Yes i started out on Trumpet for 2 years, then the baritone section needed help so i moved their for a year, then to the tuba and my last 3 months of band i was on bass drum cause i volunteered to do it.

cool. I'm not the solo kind of gal, i like to leave that to the guys. even last year being lead player in jazz band i never did a solo unless it was written in my part or if my director forced me to do it.

Trust me i hate solos, because then everone'e looking at you and if you screw up at like a contest you could blow it for ever one, too much stress, the best solo i ever was the 2006 lead solo for the phantom of the opera the local syphmony did and i was asked to solo on tuba.

I'm one!!! I prefer "band nerd" though.... I played cello for three years, oboe for 6, and percussion for 5. This is my first year since... 3rd grade? So first time in 11 years that I haven't been a part of a musical group. Unfortunatly I did it because it was fun.... but at college everyone's serious about everything so it's not fun any more. especially here. Oh well. Hooray for band!

I was the pit section leader for 2 years... I can't go back anymore because they've ravished my pit. It used to be amazing and fun and big but the old ass of a drum instructor scared everyone off.

Don't know what we placed exactly, but we got Superior With Distinction. here's the strange part though, we had a tuba fall down, a clarinet last to spot running across the field to catch her section, and the trumpets (will they ever learn?) had the same problem as the clarinets with spotting. yet after all of this we get superior with distinction at state!? then we placed 11th at the BOA Regionals.

My marching band won the state championship in Colorado 4a last year... it was really exciting to hear that that finally happened. My Senior year we won second and were kind of angry because the band that got first was doing a show that they had done 3 years earlier... ain't that cheating?

lol!
My high school has gotten straight superior ratings at MSBOA festival marching AND concert for 15 consecutive years. We place in the top 10 at MCBA for our flight every year. But we got KILLED at BOA Nationals!

Yes yes yes .... I am a band nerd. I play bassoon and I can play vibe, but I'm not too good at it yet. I have a few other instruments too. I REALLY want to learn trombone, but everyone tells me its really hard, not like its going to stop me.

This is my marching band (not mine, this is like... 3 years later) on VicFirth. It's going to be taken down soon... apparently... because our drum instructor signed on with a different stick line or something. Anyway... I guess they're actually good now... some BOA nationals?
