It sounds right. The President shouldn't be able to declare whoever he wants as an enemy of the state. Its too authoritarian.

We need an International Committee for Defining Stuff (and their first task would be to come up with a better name). That way, instead of making war and killing each other over semantics, we can all agree about the definition of every single word in every single circumstance and start fighting about things that matter.

I like a lot of people from it, such as STV members  
Plus there are other things I like about it; I was simply stating my lack of surprise (and annoyance) at this coming from the all-too-liberal city of Las Angeles. Your state, like my home state of New York, happens to be very liberal, and some of the things that come from it really get on my nerves - and the same goes for New York, and I love that state. But there is little more than that, so please don't make such a rash assumption.

Yes, RM. Hollywood is liberal (smart fellows). However, the rest of LA might not be. I don't know. I don't live there.

Let's see, LA...
- Hollywood
- 3rd largest Jewish-American population (traditionally liberal group)
- The LA Times, one of the most notable far-left media publications in the country
- Center for media and the arts (liberal institutions)
- It's known for being liberal
- It's one of California's major population centers (liberal)
- It's a large, well-populated city, and California or not, they're liberal locations, big cities are
- The mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, is a liberal Democrat
- The House Representative which hails from Los Angeles is Xavier Becerra, a liberal Democrat who votes with the Democrats 98% of the time (my estimate)
Those are just a few things that come off the top of my head. It's a pretty liberal city, like the majority of the state (as far as population, for the rural areas are more conservative).

The Governator. Who, just as an aside, stopped in at the coffee shop in the building where I work to buy a cup of coffee and meet & greet the other day. I was impressed. He was friendly, personable, and didn't have a huge security team with him. I got to chat briefly with him. It was cool. Mostly because--OMG!--this bleeding-heart liberal voted for him.

Stereotype. Jews tend to be liberal on social issues--particularly on civil rights. It's the Jewish involvement in the civil rights arena that led to this stereotype.
There are plenty of Jewish Republicans--my family is chock full of them. They're liberal on social issues, conservative on economic issues.
Surely you aren't claiming that civil rights is a "liberal" issue?

"Far left" was an exaggeration even a few years ago. Reorganization and a new editorial team has made the paper very middle-of-the-road.

The mayor is a non-partisan position--no one runs as a party member. And during the last decade, we had a mayor who was a registered Republican (Riordan).
