Okay. I just watched the season premiere of the sixth season of 24 (a show of which I've never seen before. I only watched it tonight because of the hype and the fact that some ST alumni are involved.).
Two words are all I need to describe it. Simply amazing.
I've never seen a more suspenseful television show in my life. It was awesome. Not to mention the fact that Alexander Siddig (Bashir from DS9) plays a role in the show.
I loved it and I'm definitely going to go back to watch the other seasons, via DVD.

I despise 24...but it has a very good idea for the show, quite unique.
Although, upon hearing Siddig has a part in it, I will most likely try to catch an episode or two, he is one of my favorite actors.

I've never been able to get into the show, although I know people who really like it.

- I read they were going to make it into a romantic/comedy. I've never seen the show.

"Some ST alumni" have been involved with 24 pretty much every year. In fact, I've never seen a mainstream show with so many been-in-science-fiction actors involved. Last year, I think there was one episode that included people from Babylon 5, Star Trek, Firefly, *and* Space: Above and Beyond.
Aaron Pierce (who is, I believe, the only character other than Jack Bauer to appear in all of the first five seasons) was an Ent-D security officer. Sherry Palmer was Kasidy Yates. One of President Palmer's aides from season 2 was Ro Laren (and Admiral Caine on BSG). Three of the bad guys last year were Badger from Firefly, Robocop (who was also in Odyssey 5), and Lt. Keffer from Babylon 5. President Charles Logan was Magistrate Higgins on Firefly. Bill Buchanon was Col. T.C McQueen on S:AAB. S.O.D. James Heller was President Henry Hayes on Stargate SG-1. The list goes on.
Anyway, 24 long ago abandoned realism, or a strict adherance to the "real-time format", but it's still loads of fun-----even if it does descend into self-parody more often than I'd like.
So.....how about that mushroom cloud, huh?

I never saw the first season. But i enjoyed the second and third one. However the 4th was a major let down, as its more of the same. Its kinda annoying really.
i never saw 5 and am never going to follow 6.

Oh, season 4 was the weak link, no question. Marwhan, AKA Houdini, must have escaped from "secured" CTU perimeters.....what, six or seven times?
But bringing in David Fury (Angel, Lost) and Manny Coto (Enterprise season 4) really helped season 5. It's still not as "real" as the first couple of years, but at least it's no longer in danger of becoming a joke.

Yeah. The mushroom cloud. Definitely not expecting that one.
Though, I'm still new to 24, so...

Grrr! It's so annoying how they always have to end it at such wonderful cliff-hangars, lol.
