Russia is no longer communist. I'm not particularly sure where communists stand on the gay rights issue. I don't believe they welcome it, however, I don't believe they ban it.

I don't think anyone can make a judgment on where commies stand on gay rights, lol. And yes, the USSR collapsed in 1991, Communist Russia collapsing with it. Now it's resurging back into a non-Communist authoritarian state.

Russia (and the rest of the USSR) was never communistic...they tried to reach communism, but they didn't manage to...
and I'm not surprised...many Russian people are homophobes...my Mom told us once that a guy she went to school with killed himself because he was homosexual
