Quote:
Saying he was unable to stop the bloodshed, a Navy corpsman testified that Marines in his patrol seized an Iraqi civilian from his home, threw him into a hole and shot him at least 10 times after growing frustrated in their search for an insurgent.

Slight and soft-spoken, Petty Officer 3rd Class Melson J. Bacos said Friday he saw a Marine put fingerprints from the victim onto a rifle and a shovel to implicate him as an insurgent.

"I was shocked and I felt sick to my stomach," Bacos said.

Please...no. I'm really starting to get sick with all of this...

Not again... why are they always doing this stuff! They only make it worse for them and for the Navy, at the end, the one suffering is the Army. And that is what bothers me, people get killed and others get blamed. Cause you will most likely hear that Navy did this out in the open.

I wouldn't say that they're "always doing this stuff," Admiral, because that's just not so. If you're in war you're always going to have soldiers commit some atrocities. Not that there's any excuses for it, I'm just saying that the influx of these incidents makes it seem like it's worse than it is and that war in the past has almost never seen American atrocities.

Not the soldiers who committed this act, but the average soldier. The soldiers who committed this act should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but we shouldn't look negatively on all or even most of them beause of these few/several incidents.

No we should never, they are there to ensure the safety of the world, that there are idiots like the ones mentioned above is to be expected in those big numbers. It's sad that there is nothing to do about it.

Exactly, and that was my point. We can't brand the entire military for the actions of a proportional few.

What those Marines did was entirely wrong, but consider their motivation. The known terrorist they were looking for had been captured and released by authorities multiple times. Some of the blame for this must rest on the individuals who are letting known terrorists go free.
