U.S.S Voyager- What should have happened

Ok,I know it's well over an hour,but here it is. Another Chapter.

Chapter 117

It's bright and early and Chakotay wakes up.

Chakotay: Kathryn,hun. Time to get up.

Kathryn: Already? It's only 0200. Jessica will never get up.

As if on cue,Jessica walks into the bedroom already dressed.

Jessica: Why aren't you two up and ready? I just need to eat and I'm set to go.

Chakotay: Your mother says it's too early and you'd never get up. Why didn't you knock?

Jessica: Sorry,I knew you were up. I heard you talking.

Kathryn: Just always knock. We'll be out shortly.

Jessica leaves the room while Kathryn and Chakotay get ready. Within a half hour, everyone's ready to go. Chakotay drives to headquarters and they arrive at 0300. Upon arrival, Hastings calls for Jessica to his office.

Jessica: Why me first? I'm only helping with the kids.

Kathryn: Don't know,but I do know the Admiral doesn't like waiting. Get going.

Jessica:Okay.

Jessica heads to the Admirals office and just barges in.

Hastings: Didn't your parents teach you manners? YOu don't just barge into an Admirals office.

Jessica: Sorry,I'm just so excited.

Hastings: I understand that, but rules are rules. Now for what you'll be doing on the mission. You'll be in charge of the children when there is no one to watch them. Ages range from five to thirteen. All will be a challenge for you. You'll need to make sure they know your in chanrge whether your younger or older than them. You don't and they'll walk all over you. I know your only seven, but you can't act it with the older kids.Is this all understood?

Jessica: Yes sir.

Hastings: Good. See you in two weeks. Here's a PADD for your father to read. Send your mother in please.

Jessica: Yes sir.

Jessica leaves the office,gets Kathryn, Hastings gives her a briefing of the mission and tells her her position as Captain is still hers for the mission. Everyone then leaves and heads home.

And another awesome chapter by the writer Josi! Interesting that Jessica is gonna be in charge of all the children, could make an interesting story.

Ok,I didn't write any of this down in my notebook. I'm just coming up with it as I go.

Chapter 118

It's two weeks later and 0100. Everyone is supposed to meet Admiral Hastings at headquarters by 0200 to get rebriefed and ready to go. Jessica's the only one not up yet.

Kathryn: Jessica,time to get up. We'll be late. Breakfast is almost done.

Jessica: I'm not hungry. I don't feel good.

Kathryn:Your probably just nervous.You'll be fine. Your not hot or anything. Eating might help. Just a little bit.

Jessica: Ok,I'll try. I'll be out in a minute.

By 0130 everyone has eaten and is ready to go. Jessica's feeling better and the twins are sleeping. When they get to headquarters,Hastings asks to see Kathryn and Chakotay while Admiral Paris sees Jessica.

Hastings: Well I see everyone made it on time which is a good start. You both know your duties, but I want to make one thing clear. Just because your married doesn't mean your to be easy on each other. Kathryn, you come to me id you think Chakotay isn't performing correctly. Chakotay, your the Admiral on this, you make your own judgements. I expect both of you understand.

Kathryn and Chakotay: Yes sir.

Meanwhile with Jessica

Paris: Hastings told you that you would be in charge of any children that doesn't have someone to watch them. That the ages range from five to thirteen. One thing has changed. The oldest is sixteen. She's hard to get to listen. Think you'll still be able to handle this?

Jessica: All I can say is that I'll try. The five and six year olds should be easy,but older than I am will be hard. I'll just do my best. I have one question, why doesn't the sixteen year old have a job here?

Paris: She didn't want one and she also doesn't want someone watching her. She's a real trouble maker. You won't be able to keep your eyes off her for a second or something or someone could get broke.Good luck.

Jessica: Thanks. I'm going to need it.

After thier meetings,everyone met in thier quarters and Jessica told her parents about the sixteen year and they wished her luck. Then everyone got ready for thier first day on the mission.

Ok,I know it's a day late,but here's two chapter for the price of one.

Chapter 119

It's now two weeks into the mission and Jessica is planning a birthday party for one of the five year olds.

Jessicqa:I hope everything works out. Amy still has no idea about the party. You guys sent out the invitations,right?

Kathryn: Yes,honey. All sent or rather all received.

Jessica: Dad, you remembered to tell Neelix and Anthony that we need the messhall on Saturday from 2-4,right? I mean 1400 to 1600 hours.

Chakotay: I thought it was from 1600 to 1800. I better let them know I messed up. Of course I told them. You need to relax.

Jessica: Relax! I don't have time to relax. I have too much to plan and not enough time to plan it. I hope Miral remembered the decorations.

Kathryn: She did. Now,don't you have some kids to go watch?

Jessica: Oh yeah. Samantha,Jake and Amanda.

Chakotay: Don't forget Kimberely.

Jessica: The sixteen year old. I forgot. So, now I have to watch four kids that are all older than me. Kimberely being the worst. Maybe Miral will help.

Kathryn: You know she can't. She has her own duties to do.

Jessica: Oh,yeah. Hopefully Kimberely doesn't give me a hard time again.

Chakotay: You know what to do if she does. Now get going.

With that Jessica leaves and gets everyone except Kimberely. She's on her way to get her when something hits her in the back of the head.

Chapter 120

Jessica wakes up three hours later to see Samantha, Amanda and Jake next to her.

Jessica: Samantha, where am I?

Samantha: Your in sickbay. Someone hit you with a steel pipe in the back of your head. Jake saw who it was,but won't say.

Jessica: Jake,please. Say who it was. I know your the youngest besides me,but we need to know.

Jack: I can't. I promised her I wouldn't say. She'll beat me up if I do.

Amanda: Sounds like Kimberely. She's the only girl that Jake's scared of.

Jessica: Computer,locate Kimberely Jenkins.

Computer: Kimberely Jenkins is not on board the ship.

Jessica: Crewman Jessica Janeway to the Captain.

Kathryn: Go ahead Jessica.

Jessica: It's come to my attention that I was hit over the head with a steel pipe and am now in sickbay. Not only that, the number one suspect is no longer on board. Give you one guess who it is.

Kathryn: Kimberely,right? Where are the other three?

Jessica: Here with me.

Kathryn: I'll be right there then.

Kathryn arrived in sickbay a few minutes later. Jessica told Kathryn everything she knew had happened. Kathryn then asked Jake who he saw.

Jake: I can't.

Kathryn: You'll tell me or face brig time for insubordination.

Jake: At least I'll be safe and Kimberely won't beat me up for saying it was her.

Jessica: I knew it was Kimberely. Mom,I mean, Captain, can I decide the punishment when we find her?

Kathryn: I'll have to approve it first though. Deal?

Jessica: Deal.

Chapter 121

After three hours,B'elanna locates a shuttle with Kimberely aboard.

Jessica: Captain, can I go after her? Afterall,I'm supposed to be keeping an eye on her.

Kathryn:ok,but I'm comming with you. You can't go alone. She'll be more likely to listen to me rather than you.

Jessica:That's fine. Let's just go get her before she gets any further.

With that Kathryn and Jessica take a shuttle to go after Kimberely. After several attempts to get Kimberely to listen,Jessica gets an idea.

Jessica:Captain, she's not listening to either of us. I say you transport over to her shuttle,take control of it and bring it back to Voyager. I'll be fine here. I can pilot this alone.

Kathryn: You sound confident that this will work. Ok,we'll do it. I'm transporting over now.

With that, Kathryn transports over to the shuttle that Kimberely's on. Kimberely actually ends up firing at Jessica's shuttle before Kathyn takes control. Kathryn has to tie Kimberely into the passenger seat to do anything at all.

Kathryn: Captain to Voyager.

Chakotay: Go ahead Captain.

Kathryn: Chakotay, get a signal on Jessica's combadge and beam her to sickbay. I'll explain when I get back.

Chakotay gets the signal and does as told with no questions for the moment. The Captain said she would explain later and she would.
