General Rules: (Source: Founder's Star Trek: Gaia)
1) Do not spam. Which includes multiple posts back to back. No OOC only posts. If you make an OOC comment, you must include a post IC. Even if it is a small one.
2) Please be active. I understand if you get busy or have personal problems. Just tell me you can't post for the moment. You don't even have to tell me what the reason is. If you don't post at least once a week, I'll be forced to drop you a color. (See bottom for colors)
3) Be nice to each other. If you have a problem with another poster for some reason, tell me and I'll try and handle it.
4) Try and read the posts. I can understand if you don't want to sift through an essay of a post. If you don't want to, don't guess. PM me and I will give you a detailed summary of what has happened. I would rather avoid someone posting a post that makes no sense and contradicts other posts and then me having to tell them to edit. I honestly do not mind giving summaries.
5) If you want to post a picture of a certain action taking place, for example a Federation fleet is dropping out of warp, then please no animation pictures or a HUGE picture. If you use photobucket, which we are supposed to be doing, resize it to be smaller please. Not everyone can handle the animations and huge pictures.
6) Please do not use asteriks to define action. For example *Runs to the turbolift*. Just put "(Insert character name) runs to the turbolift."
7) Please use quotation marks when someone is speaking. It is a lot easier to differentiate thought from speaking if you use quotation marks. It doesn't need to be perfect English or anything, just something easy for everyone to read. When you post, try and consider if the other posters can make sense of it.
8) Please use italics for telepathy and non-face-to-face communications. Including combadge use. Please no more of the =/\= stuff. Thoughts should be depicted by the underline symbol.
9) Do not use emoticons please. Not that anyone should need it...
10) Please refrain from making one liner posts such as "Aye sir." and thats it. I'm not asking for a huge paragraph, but try and write "Aye sir". (Insert character name here) goes to the station and carries out the order.
11) Please post this before posting anything else -Location, specific spot-. For example, -USS Gaia, Bridge-
12) IMPORTANT RULE: No God-modding. Do not control other characters unless the said character has given permission to do so. Do not make your character extremely powerful. Everyone, including mine, must have a weakness.

GREEN = Posts regularly / New Member.
YELLOW = Posts semi-regularly.
RED = Inactive, and may be removed.
BLUE = Excused from posting

Please Note that this crew is NOT a new crew. We are all to act like we have been together for three years, and you may talk with other RPers of characters to figure out if you worked with one of them before the commissioning of the ship.
So, in short, unlike most RPGs this crew is NOT a new crew. We are to pretend like we've been with each other for three years.

Bonus:+ Type XI Phasers. The premise and mixing of RPGs is a nice idea.

Character Rules: (Source: Founder's Star Trek: Gaia)

1: Cannot be a character from the shows. Ex. Janeway, Sisko, Picard.
2: Cannot be an alien species that isn't in the Federation. Ex. Vorta, Q, A Borg Drone, Klingon, Romulan, etc. etc. etc. UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE A CREATIVE REASON WHY THEY ARE THERE.
3: Can not be related to a main character unless distant. None of this Picard's illegitimate son stuff.
4: Please take into consideration that you do not have to be a Starfleet officer. You can be a civilian, trader, etc, etc. Be creative. Although there is a limit for these "special" ranks.

Joining Rules:

Biographical Profiles of the Crew of the USS Eagle Star:

Username: Republican_Man
Name: James Reiman
Age: 54
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position: Captain
Appearance: See Picture
Background: James was born in England into a family of Roman Catholics--one of the few thousand remaining Catholics on Earth, and one of the million spread throughout the quadrant, particularly on Catholic Colony. His parents were both devout Catholics, and he was thus brought up as a Catholic. As a child Reiman had heard stories of the exploits of Starfleet legends like Christopher Pike and James T. Kirk. It intrigued him to no end, and as a child he became obsessed with space and Starfleet, an obsession which soon gave him a choice for a career: Starfleet.

Going into the Academy, though, he expected his eventual retirement from Starfleet, and determined that he wished to create a family at some point. As Reiman went through his academy years, starting late at the age of 24, and rose up through the ranks as a Starfleet officer, he kept his faith to himself, practicing either in his own room, in the Holodecks, or in the Church itself. He did not broadcast it amongst his colleagues, for multiple reasons. But when a crewmember would die, Reiman would openly say a prayer for that crewmember and the forgiveness of the sin of he who was committing that act, or an attack on others. And yet, though he would openly say a prayer upon a comrades death, he would not otherwise broadcast his faith. He saw it as a personal matter more than anything.

As a cadet in the Academy, James Reiman met his future wife, Kristin, with whom he soon formed a relationship. For his first assignment he was torn apart from her and placed on board the USS Rutherford for a short-lived assignment as an ensign in security. He was soon transferred over to the USS Knight, on which he regrouped with Kristin, whom he married one year later, in 2358. One year after that he successfully found himself thrust into the rank of lieutenant taking little time to achieve that rank and serving on the bridge as a superior tactical officer. That same year his wife gave birth to a daughter, Jayden, prompting her to decide to resign her commission as an engineer, remaining on the ship as a civilian until the battle against the Borg at Wolf 359. In 2363, Reiman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, being assigned to the role of Secondary Tactical Officer. A little over a year later he replaced the then-current Chief Tactical Officer to reprise that role after she died of natural causes.

Subsequently, in 2367, the USS Knight was dispatched to the Battle of Wolf 359. Prior to this battle James successfully convinced Kristin of the need to leave with the other civilians so as to protect their daughter. Luckily, though the ship was destroyed at the battle, James managed to escape, along with several others. After six years of respite from Starfleet, with James originally intending on resigning after that terrible ordeal, he was convinced of a need to return to Starfleet by his long-time friend, Captain Jeffery Revan, who was in need of a new Chief Security/Tactical Officer to fight in the Dominion War on board Revans ship, the USS Abraham. Upon acceptance of the position, Revan promoted him to the rank of Commander, declaring that he would be next in line to become First Officer of the Abraham. Throughout this, however, Reiman declined to allow his family to reside on the ship for his concerns over the war.

Soon enough, a year later, Reiman was promoted to First Officer on board the Abraham. In 2376, after the war had ended, James was offered the opportunity to advance his career by transferring over to the USS Eagle Star as First Officer. This assignment would allow for him a better chance to receive a command of his own. He accepted, and was thusly transferred over to the Eagle Star. Reiman asked that his wife and daughter join him on the ship; however, his daughter had already firmly established herself on Earth and was about to go off to a non-Starfleet medical education establishment. She therefore declined, but Kristin decided in favor of doing so once Jayden went off to school; and thusly, in 2377, when Jayden went off to school, Kristin decided to join him on the ship.

At the tail end of that same year, when Captain Wei Peng Ni was promoted to the rank of Admiral, Commander James Reiman found himself Captain James Reiman of the USS Eagle Star, with Hiro Hasegawa transferring over from the USS Europa to take on the role of First Officer. Three years later, in 2380, Reimans daughter, Jayden, now a mere age 21, married an up-and-coming Federation politician four years her senior, Jack Hannity. Reiman, skeptical of the marriage (for he was skeptical of politicians and the idea of his daughter being married to a man four years older than him), grudgingly accepted the marriage and was overjoyed when, less than a year later, he found out that he would soon be a grandfather to a boy eventually named James, after Jaydens father.

With the outbreak of the Nautolian War, Reiman began to worry for the safety of his ship and his wife. Should the ship be destroyed, his daughter would be without a mother as well as a father, his granddaughter short two grandparents. He therefore managed to convince Kristin to return to Earth, where she would conceivably be safe from the war and he could fight without concern for her safety. Little did he know that he would be forcibly torn apart from his family, leaving his wife, daughter, and grandson behind for an uncertain amount of time...

Once he was old enough, he attended Starfleet Academy in San Franciso. He knew that from the beginning, he wanted to become a captain of his own starship. Hiro excelled at a myriad of positions, but found command the most enthralling. He graduated and served as the OPS officer of an Miranda class starship, the USS Kepler. He served on that one ship for years until it was destroyed in 2374 during Operation Return. By that point, he was a lieutenant commander/second officer. Hiro went on to temporarily serve onboard the USS Europa before finally being promoted in 2377 and given the position of first officer of the Eagle Star.

Username: La Forge
Name: Sakura Ogawa
Age: 31
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Position Requested: Chief Operaions Officer
Appearance: N/A (picture available)
Background: Born in Seoul, South Korea on July 14, 2350 to Kazuo and Mitsuko Ogawa, Sakura was an average ordinary child. Her family, a traditional Starfleet family, brought her up, traditionally, teaching her in the ways of her people and of Starfleet beliefs. Her father had been a simple science officer aboard the U.S.S. Lansing, a Galaxy-class vessel, while her mother had been a civilian wife, who lived onboard the Lansing, raising Sakura. When Sakura was sixteen, with her father's blessing, she applied for the Academy and was accepted. At first, she studied in the field of science, as her father had done. However, her teachers had recommended her to be a command officer. Sakura complied and changed her major to the command field. Four years later, Sakura had graduated from the Academy, salutatorian of her class. The young Korean woman, aged twenty at the time, was assigned to the U.S.S. Farragut, an Excelsior-class vessel, as an operations officer. Sakura served aboard the Farragut for two years, until the outbreak of the Second Klingon-Federation War. During this time, the Federation colony of Ajilon Prime was underattack by the Klingons, despite a recent ceasefire called by Chancellor Gowron. The Farragut was dispatched as reinforcement for the Klingon-beseiged colony. However, the Klingons intercepted the vessel and destroyed it. Sakura was one of the lucky few who had managed to escape, via escape pods. Sakura and the other survivors were rescued by the U.S.S. Defiant, captained by the legendary Benjamin Sisko, which had also been dispatched to assist Ajilon Prime. Sakura assisted in the liberation of Ajilon Prime before being taken back to Earth, to await a new assignment. During her time between assignements, Sakura met a man by the name of Ethan Wood, a security officer of the same age and rank as her. The two hit it off and became close friends and eventually lovers. While the two eventually were assigned to different vessels, she to the Tecumseh and he to the Cortz, the two remained in contact and maintained a long-range relationship. However, that year, the Dominion War began. Sakura, now a Lieutenant and the Chief Operations Officer aboard the Tecumseh, managed to avoid most of the bloodiest fighting in the war. However, the Cortz was in the thick of the fighting, involved in Operation Return. Sadly, the Cortz was destroyed and lost all hands, to the combined Dominion and Cardassian forces. Sakura, however, did not learn of this until nearly two months after the fact. Heartbroken, as the two had agreed to marry after the war, Sakura took a brief leave of absence, to cope with his loss. She spent some time back on Earth, with her now retired parents in South Korea, before resuming her position back on the Tecumseh, where she served until the end of the war. At the war's end, Sakura, now a Lieutenant Commander, was transferred to the newly-commissioned Excelsior-class vessel, the U.S.S. Eagle Star, to serve as her Chief Operations and Helm Officer. Three years later, Sakura has continued to serve in her position, dutifully, through the outbreak of the Nautolian War.

Captains Log, Stardate 58330.12:

The
Eagle Star has arrived at Deep Space Guardian to mass with the 12th fleet, to be commanded by Admiral Jeffery Revan. The Nautolians have begun an advance into Federation space, despite their recent defeat at this very station. We will soon be dispatched to the Akrolon system to fend off against the Nautolian advance into Federation colonial territory. It is anticipated that they will soon target the Akrolon system.

Having fought on a few fronts already, my crew is under an unusual amount of stress. Recollection of the Dominion War is omnipresent amongst this crew, and I cannot help but recall my first days on board the
Eagle Star as First Officer, coming aboard from the USS Abraham. The war was still raging then, and I had faced many battles in it. How the Lord could allow such things to occur, I considered, was beyond my comprehension. I still consider it today, as a matter of fact, but such thoughts have been considered for millennia, through numerous wars.

And now another one is upon us, and we must face yet another battle with our evil foe. I am always consumed with concern over the possibility that this conflict might bring to rise, once and for all, Consummation. That is to say, the enaction of the Bibles Book of Revelations.

There is a man out there, essentially claiming to be God. One who has brought a great deal of tragedy to this galaxy. I fear or, rather, perhaps I hope that it is that time, that time which the Bible foretold, that time which will at last bring us to peace with Jesus, which will at last bring peace to the galaxy. *sigh*

I wanted to have a brief lunch with my old friend, Captain Ian Xavier, before the rest of the fleet arrives and we leave to face our fate. Hes been under a lot of stress lately, with the losses he experienced on this station the last few months and all, and I figure itd be a good experience for the both of us.

End log.

--DSG, Promenade--
Captain James Reiman, the 54-year-old commanding officer of the USS Eagle Star, treaded down the promenade of Deep Space Guardian, the station at which the 12th fleet was now massing, observing the hustle and bustle of station relaxation activity.

All around him there were individuals relaxing, purchasing products, enjoying food and drinks, and so forth. He passed by a Ferengi restaurant on his way to the Logical Restaurant, the location at which he was to meet with Captain Ian Xavier, commanding officer of the station. It was a Vulcan restaurant, for Xavier was quite keen on Vulcan foods, and Reiman had a taste for it as well.

The starship captain arrived at the restaurant, entered it, and looked around for his friend.

PLEASE NOTE: Only I am on board the station. The rest of the senior staff is on the ship preparing to leave. Also note that we have all been together for the past three years, or, at least, different points within the last three years. Any questions? PM me.

+ 4 Dilithium. Good job with starting.

U.S.S. Eagle Star, Quarters

A young Asian woman, dressed in standard Starfleet uniform, with a red undershirt, identifying her as in the command division of Starfleet, with three pips on her collar, two gold and one black, indicating her as a Lieutenant Commander, sat at a lamp-light desk, in her dim quarters, writing a letter on a PADD.

Her name was Sakura Ogawa. A traditional Japanese name, despite her Korean heritage. Centuries ago, Korea had been annexed by Japan and the people of Korea were forced to change their names to comply with that of the Japanese. While, eventually, the Koreans were allowed to revert their names back to their former Korean ones, Sakura's ancestors had kept their Japanese name. Her long black hair was tied up in a bun, with a butterfly beret keeping her hair up. The beret had been an engagement gift from her, now long dead, fianc, Ethan Wood. Now, she wore it everyday, except while on duty, as per Starfleet regulations, as a tribute to her dead lover. How dearly she missed him. Why had the Dominion taken him away from her? Over a squabble about beliefs? About space? About power? Who knew, anymore? The reasons behind the Dominion War were long lost in her mind. However, one thing was for sure, her Ethan was gone because of the war and, for this, she would never forgive the Dominion.

Now, to boot, another war had begun, a war about power and domination. This time, the war was against the Nautolians, a mysterious spiritual race from the edges of the Beta Quadrant. Their leader, former Starfleet officer, Sit Fito, now known as Imperator Obsidian, had started the war, making the first move, by attacking the Federation space station, Deep Space Guardian, his former home, as it were, where the man had served as First Officer. Now, the Eagle Star was docked at the station, several months after that fateful day, preparing to head out, to combat the Nautolian threat.

In any case, the young Korean woman continued work on a letter she had been working on, to send to her parents, back on Earth. Ever since the outbreak of the Nautolian War, her parents had been worried about their daughter's safety. What good parent wouldn't be worried about their child's safety in a time of danger? Sakura loved her parents, dearly. The two had been instrumental in her life. Her parents were loving and caring, yet firm in the upbringing of their child, raising Sakura in a traditional Starfleet family, as her father had been in Starfleet, at the time, while teaching her the ways of her people. Her parents had been good parents.

The letter read...

"Dear Uma and Apa...Please don't worry about me. I'm fine. After all, I am a grown woman. I can look out for myself. I don't need you two to constantly look after me...Though...I do appreciate it. These are truly dark times. With a war looming over us, so soon after the last one, the Federation is in a dilemma. And...ever since I lost Ethan...I don't know what to do, anymore. Everyday, I mourn for him. Every single day. I loved him. I will never forget the day when Ethan proposed to me...I cried...I cried tears of joy. Now, I can only cry tears of sorrow. It's as if all of the happiness in my life has been sucked out of me, through a tube or something. There is an empty place in my heart, which I doubt will ever be filled, again. I don't understand it, anymore. Enough of my rambling, though. I should get to the real reason for writing you. I wanted to tell you that I'm going on a big mission soon. The Eagle Star is docked at Deep Space Guardian, now. That's the station that was attacked by that bastard, Fito. Anyways, it is an important mission. I'm not supposed to talk about it, though. I might be gone for awhile. I just wanted to let you guys know that I love you and I can't wait to see you, again. Please, write back, okay? I would love to hear from you. Anything to help clear that black cloud above the Federation, nowadays. Well...Goodbye. Don't worry about me too much. I hope to see you soon. Perhaps, when I get back, we can vacation in Jeju. I love the beaches there. Sincerely, your loving daughter, Sakura."

Sakura read over the PADD, for a moment, satisfied with what she had wrote, with a faint smile on her thin lips, before she finally set the PADD down on the desk surface and rising from her seat, flattening the folds in her uniform with her hands, as she did so. She looked down at the PADD, briefly, deciding to send it later. At length, Sakura deactivated the lamp and strode across the red carpet to the exit of her quarters. She exitted her room, ordering the Computer to deactivate the lights in her quarter, in her soft silky voice, before leaving for the Bridge of the Excelsior-class vessel. She had some preparations to make before the starship was to depart for the Akrolon system.

+ 7 Dilithium. Good post.

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Bridge-

Thomas Savior stood at his post, tactical, on the bridge. He looked around. The crew had been through a lot the past three years. Savior himself had been injured during the war. He got a scar he elected to keep afterward. He called it a memorial. He looked back to his console. Hed customized it when he became the Chief Tactical officer. Hed been able to squeeze just a little more out of it than the average Excelsior class. The war required that they be innovative if the occasion called for it.
and the war definitely called for it. He whispered silently.

+ 2 Dilithium. Nice, mysterious intro. to your char.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

The bridge of the Excelsior class refit was bustling with activity as officers rushed back and forth. The vessel was being fully stocked with torpedoes and having diagnostics being done to ensure that everything was running perfectly. Engineers from the space station, Deep Space Guardian, were onboard and running non-stop diagnostics. Soon, the Eagle Star would join the 12th fleet and move towards the Akrolon system to defend very distant Federation colonies from the Nautolians. Commander Hiro Hasegawa stood in front of the captain's chair that sat directly in the center of the bridge. He was yelling at various officers, ordering them to complete their tasks. While they were by no means behind schedule, Hiro was about to allow them to fall behind. The captain of the vessel had beamed over to the large space station and was meeting an old friend. The Japanese officer was left in charge while the captain left. He looked around the bridge while people continued to yell at each other. His eyes darted towards the clear viewscreen in the bridge. It was no large, but by no means small either. The viewscreen was showing the interior of the space dock.

Other ships from the fleet were currently docked and in the same position as the Eagle Star. They too were being fully stocked before departing towards the Akrolon system. Hiro was slightly hesitant about coming to this station of all stations in Federation space. DSG was the station closest to Nautolian space and they were seriously at risk. He cared deeply for the crew and didn't like the idea of risking his officers, even for an extra torpedo or two. Of course, his opinion was of no consequence since they were required to come here and join the fleet. Hiro also didn't like the idea that initial orders would come from some admiral, rather then the captain. He trusted Reiman over any other commanding officer. Hiro sighed and gently sat down in the captain's seat as the officers from DSG and the Eagle Star rushes past each other, yelling about upgrades. One officer that was yelling particularly loudly was a Tiburon named Hualto Lodhra. He was the current chief of engineering and had fiery temper. A young dark skinned engineer from DSG looked back at at Hualto in annoyance and motioned towards the console.

"That is not acceptable," He yelled, "There is definitly a better way route the power flow from deck one to all lower decks. This is too sloppy and chaotic. Starfleet regulations state-"

Hualto took a step back as if he was slapped in the face. To him, this was his starship. It was his to upgrade as he pleased.

"You listen here you little snot nosed brat," He said, "I have my own system and that system has worked for years. I'm not going to have some no name engineer from some no named station try and correct me. You know what? What's your name, I'm reporting you to the chief engineer of your station."

The officer scoffed and took a step forward until he was mere inches away from Hualto's face.

"Ensign Mark Bengali," He said, "Assistant chief of engineering onboard Deep Space Guardian. Go ahead and report me, but lieutenant Grey would be in complete agreement with me."

Hiro, unable to listen to anymore, stood up from his seat and approached the engineering section of the bridge.

"Both of you, stop it," He ordered, "Ensign Bengali, I understand that the system on the Eagle Star is different from what you're used to, but as lieutenant commander Lodhra just stated, it's an efficient system and it works. Please, we just need diagnostics, not upgrades. I'm asking you to please leave the system as they are."

Bengali slowly nodded, but didn't immediatly say anything. Finally, he looked back at Hualto and snapped his engineering kit closed.

"Fine," He said, "We're almost done here anyways."

With a last look to the Tiburon, he walked off the bridge and presumably headed back to the space station. Hiro looked back at the smirking engineer who looked as if he won a battle.

"Commander," He said, "Try and...be more neutral shall we?"

Hualto's smirk quickly fadded, "Understood sir."

"Good," Hiro said while heading back to his chair, "Oh and I haven't recieved the report from your station. I asked for it twenty minutes ago."

Hualto nodded and rushed off the bridge, heading towards main engineering. Hiro shook his head in slight annoyance and sat back down. While heading towards his seat, he had noticed the chief tactical officer standing at his post. No doubt he too didn't want pesky officers from DSG to mess with his format. He gave a quick nod to the officer before finally settling in his chair. A young officer, an ensign, approached Hiro and handed him a PADD filled with status reports. He took it and read over it, noting it was from the science department. Ensign Carmen Santos, the chief science officer of the Eagle Star, calmly waited for Hiro to say something. His eyes looked up at her and he smiled.

"Looks good ensign," He said, "Thorough and complete as usual."

The Hispanic woman smiled and without another word, walked towards her post in preperation. Unlike the others, she hadn't been on the ship for that long. She was new and had joined a few months prior to the current stardate. The old chief science officer was promoted and given a position on the USS Discovery, an Intrepid class starship. Before Hiro could read the status report in full detail, another PADD was placed in front of him. Hiro looked up to see a Denobulan named Thox, who served as the chief medical officer, standing before him.

"What, do you all finish the reports at the same time?" He joked.

Thox tilted his head in curiosity, not understanding the "joke". Hiro shook his head, not wanting to explain.

"Never mind," He said, taking the PADD, "Thanks."

The Denobulan nodded and rushed off the bridge, no doubt wanting to see if the items he requested from DSG had arrived. He had to seek the approval first from the chief medical officer of DSG, Julianna Roberts, before the items could be sent over. Hiro stared at the PADDs and began to read, having little else to do while the diagnostics, refueling, and preperations continued.

-DSG, Logical Restaurant-

Ian Xavier, captain of the space station: Deep Space Guardian, sat at a table inside of a small Vulcan restaurant. It was mainly empty except for himself and one other officer, naturally a Vulcan, at another table. Ian didn't frequent this establishment as often as he'd like. While the food was good, the look was terrible. Vulcans weren't the type to make things look extravagent and the restaurant had a plain, bare look to it. One waiter was the only person inside that was an employee as far as Ian could tell. Many of the civilian population of DSG were still trying to get over Fito's attack which had claimed the lives of many civilians. Naturally, bussiness was monumentally slow. He had ordered Vulcan spice tea and had helped himself while he awaited his old friend, James Reiman. The two had met while Ian was stationed at DS5 as the first officer. The Eagler Star was stationed nearby and would constantly go to DS5 for repairs, upgrades, and more. However, it had been a year since he met with James since taking command of DSG. When he heard that James' ship would be part of the ships joining the fleet, he extended an invitation for dinner before James had to leave to the Akrolon system. Ian was taking a sip of the warm drink when he noticed the white haired officer enter the restaurant. Ian stood up and flagged James over with a wave of his hand.

"James," He said, "Over here."

--DSG, Logical Restaurant--
Captain James Reiman glimpsed Captain Ian Xavier at the corner of his eye. He looked more attentively at the man as he saw his friend wave him over and say, James. Over here.

Reiman walked over to Xaviers table with a pleasant smile. It had been over a year since the Eagle Star had last traveled through Deep Space 5 and met with Ian far too long, in the older mans opinion. Seeing his friend was a sight for sore eyes, especially considering the turmoil he knew Xavier to have gone through. No matter how close the friend, it always took its toll on the Catholic to see his friends go through travesties such as Xaviers.

Hello, old friend, he greeted as he arrived at the table. He pulled out a chair and sat, glancing around the room. Some place you got here, he said, glancing up briefly before looking back down, a sly smile crossing his face.

Reiman noticed the plain nature of the Vulcan establishment. The Vulcans never had a taste or a desire for extravagant and nice-looking, for lack of a better term, designs for establishments, whether they be food or otherwise. It came, however, from their emotion-void brains which processed neither an understanding of nor a wish for an understanding of the better parts of life. That is, the decorative stylings of those with emotions, such as humans.

James would have certainly preferred a nicer place before going off to battle, but this would do. Vulcan food was often quite plain, but it was a pleasant experience, nonetheless.

Howve you been, Ian? he said, a loose yet recognizable British accent emanating from his mouth along with his words. War and that bastard aside. Of course he was referring to Fito with the latter.

The man had been Xaviers First Officer. A Nautolian with high credentials, Sit Fito used to be considered a loyal Starfleet officer and a peaceable person. Of this James knew, for he had met the Nautolian once before nearly three years back. Now, though, the perceived loyal Starfleet officer had turned his back upon his station, his crew, his captain, the government to which he swore allegiance, and, in a sense, his own people.

From what little Reiman knew of the Nautolians, he did know the basics of their culture and life prior to Fitos Empire and how radically different their world now was how corrupt Fito had unmistakably made the once-peaceful people.

Considering Fitos status and Xaviers trust in him, James was fully aware of his friends shock and awe, so to speak, at Fitos betrayal, for it was both quite obvious and understandable. He may not have been in contact with his colleague for over a year now, but he could easily tell what his feelings were, for he knew how he would feel in such a situation. To have ones First Officer betray you and not only that, but begin a war with your country? That surely wouldnt be a good experience, and Reiman full sympathized with him.

-U.S.S. Eagle Star, Deck Four, Tracy Nirel's Quarter's-

The room was filled with the foggy steam from the hot water that poured out of the shower head in the shower. The occupant of the shower, Lieutenant Tracy Nirel, the Eagle Star's Human/Betazoid Chief Counselor was using actual hot water today, instead of the normal, faster sonic mode. She could come up with lots of reasons, it killed some time, it was a change of place, it was something different. Plain and simple, though the reason she used the hot water was because it felt good.

Tracy let out a moan of content, basking in the warmth of the water. She could stand there all day, however her duties would not allow that. In fact, she could already very well be late. Tracy, who had her face directed to the stream of water looked down and slowly opened her eyes. Tracy reached out and turned off the water and shivered when a cold breeze had moved though the stall, thanks to the ships ventilation system.

Nirel reached for a towel to dry off as she exited the stall, passing by the fogged up mirror, which from the heat, was just one big unusable blur, instead of reflection her image back at her.

Tracy moved from the bathroom into her quarters, heading for the table where she had laid out her uniform earlier. She had roughly eight more minutes to spend before she had to exit her quarters, get her status reports, and head to the bridge to report to her friend, and commanding officer, Hiro Hasegawa.

Nirel smiled at that, she had always liked talking to Hiro, even if it was strictly business. He was one that was always kind to her, right from the start when she was a shy, withdrawn young ensign that sat alone in the dark corner of the empty table in the mess hall.

Tracy, who now dressed in her tank and shorts, looked into the mirror to style her hair. Hiro and the Captain had let her wear it below the neck, but on the condition that she kept it neat and tied back during on duty hours. With that, she used her brush to smooth out her hair then used a hair piece to fashion her hair into a 'pony tail'

Tracy saw the scar on her leg in the corner of her eye, the shorts did not go all the way down to her knee, as such part of the knee to chest scar was visible. It was also partially visible at the hip as her tank top ended at her waist.

The young Human/Betazoid woman sighed and reached for her blue departmental shirt to which she placed on, followed by her pants to allow ease with tucking in the color shirt. Tracy then stood and reached for her outer jacket and placed it on, but did not yet zip it, instead placing her combadge on the proper place. Taking one last look at the mirror, Tracy reached for her perfume, the lightly scented liquid to which she sprayed on her slightly, giving an aura of an ocean breeze.

Tracy studied her reflection for a second more and offered her self a warm smile. With that, she shifted, turning on her heels and heading for the doors.

"Computer, lower light level to unoccupied setting" Tracy ordered.

The computer chirped and lowered the light to a custom setting she had made; the light was now just bright enough to see where you were going should you enter.

Tracy looked down and slightly fumbled with the zipper of her jacket, to zip it up as she exited her quarters into the busy hallway.

-U.S.S. Eagle Star, Deck Four, Corridor-

Tracy moved though the corridor, walking almost delicately, and nodding and returning smiles to the various officers as she headed for the turbolift. She would need to take a quick ride to deck ten to her office, gather her materials she needed, then head to the bridge.

Tracy lowered her guard a little, and reached out with her empathic abilities, to feel the emotions of those around her. She was slammed with a variety of emotions, ranging from excitement, to nervousness, to annoyance and anger. The latter two was most likely from arguments with the ship and station personnel, over how many of the consoles and systems on the 'S.E.' as she heard some call the ship, was shall we say...customized.

"Deck ten" Tracy ordered as she entered the turbolift.

-U.S.S. Eagle Star, Turbolift-

Tracy folded her hands behind her back as she waited for the turbolift to move down six decks to her destination. To keep her self busy, Tracy thought over the events of the last few days, she had been quite busy, meeting with the ship personnel, and getting updates on their psych reports. It was a long, and exhaustive process, and getting some to report in to their appointment was a pain in her rear. Thankfully, she was able to order it, or threaten involvement of Hiro, or James, the Captain.

-U.S.S. Eagle Star, Deck Ten, Corridor-

The engines to the turbocar stopped and the doors hissed open. Tracy stood tall and let out a sigh and moved though the doors. The corridors of this deck were even busier. Tracy moved down the corridor, and turned a corner when she heard someone yelling at her.

"Tracy! Tracy Nirel! Wait!"

Tracy turned to see the source of the voice and saw it was someone who worked in her department, one Jackie Benson. Tracy smiled to the young ensign, fresh from the academy. When Jackie started, Tracy said that calling each other by ranks or titles was dumb, her name was Tracy, not Lieutenant, or Counselor.

"Hello, Jackie, what can I do for you?"

Jackie stopped in front of Tracy, panting; she had to have been running for several minutes. It was just now that Tracy noticed the PADD in Jackie's hands.

"I...I have...the...I have the...the PADD you...needed."

Jackie handed her superior officer the PADD with the status report updates. Jackie was starting to catch her breath slowly as Tracy skimmed it. She had already known the updates, and Jackie was assigned the task of compiling it all into a PADD. Jackie quickly spoke again.

"I was trying to save you a trip, but there is a lag in the computer, took longer then I expected, sorry Ma...Tracy."

Tracy nodded appreciative of the gesture. It was certainly something she would have enjoyed, if she didnt have to come to deck ten. It was fine though, she could look things over.

"Thank you, Jackie," Tracy said, "I've got to go to the bridge, now. I'll see you later, ok?"

Jackie nodded and turned to run off down the corridor, doing what ever else she had to do to prepare for departure. Tracy turned back for the turbolift looking down at the PADD, skimming over the various names of the crew. It was a good report, for the most part. There was a few that she had some concerns over, but didn't see any reason to have them removed from the ship, not if they went with further counseling. The war had cost so many, so much already.

-U.S.S. Eagle Star, Turbolift-

"Bridge" Tracy ordered, as she studied the PADD.

One name that stuck out to Tracy was Kyle Smith, a young man in the security department. He had family on the station apparently when Fito, or Obsidian, what ever that sick, no good poor excuse for a form of life called himself, had attacked the Station. Smith was in a depression, and was able for the most part to continue with his work, but it was slowly beginning to affect his duty.

-U.S.S. Eagle Star, Deck One, Bridge-

The doors opened to the bridge and Tracy stepped out. Right away, she almost ran into an engineer. Tracy let out a yelp as she backed up, barely avoiding crashing into the poor man.

"Sorry" he mumbled and brushed passed her.

Tracy could feel the embarrassment ooze from the young officer, and she watched him enter a turbolift, almost pitying him. Nirel turned towards the center of the bridge, at the Captain's chair and smirked. Hiro certainly looked...comfortable in the seat. He looked good in it to. Tracy moved over to the seat and cleared her throat.

"Hello, Commander," Tracy said, keeping things formal with others around, "I have that update on the crew psyche reports that you wanted."

Tracy held out the PADD towards Hiro, her friend. She smiled warmly at him waiting for any questions he may have.

Ian watched as friend took a seat, then follow in turn. He sat directly across from the starship captain.

"Jim," Ian said, calling him by his nickname, "It's been far too long, too damn long. I've....well....save for all of the terrible things that have happened, I've been ok."

He thought about what had been going on in his life at the time. His chief tactical officer, Ziona Andreas, had returned to the station and Ian unintentionally expressed his feelings for her. Although, that was not something he would talk about now.

"My life has been complicated," He said, "Too complicated to speak about Jim. What about you? Any new adventures of the Eagle Star?

Since he was stationed at DS5, not ever really going anywhere, he enjoyed Jim's stories about the ship's missions and adventures.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Hiro took the PADD from the counselor and smiled up at his old friend. The two had served onboard the Kepler until it was destroyed during the Dominion war. They seperated for a few years until they both came to serve on the Excelsior class starship.

"Thanks Tracy." He said, calling her by first name.

He wasn't about to go formal on her, just as she didn't have to with him. Hiro placed the PADD to the side along with the others.

"So far, so good." He told her.

There was no doubt that using he empathic abilities, she could pick out the fear that hid within him.

U.S.S. Eagle Star, Bridge

Lieutenant Commander Sakura Ogawa arrived on the Bridge of the Excelsior-class starship, the U.S.S. Eagle Star, about ten minutes after departing from her own quarters. On her way to the Bridge, she had bumped into Lieutenant Commander Hualto Lodhra, a Tiburon man and the Chief Engineer aboard the starship. The man was in quite a rush and looked a bit flustered. However, the Tiburon male always looked a bit flustered. Lodhra had a temper on him, though, the engineer was a good man, deep down. Being the Chief Operations Officer aboard the ship, Sakura frequently worked with Hualto and had learned to befriend the man, in the three years she had served aboard the Eagle Star. Hualto was a good man, if not a bit...protective about the Eagle Star, to say the least. Sakura had spoken a friendly 'Hello' to Hualto, who responded with a curt nod, before she had continued on her way, towards the Bridge. She had also stumbled upon the Chief Medical Officer aboard the ship, a Denobulan named Thox. The man was in a hurry and had pushed right past the Korean woman. Sakura let a sigh escape her lips. Thox was always running about, a worker bee. The man was certainly...unique. Sakura liked the man, though Thox was a bit...odd...at times. The Denobulan was intelligent, a plethora of information. You could ask him anything and he would tell you the answer and more. A talkative fellow, Thox was. In any case, Sakura simply shrugged her shoulders and continued on her way to the Bridge.

On the bustling Bridge, which was crowded, full of busy officers, preparing for the Twelfth Fleet's upcoming operation to the Akrolon system, to repel the imminent Nautolian attack on the Federation system, Sakura strode across the Bridge, over towards her station, the Operations station, in the front of the Bridge. She brushed past the Chief Science Officer aboard the ship, Ensign Carmen Santos, a nice Hispanic woman. Carmen was new, fresh out of the Academy, oblivious to the corruption and evil in the galaxy. However, Sakura had found the young woman to be a good person, one of the few left in the dark universe. Sakura didn't know the woman too well, as she was new. Sakura nodded to the young woman, with a polite smile on her face, as she made her way to her station. Ensign Santos had nodded, in response, as she made her way to her own post.

Over at her station, Sakura sat down and activated her computer console, to retrieve her department report, which was due to Commander Hiro Hagesawa, the First Officer of the Eagle Star, that morning. Sakura inserted a blank PADD into a port into the computer and downloaded the report, which she had wrote the night before, to the blank PADD. Once the download was complete, she took the PADD out of the port in the console and rose from her seat and strode back across the Bridge, to where Commander Hagesawa stood, beside the Counselor aboard the Eagle Star, Lieutenant Tracy Nirel. Sakura waited for the two to finish before stepping forward.

Tracy smiled at Hiro as he took the PADD. She reached out and felt...fear? Tracy frowned and crouched down next to the chair and lowered her voice.

"Hiro," she whispered, "What's wrong?"

Savior watched as the people around him spoke. He caught bits and pieces, then again, he wasnt really listening. He knew he wouldnt want to be eavesdropped on. Thomas kept to himself occasionally. Hed gotten to know the crew during his time here. Being an orphan hed learned to appreciate the generosity of others and was always there if someone needed him. Hed been told his parents died in a shuttle accident when he was 3. He only survived because hed been with a friend of the family at the time. Afterwards he was raised by them. So, he was as close to this crew as he was to his adoptive family. He was there for them and they had his back too. An indicator began blinking on his console. It was time for his security rounds. He reset the console to standard and turned to the officer next to him.
Take over, Its time for my rounds. The officer nodded and took over. Savior stepped into a lift.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Sensing the fear within the first officer, Tracy knelt next to him and attempted to ascertain the source of it. However, before Hiro could explain it, the chief OPS/Helmsman stood nearby, holding her department's report in one hand. While he considered Sakura a good friend and an excellant sparring partner, he didn't want her to hear what he was saying. He looked back at the chief counselor.

"I'll explain later." He told her.

Hiro stood from the seat and approached the waiting Korean officer. He greeted her with a Japanese greeting and held out his hand for the PADD in his hand.

"Now I know that you're afraid to get back in the holodeck and go toe to toe with me," He joked, "But I'm getting rusty and I need someone to toss around."

Of course, he was only joking and the closeness of the crew was reflect in his joke. They had been through some tough times and had consistantly grown closer. His statement was not really accurate as Sakura, despite having a thin, smaller frame, was no push over in the holodeck.

Tracy had not noticed the Helm/Ops officer, Sakura approch at first, as she was concentraiting on her friend, trying to understand what was bothing him. Tracy gasped when she realized someone was standing next to her. Looking up, Tracy saw that it was Sakura.

"I'll explain later."

With that, Tracy nodded and stood.

"Hello, Ma'am" Tracy greeted the ships Helm/Ops officer. She cringed slightly, calling her by that, many on this ship didnt seem to want to go by titles.

U.S.S. Eagle Star, Bridge

"Commander. Lieutenant." Sakura greeted the two officers, Commander Hagesawa and Lieutenant Nirel, by their ranks, with a faint smile displayed on her thin lips. While Sakura believed she had come to know the crew onboard the Eagle Star well in her time there, she still called her fellow officers by their official rank and title, as she had grown up in a very formal Starfleet family. In fact, she had been taught to call her father "sir" and her mother "ma'am" while growing up. Sakura outstretched her arm, with the PADD containing her department report in hand, towards the Japanese man. "There is my report, sir." Sakura stated, simply, after handing the First Officer of the Eagle Star the PADD.

"Now I know that you're afraid to get back in the Holodeck and go toe to toe with me, but I'm getting rusty and I need someone to toss around." Hiro had joked, referring to the two's weekly sparring sessions in the Holodeck. Sakura was an expert of Tae Kwon Do, having been taught the Korean martial art by her father, while Hiro was trained in the art of Kendo along with a few others. Sakura cracked a wide grin at the Commander's remark.

"Of course, sir. Though, I hope you remember the sprained ankle you received the last time we sparred." Sakura reminded her superior officer and friend, jokingly, in a more casual manner than before.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Hiro smiled at Sakura's quick response to his friendly taunts.

"I'll have you know that quickly healed." He shot back.

He quickly scanned her PADD with his eyes and as always, it was excellant and detailed.

"Nicely done," He said, "It seems we're good to go on most ends. Now...if only engineering could send their report."

The officers on the bridge began to thin out as more and more duties were completed.

-USS Eagle Star, Corridor-

Lieutenant commander Hualto Lodhra was traversing the crowded corridors of the Excelsior class starship. Officers from the station and the ship rushed back and forth. He noticed a half Romulan, half Human officer from DSG speaking to one of the security officers onboard.

"You all don't have a Hazard Team?" He asked in surprise, "You really should develop one. While I'm still new, I know it helped DSG tons of time."

The security officer nodded his head in contemplation of the idea.

"I don't know commander Naruul," He said, "It seems like over kill."

The Tiburon chief of engineering agreed completely. There was too much tactical going on around the Federation now and too much forgetting about exploration. Hualto walked past them and continued towards main engineering, where his report for the department was waiting.

-USS Eagle Star, Sickbay-

Dr. Thox had recieved the items from Dr. Roberts moments ago by a quick transport and was overlooking them. The items of course was one liter of bio-mimetic gel, some Neurozine, and a pack of polynutrient solution. Now, they were fully stocked, at least when it came to sickbay. An engineer moved away from a console and approached the doctor who was placing the items in order.

"Doctor," He said, "I managed to restore all the files except for the EMH program."

The Denobulan looked up in surprise, perturbed by the news.

"What?" He said, "Why not?"

The engineer held out his tricorder, allowing the chief medical officer to look at the information.

"The damage was far too extensive," He explained, "The program is corrupted and I can't retrieve it. There is no time to upload a new Mark IV."

Several months back, the Eagle Star ran into a fierce plasma storm in attempt to save a civilian vessel. They had barely escaped, but took a lot of damage externally and internally. Thox lost several of his files and it seems the EMH Mark IV was lost as well.

"Don't worry about it," He said, "You still have the Mark I back up."

Thox scoffed loudly at the weak attempt to comfort him.

"Oh great," He said, "Old technology."

The engineer snapped his tricorder shut and placed it in the holster on his belt.

"Dr," He said, "How often do you use the EMH?"

The Denobulan replied, "Well...never..."

"Well," He said, "That settles that."

He snapped his engineering tool kit shut and began to walk out.

"Don't worry about it," He said, "In three months, you'll come back to the station for repair and I'll personally upload you a new one. Good day."

With that, he walked out of sickbay, leaving the Denobulan alone.

+ 4 Good post. Hmmm...We left space dock with out the EMH? When will we get it? Next tuesday?

U.S.S. Eagle Star, Bridge

"Nicely done. It seems we're good to go on most ends. Now...if only Engineering could send their report." Commander Hagesawa had said, after reading over Sakura's report on the PADD. Sakura smiled, happy the Commander thought the rather extensive report was satisfactory. She had spent a late night the previous night working on the report and she was still not satisfied, with it, personally. However, Sakura was a perfectionist, so that probably explained her reasoning for such thoughts.

"You know Hualto. The man's never satisfied with anything, always nitpicking at every single detail. You'll get your report, soon enough." Sakura joked about the Chief of Engineering, until she realized Lieutenant Nirel was still standing by. "Oh. I'm sorry, sir. Were you to in the middle of something? Don't let me interrupt. I still have some preparations to make, anyways. We still need some resources from DSG, but, it's taking them forever to ship the damn stuff to us, the slackers. Sayonara." Sakura explained, politely, with a gracious bow, before she spun about on her heel and quickly strode across the busy Bridge, over to the Operations station, leaving Hiro and Tracy, alone, to resume their discussion.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Tracy stood there a moment and sighed silently. She rather enjoyed that exchange between the two, for a moment, Hiro's mood seemed to lighten up. However, she could still sense the fear in him. Tracy decided to explore that some, she knew that what ever it was, Hiro should get it out. The last thing they needed was for the ship to enter combat and the First Officer be distracted by something. Tracy knelt down next to the seat again and simply studied her friend for a moment. She wouldnt force it out of him, no, he had to come to her. For now, she'd simply be a friend. Duties allowing of course, no doubt, she may have some things to finish before the fleet departed from the Station.

So, Hiro...you get all the reports yet?"

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Corridor-

Savior walked along the corridor. There was more activity today being that they were at DSG. He wasnt entirely comfortable with all the extra feet running around. He knew the people on his ship, he could trust them, but all these other people Trust was earned, not just handed out to anyone. The crew of the Eagle star had earned his. He liked to think by now hed earned theirs too. He walked over to a panel on the wall.
Computer, display the security grid for this section. The display showed a three dimensional view of the section he stood in. Hed implemented a number of measures since the war. Only three people on all the ship knew about them. Himself, the Captain and the First officer. Thomas deactivated the display and tapped his combadge.
Savior to Teams Alpha and Beta, report to the cargo bay for the weekly briefing. Hed come to respect the hastiness of his security forces. They were always on time and faster than a Jackrabbit during emergencies. Fortunately the cargo bays were on the same deck as he was on and it wouldnt take him long to get there.

+ 1 Dilithium. Nice detail.

--DSG, Logical Restaurant--
The 54-year-old man gave a kindly smile to his friend. Always the good listener, Ian would listen attentively to many of the stories James had to offer - and he did have many. He could recall the many times when the Eagle Star stopped at DS5 and he would share with Xavier the tales of their missions and assignments, something which a station officer could not personally experience, save for those rare occasions.

Reiman thought for a moment. What could he tell him? There was so much going on it was hard to discern a single story to share. But he came up with an answer.

"The war," he said simply, following the statement with a sigh. "That's what we've been experiencing, left and right." He let out another deep sigh. "First we were dispatched to DS9. Not many ships were sent for support, but we were one of them, and that, needless to say, didn't go well. We had no choice but to retreat and, naturally, the station fell. That was a great loss. It was a travesty. I lost some brave, close crewmen in that battle, including the original Chief Engineer of the ship." Reiman shook his head.

"That bastard's reining havoc upon us all, and this is just the beginning. I can only think about the tragedies to come, and, needless to say, I don't like their prospects." A brief pause ensued, then a continuation. "Following DS9 we had a stint at the Federation colony world of Tarulos IV. After that we were dispatched to patrol the DMZ for a couple weeks, encountering a few Cardassian imbeciles every so often, enveloping into a few skirmishes. We were allowed two days of shore leave and then called here after returning to the DMZ for another week."

He leaned back casually in his chair. "I've got little more than that to tell you, Ian," he said. "Now, how about some food?" He gave a somewhat sly smirk to his friend.

-DSG, Logical Restaurant-

Ian nodded in agreement, "Of course."

He nodded to the Vulcan waiter and began to order dinner. As he listened to James order his food, a problem Ian was having came to his mind. His new first officer, Kyle Katran. He was not only his first officer but the leader of a unit of special ops onboard the station. Ian felt unsettled by him and hated the fact that he had the man forced on him. He felt it was a final insult by Starfleet Command. They sent a man who had ties to the Nautolians. Once the waiter was gone, Ian took a sip of his Vulcan Spice Tea and then looked back at James.

"Jim," He whispered, "Have you ever...had trouble with a first officer under your command before? I think I'm having one now. I'm not sure what to do."

Ian hoped that James wouldn't assume he was talking about Fito, but by the Nautolian's replacement.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Hiro nodded as Sakura walked off and then looked back at his old friend from the Kepler. He pointed to the stack of PADDs sitting in the captain's chair.

"For the most part," He replied, "Engineering and security have yet to do so."

+ 4 good job with the continuity with Ian's anger over Katrans assignment

-Eagle Star, Bridge-

Tracy nodded, it always seemed that the Engineering and Security department was a bit...slow in the reports. Tracy found that amazing, while it was a rather large department, her department dealt with the entire crew.

"Hiro, I'm concerned about Kyle Smith. He's in security?"

Tracy waited for confirmation if he remembered the name or not, he had dealings before. Deep in Tracy's mind though, her concern was her friend, and commanding officer, Hiro.

Tracy also wondered about the Captain, he had a deep devotion to an old Earth religion, something he seemed to fall back on in times of trouble.

Reiman took a sip of his Vulcan spice tea, enjoying it greatly. Vulcan food was always an interesting experience for him, so he took pleasure in eating it, though he found it somewhat plain at times.

"Jim," Ian whispered. "Have you ever...had trouble with a First Officer under your command before? I think I'm having one now. I'm not sure what to do."

"Hiro's the only First Officer I've had so far, and I've yet to have any real problems with him that I can recall. Just the usual First Officer problems, if you know what I mean." He paused, eying his friend closely. "Having a problem problem with your replacement?" James questioned. "I heard something about a Special Ops officer taking the position? Kyle Katran?"

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Cargo Bay-

Thomas had gotten reports from his security teams and after dismissing them began his own report. Hed been pleased to report that once again his teams and the ships security were just as good as they had always been. After putting his report into the PADD he left for the bridge.
Deck One. He said as he stepped into a lift.

-U.s.s. Eagle Star, Bridge-

Thomas stepped off the lift and walked over to Commander Hasegawa. He extended the PADD in his hand.
Commander, heres the weekly security report. As always everyone and everything is running smoothly.
