No they shouldnt have gotten together, would have been great to see, but still...NO.
Its like Mulder and Scully, the longest flirtation in history and it is clear they are madly in love with each other but they just should get together. It would just ruin everything. Picard and Beverly are the same. They just shouldn't get together.

If Picard should get together with any woman it should be Beverly.

What's the point? Nice for the two of them, but that's them. A love affair isn't much as a spectator sport. I don't need to watch others having one. Not much science-fiction content to that.

So, then do tell me, what is the point in ANY type of series or show genre if there isn't any type of relationship between the characters? So people wanted to see a little romance between them...there was obviously tension between the two on the matter, but just because there's no Science Fiction to it, doesn't mean that it can't be wondered about. Because any show isn't a good show without relationships...

They already have a relationship. It can change, that's fine. It's just not too necessary.

I think they should have kissed each other and thats it!!! Its obvious that he fells more than friendship for our dear doctor, and she for him. I dont see nothing wrong on start to be the gilrfriend of your best friend!
They really shoul have stayed togheter, It would have been a good topic to be explored during the seasons of the show.
Sorry for the english errors.

Beverly was a great character and a beautiful looking woman.Picard is not a particularly good looking guy but had a sexy voice and accent. He has a way of moving and acting that was attractive and had that 'something' about him that women(ME)liked!!!!
You can tell I liked Picard(Patrick Steward),and the thought of the two of them getting together would be great!!!!!!!!

well yes the would have been good together but some things did make that rather difficult.
1st not only is picard rather reserved, but he was some how responsible, or feels responsible for jack's (mr. crusher) death.
also as many ppl have said their friendship could be ruined by it although in all good things this was proved otherwise, so really things could go either way but if weasly had never exsisted they would have with out a doubt hooked up!

Dr Crusher and Captain Picards relationship was always an interesting one. more interesting to most TNG viewers then Riker and Troi's relationship. That was overly done for a world wind relationship i think.
At least with Beverly and Jean-luc they had known each other for a long time. I understand the points about not ruining friendship though. However they also say starting out as friends can lead to the best relationships out there.
Beverly and Jean-luc was shown as being married in some series. but as you recall all those were alternate time line. Meaning it didn't necessarily happen that way.
It would of been interesting to see how the crew would of reacted to them being married. and How well Wesley handle his mother being married to his Captain and the person responsible to his father. who knows maybe Wesley wouldn't of turned out to be such a goodie goodie instead maybe he would of rebelled more.

As far as my own opinion goes, they would have made a very beautiful couple. Capt. Picard wasn't surely a lady-killer - unlike his predecessor, namely Capt. Kirk - and he looked like he was the kind of guy more interested in having a real romantic relationship with a woman, even though, quite often, he seemed pretty unsure and uneasy about how to deal with ladies. Doctor Crusher was undoubtedly attracted to him, and she was a very nice and well-educated lady. Besides, they shared the same working places and adventures (if I remember correctly, it was Capt. Picard to tell her about her husband's death), and the bond between them two was strong. Too bad that the screenwriters did not develop it further.

I personally think that Picard should get married to Anij, and Beverly should go marry someone else. After all, I believe in All good things((memory's a little fuzzy on this though)), that Q said something along the lines of this is what may happen.

Im sure they could have worked out some sort of "Friends with Benefits" arrangement, just to keep the lid from blowing off from time to time
