Quote: | Judge Orders Treasury Department to Make Paper Money Recognizable to Blind People
WASHINGTON American paper money represents an unfair impediment to the blind, and the Treasury Department must come up with new U.S. currency to help the visually impaired use cash, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

Interesting...I think the command is a bit too excessive (as I don't think the courts should state a day by which something must happen), but this should be interesting...

I almost see your point RM, but this could also help cut down on possible fraud againts the blind. Currently, they have to fold it a certain way or something, one could take advantage of that. I think it's agood idea though, to make something that the blind can recognize.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have

Oh, I think it's a good idea, don't get me wrong here, but it's the time constraints that I don't like.

Canada uses a braille-like feature of raised dots. I like it better than different-sized currency because it maintains that nifty feeling of holding a uniform wad of cash, but is still accessible to the blind/visually impaired/optically challenged/cool name of the week.
