I'm a big Sabres fan. Most of their players were groomed here in Rochester. (Rochester Americans)

AN NHL TOPIC! I'm so happy.

Definately a HUUUUUUUUGE Habs fan, (Montreal Canadiens).

IMO, the best playoff series you could get would be a Habs vs Sabres conference final.

I'm hoping the Habs pluck Briere from you guys on free agency this summer, . Would be nice to get the hometown boy in Montreal.

I love Briere, he was a beast in the all-star game. I also love Maxim Afinegenov (I hope I spelled his name right), hes just so fast and fun to watch. I saw him play in the Calder Cup Finals here in Rochester against Hartford, that was probably 5-6 years ago. We actually sat behind Martin Biron.

Definately. 1G 4A at the all-star game, I believe?
Both Briere and Drury are UFAs this summer, so rumour has it the Sabres have to choose. And Afinogenov is so fast. Very exciting player to watch. His spin-o-rama goal that one time was unbelievable!

While speaking of UFAs, though... One of my favourite players is a UFA, too, . Sheldon Souray. What a machine. Another slapshot GWG tonight for him, . 18 goals, 44 points for a defenceman.

hes done that spinning thing a bunch of times, i believe he did it in the olympics. I'm gonna look for some videos on youtube right now. I wish there were a way to keep them both. Who knows?

They'd both have to decide to take pay cuts in the salary cap era, when considering their performances they'd normally get raises.

I'm pretty sure the Sabres may use Biron as trade bait to get that one last piece to help them in the playoffs. They're sorely lacking grit (other than Peters, Campbell, and Drury). Come playoff time, you need grit, and lots of it.

i totally agree, i thought we were doomed last year when we lost zhitnik and satan in the same year, but somehow we still played great. If it weren't for all the injuries at the end of that year, I believe we would have won it all.

That's cuz you had players like Vanek and Pominville step up huge for you guys, and Afinogenov finally broke out into the electrifying player he is now. And yeah, there's a good chance that if the Sabres didn't have such an injury hindered defence, that you guys would have won. However, that's why I say you need grit; players who won't get injured and can play the physically element of the playoffs without worrying.

There's also a chance that had the Sabres played the Oilers, that the Oilers could have come out with it through the vastly superior physical element they possessed. Could you stand to watch an entire series with Ryan Smyth standing infront of and pestering Ryan Miller?

**EDIT**

Great video. That's the spin-o-rama thing I was talking about! The one they show in that twice against the Flyers.

true, we do have some tough players (connelly comes to mind with two black eyes last year), but we do need more. Idk, I think we will continue to due well with whoever we have. I due hope we can snag a title this year though.

Hasn't Connelly been very injury prone recently? Or is that Tallinder?

Actually Connelly has been out most (if not all of) this year, and Tallinder has only been in 19 games.

Yeah, that's harsh. I think that was one of the factors on whether or not the Sabres do anything at the trade deadline, is whether or not Connelly will be back or not.

btw, here's 2 awesome videos.

GO HABS!

When I watch hockey, it's actually really cool... I wish I could watch more, no cable or anything. If I watched any sport, it would be hockey. Fast-paced and brutal.

I'm not the biggest hockey fan in the world (*looks to Valathous*), but, I try to keep up with the Red Wings.

I'm a baseball fan, at heart. Go Tigers! Though, I will say, hockey is probably the most...interesting sport to watch. Far more enjoyable than say...football or...tennis (*gouges eyes out*).

Go Red Sox!

Aren't the Canucks and Flames divisional rivals? Battle of the West sorta thing?

Must be a love/hate thing having to see your two fav teams face each other 8 times a season,

The Habs pwn of course.

I am in the town that has the Portland Winterhawks, but they are kind of a joke I believe. In any event, I will be going to my first hockey game sometime later this month to go see the Winterhawks.

I have RDS! All 82 Habs games in French,

Yvon Pedneault, Pierre Houde, Alain Crete, and Jacques Demers! The main RDS team! They're great, but none of them scream random obserdaties like what's his face... Rick Joanerette or something?

"GOOoOOoOoooOaaAaaaAalllllllllllllllllllllllllll! DECK THE HALLS! FA LA LA LA LA LA LAFONTAINE!"

lol.

Instead, I get "Le tir.... ET LE BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT!"

TML? Ew... Boo-urns. Boo-urns. 40 years of planning the parade down Yonge Street, already... Should be a good parade when it comes about in like 2057, .

Leafs are in trouble. Karberle is out for a few weeks. With Karberle and Kubina out, what are you going to do? Rely on McCabe and Gill (Aka, "Sweepstakes" ((for his numerous giveaways)) and "Traffic Pylon").

I would just like to say that Sheldon Souray is the best offensive defenceman in the league. 23 goals for a defenceman is huge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKStzJfVXWs&NR <--- Souray highlights. (WARNING - SONGS IN BACKGROUND CONTAIN PROFANITY. USE AT OWN DISCRESSION!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex5-kezg4rs <-- Same goals, pretty much. But it has some of Souray's fights thrown in there!
