It could have been any rounded number- 4311 or 4611, but it was definitely 4_11

In one of the CANON star trek novels, there is a Captain who comes from a planet where the Roman Empire stayed to excist.
As far as i can remember, we saw them in a TOS episode*not sure*, but they would've never allied with the Federation.
Could someone tell if i'm wrong or not?

As it was mentioned, Is this a question? Looks more like a series idea to me. That would belong in the future of Star trek section
Tuvok, Cannon novels? Novels are not cannon.

There was nothing canon mentioned of Spock, but he was in a couple of books.

OK, I'm getting sick of this. Stop spaming the forums to increase your post count. That post has nothing to do with this topic.

Perhaps there never has been a main character that's had that rank. The point is... it's a rank on here. It doesn't have to be valid to a main character on t.v. to be valid here.

New Question:
The Voyager Conspiracy- So we worked out that it was all 7/9s imagination about the conspiracies, but I never found out what the deal was with that tractor beam and the Caretakers array. Can anyone plz tell me?
And, when they say novels aren't canon. what about novels of episodes. E.g, I bought a Caretaker novel last week. Duz that count?

We can only assume that it was nothing, and just a sensor blip of some sort that showed up and "looked" like a tractor beam. Because Seven asked the comptuer what that was, and it said something along the lines of "Insufficient Sensor Data." Not to mention the writers needed something for the episode, so it was obviously just thrown in, and can be passed off as nothing more than a sensor blip, or echo or something.

No, that book wouldnt really be cannon due to adding things (Details etc..) to it, it is baised on a canon production though.

How about textbooks. You don't know how many things originated there:
the spelling of Klingon words like petaQ
Background info on aliens
etc...
I was going to answer the ensign junior grade question seperately, but that would be spammish. There are plenty of nonreg ensign jgs. Admirals aren't part of the series either, but we see plenty of 'em.
Another question. How comes Janeway jumps from addressing Tuvok as lieutenant, to commander, when he is a lt. commander- but the lieutenant rank never changes in the titles until it is removed altogether. And how is it that when Paris is reinstated as a lieut. in Season 6, he jumps the lieut jg rank?

Paris probably jumps the JG rank because he already does have the skills... and a "reinstatment" would be going righ back into your previous rank... otherwise it would just be a promotion.
