PostMon Feb 05, 2007 11:14 pm    Ever broken any bones?

Today I broke my right pinky at work. It hurts so bad and I'm typing with one hand. I pinned it between a moving dough trough (1500 lbs) and a cement pole. What bones have you broken? How did you do it?

Don't know if this actually counts, but once at a batting cage my finger was hit, and it chipped off a sliver of bone. (which eventually worked it's way out, pretty narsty)

Up until grade 9 I had never broken anything. Then that fatefull 3 days came... I was in class on a Friday and the teacher left the room so my buddy Trevor and I started playing 'shot for shot'. Essentially, the nature of the game is to take turns punching the person's arm, and you punch harder with each turn. Well, he went from soft to hitting like a hammer, so I went "Ouch!" and put my hand on my arm and he hit it again and broke my middle finger.

I went to the doctor about it, he taped 3 of my fingers together. I left the doctor's office, took the tape off, and my figure as been slightly bent ever since, (only noticable if I actually point it out).

Then 2 days later I was going down a hill on rollar blades fairly quickly. Was going to do a wide turn to slow down but as I got there an SUV appeared so I tried pulled a turn quickly to avoid it while going fast and I wiped out and landed hard on my arm. The bone didn't technically break, it green-sticked.

----/\---- <--- Something like that.

And since then I think I may have fractured my ankle, tail-bone, and possibly sternum. I hurt my ankle and sternum in hockey a year ago and they still really bother me, and my tail bone off the bottom of my pool. I can't sit in a relaxed position for very long anymore without it getting sore.

There's my tales of woe for insignificant injuries.

I fractured those two bones in your forearm. I landed on my left arm while jumping hurdles (and then tripping) in seventh grade. According to my friends, it was quite amusing.

When I was five years I accidently dropped a brick on my little toe and broke it. Then back in 2003, a drunk in the neighborhood swung onto the sidewalk so quick and ran over my left foot breaking it. Ouchy... Well he is in prison so nomore worries ... Drunk drivers i can't stand lol I didn't know that a car was coming until boom. too late. I was busy talking to my friend. Guess both to blame ha ha

I broke 3 bones in my ankle (really, one was kind of my heel). Was running, tripped on a branch, landed on my left foot and turned all the way around. Was like... 'Huh. I don't think I can walk on that now.' Since I've sprained it four times. Once dancing, once doing something else, and then in one week I sprained it twice. So... my ligaments don't work real well. I can roll my foot around and hear the bones shift. >.<

Dan... you never told me you were all defective.

I broke my leg pretty badly when I was in 8th grade, I had to have surgery to get it to where it wouldn't grow weird afterwards.

I broke my nose. I got in a fight with my freind's brother and he punched me in the nose pretty hard and i threw a few punches after that before it was broken up. About 30 seconds later i took my hands off my nose to see if it was okay and my nose suddenly burst blood out and it went everywere and all over everyone nearby. Then my friend's family took me to the ER and it was broken and it had to wear some kind of little thing on it for like 2 months it really sucked.

the worst thing I ever got was a twisted ankle...we're kinda a lucky family on that....my brother and I had never anything broken and the first time my Dad broke something was when he was 44...but no wonder...he was paragliding and had trouble landing...I don't know about my mom...when she was in her late 30ies she broke a rib once, but she didn't even notice it until months later when she got x-rayed because of something else.

Years ago I fell off my bike and broke my wrist. Was not pleasant. Especially when the wrist you break is your right one, making it impossible to write anything if you're right handed (as I am).
