Okay, back on-topic... the topic was Janeway and her many murders, right?

First... Janeway's biggest claim to fame is that she likes her coffee black?? Despite the many votes for this, I must say... no. Captain Kathryn Janeway is NOT that famous coffee-drinkin' starship commander. Nor is she known at ALL for some better relationship with her crew. I've never even heard that one before. Maybe it's true, but no claim to fame. It has to be that she's the female captain. Or else, that she's the commander of the ship lost on the other side of the galaxy, which in the fictional Trek world, would be THE thing she's known for. For viewers, it's gender. But mainly she's known for being great at her job.

Murder, murder.... anyone who thinks there was an obvious side to take on Tuvix was missing the point. It can't be obvious that it wasn't murder, or that it was, though those are valid responses. The point was the disturbing moral ambiguity. You ought to be able to see both sides at once, and why it was so difficult a choice, and why there was no satisfying resolution possible to this.

Umm Janeway is no murderer. If you want to talk about Tuvix, She made the right choice in my opinion. And the writers obivously thought so cause they did write the show. And that's how they wanted it to happen.

Yeah we could sit and go around in circles again with Janeway's ways of command. Of course this is a message board for discussions lol. Janeway did the best she could in that situation and others.

I too agree that she made the right decision. Not only that, but Tuvok and Neelix were the main characters...not Tuvix. As well as Tim Russ and Ethan Phillips having a contract...not that GUEST star...

The right choice? She ended a life, and it was obviously, a wrong choice, or the doctors ethical programing wouldn't have prevented him from doing the "procedure" himself.

She didn't end a life and yes she did the right thing. I am not saying it cause I am a Janeway fan. Even if I didn't like her I would stick to my opinion.

She is a type of captain that don't put the needs of herself first.

I would go into more detail but I do that in the morning when I have more time.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS WHAT I HAD TYPED! "DO IT"

THIS SECTION OF THE FORUM IS TO BE ABOUT WHAT JANEWAY IS MORE WELL KNOWN FOR.

HOW MANY TIMES DOES SHE SAY "DO IT" IN AN EPISODE.

THINK BACK TO THE EPISODE WHERE THE CORRUPTED HOLOGRAM IS DOING THE IMPRESSIONS OF JANEWAY. HE EVEN MOCKS HER THEN

"DO IT" REFERS TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE 3 POSSIBLIITES.

SHE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE FIRST FEMALE CAPTAIN WITH HER OWN SHOW IF SHE WASN'T ABLE TO COMMAND HER CREW.

THOSE TIMES WHEN THE REPLICATOR SYSTEM WAS MALFUNCTIONING, IF SHE DIDN'T SAY "DO IT" TO BELANA OR SOMEONE ELSE IT WOULDN'T HAVE GOT FIXED

LASTLY, HAVING A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CREW, AS A CAPTAIN, DEMANDS RESPECT. OBVIOUSLY HER CREW RESPECTS HER AS, IN MOST CASES, WHEN SHE SAYS , 'DO IT' THEY LISTEN.

ALL AND ALL, THE WORDS 'DO IT' SUM UP CAPTAIN JANEWAY MORE THAN ANY OTHER TWO WORDS, THUS INDICATING THE REASON I FELT THAT WAS ALL THAT NEEDED TO BE SAID

Johnbruno02- totally understand where you're coming from. There probably was a misunderstanding or something and I'm sure it will be worked out.
