anything

I always liked Voyager better because for one thing, I really liked watching Kate Mulgrew as the captain, however I couldn't really get into DS9 as much. Not to mention that I started watching Voyager when I was 10, and thought at that age that DS9 was just too boring at times and hard to understand. And also, as some other people have said, you really had to watch from the beginning to understand what was going on. Voyager was more stand alone. Although I do think that DS9 did have better writing at times. Except it's kind of like The X-Files, the new Battlestar: Galactica, or even Heroes, you really have to watch from the beginning to really get into the show. Or at least if you don't watch from the beginning, you must watch it consistantly to finally get what's going on.

VOY will always be in my heart, it's my 1st Star Trek. I was 5 when I first saw VOY, but I like DS9...so, I can't decide.

i like Voyager better mainly becuase being on a ship i think there is more exitement than being on a space station in deep space. i wish Jullian Bashir though went to a ship i like him as a Doc.

Anything is better than Voy. Except TNG.
DS9 is by far the best Trek. IMESHO, of course,

Well, that's a smart opinion you've got there.
Though, I would say TNG was better than VOY, by far. However, DS9 trumps them both.

I hate Picard. Mucho. Tried watching TNG after DS9, and was sick. Picard: Stop being mean to Riker! Blah blah blah! Damn man, grow a pair. Ugh.

Voyager will always be a sentimental favorite of mine, as I used to always watch it at 10 PM weeknights before going to bed back in high school. But DS9 was an all-around excellent show. The characterizations, back stories, arcs, character development, etc. And the way it fleshed out the Bajorans and the Cardassians really make it worth while.

I like them all (but TOS, its to old for my tastes, but it is funny to see every once in awhile).
The best between DS9 and VOY, I don't know. I guess I would say DS9 for now cause I love the who war thing, and I haven't seen most of VOY, I can't wait to see the Borg episodes.
So yeah, I can't judge, I still have a number of DS9 episodes to see as well as a lot of voyager episodes.
