I'm rooting for Gov. Tom Vilsack or Sen. Evan Bayh.
They are 2 pretty good candidates and very centrist.

It's too early. To throw in your bid two years in advance will only hurt the candidates. I'd expect to see the serious competitors come out next summer.

The first debate is set for May 2007 for the republicans. That is not that long

Yeah, but a lot can happen in two years. Remember Howard Dean?
I think people are going to be making a lot of noise about running, but I highly doubt that those who stand a good chance of running will announce it until next year. Because, when you announce your bid you are painting a huge target on yourself and every action you take will be publicly scrutinized, more time is more time to screw up.
