I took legacy back to the store on friday, i hated the game !!!! They made the game sound so promising and fun, and it isn't worth the package it came in.
I hope some of you will find the game tolerable.

I got both Star Trek: Legacy and Civilization IV for Christmas.
Interesting observation about packaging. Star Trek: Legacy comes in a huge box with one DVD-ROM disc. The box, however, has a bunch of flaps for multiple discs. Tell me, does this make any sense? Why give me all this extra plastic? You could have shipped it in a single case! And then it goes and takes up 5 GB of storage.
Now compare this to Civilization IV. It has three CD-ROM discs, one of which is filled with instruction manuals and doesnt actually pertain to gameplay. It takes up only 1.7 GB of space, and each disc comes in an envelope instead of being housed in a huge plastic waste of space.
And I too hated Legacy... ugh.

Wow, a real winner here. I suppose we can all agree that it was extremely lame. So...anyone waiting for the next Star Trek game to come out?

hey, i just got startrek legacy and its an amazing game, but i dont know how to make all of my ships under my comand move to warp all at one time, the only way i know how to is to get close enough to a target till it says "warp to" but that never gets me close enough, it always drops me out of warp far away from the target, and i always have to get to close to the target to even get a warp to option, is there another way?
and my second question is this, when you hit the tab key and go to that screen, blue ships are your own, and red ships are the enemy, but green ships are also your own, is there a way to give them orders?

It wasnt that bad of a game. My biggest problem with it was the fact that once the era changed and i took control of kirk, i was still flying the NX

I didn't care for it too much on the PC but on the Xbox 360 I find it a definately more enjoyable game.

Your better of getting Bridge Commander...
With Modifications, it looks just as good if not better than legacy, doesnt require anywhere NEAR the specs, and is FAR more interesting to play...
You can even get wormholes with the new DS9fx mod

I am having a lot of trouble getting this game to play smoothly. I would like to know what you changed to get it do so. Can anyone help on this?
I have a Pentium Celeron-D 3.33GHz 533
256 MB ATI Radeon 9550
1GB DDR2 RAM
SoundBlaster Live! 5.1
DirectX 9.0c
When I play it, it is choppy and not very smooth and the cursor is slow to move across the screen, and also when in 2D map mode, the cursor jumps across too great an area between 3 and 6 grids.
Overall game play looks nice and I have no sound problems, but the visual lag is killing me - I cant make precision map coordinates either by zooming in or out and forget trying to perform specific functions while in th emiddle of a battle.
I have the latest drivers for hardware and according to the game specs, I have a powerful enough machine. I have to play in 800x640 with self shadowing off and 1X in order for the game to be playable. I can support 1280x1024.
Any suggestions?

Bridge Commander is a interesting game to play, and with mods it looks good....but no change in hell that it'll look better then Legacy on the XBOX360 (I've got them both). Also, Legacy has is a little more interesting in terms of tactical/strategical decisions.
