Isn't this just heart-wrenching and overwhelmingly sad?

I really, really hope they get this devil.

I have good news to report!

I hope they get the #@%$#$# good on the s*** he pulled, let me tell ya. Doing that to a little girl, and then leaving her on the street far from home? I couldn't think of a worse crime.

Hope the parents aren't let off the hook for this, either. Child endangerment?

According to at least the most recent article, the parents had no idea he was a registered sex offender.

Quote:
The mother described Horner as a friend of a friend, and said she would not have let him within a "hundred million miles" of her house if she had known he was a registered sex offender.

I'm inclined to believe her.

People who have been convicted of a crime should be required to wear a t-shirt that says, "I [insert crime here] and all I got was [insert jail sentence here] and a lousy t-shirt."

I'm serious. If the guy had been wearing a t-shirt that said, "I'm a registered sex offender", then this wouldn't have happened.

It wouldn't have; good point. We need to more clearly delineate the sex offender from the average citizen so that these types of things don't happen. Parents need to be aware of whom they come in contact with in terms of whether that person is a sex offender or not, for the protection of themselves and their children.

Perhaps we could brand people on their forehead.

The problem with that is, the ACLU would get involved, as they do in any such measure, claiming that there's a "human rights violation" and crap like that.

As I recall, isn't all their information out there on the internet? Besides, what kind of person let's a "friend of a friend" come live in their house without knowing apparently hardly anything about them?

Apparently a very stupid person, though we don't know what the exact circumstances of this case were regarding the mother's relationship to the man. And I don't believe that the registry's been completed yet. Last I heard, the National Sex Offender Registry was still under construction. But I don't think that's enough, nonetheless.

I think branding people on the forehead is a bit too far. A tattoo on their back would work.

I think anyone who hurts a child should be rendered impotent by any means necessary. Male or female. I don't care if later they "find God", or whatever. Harsh? Good.
