Awesome

I'm not sure if the last one or the 5th to last one is my favorite.

I really like the visual lines in both of them and the contrast between the single bird and the flock.

Although, I am curious, how did you get that effect with the circle of sharpness and then everything else being blurred? I don't know too much about photography...

[edit] Can I use some of them to make icons?

First: Yes, you may use whatever you want for Icons...
Second: The Circle of Sharpness is just a lens filter that I JUST bought today. On the pic of myself, it didn't know exactly what I wanted, but it looks alright. Otherwise I thought it looked neat. Now, as for the rest of the picture being blurry, that was just the rest of the picture being focused, with a little help from the filter as well... It's not even really supposed to be a sharpness, persay...but it's supposed to just fuzz everything else out...but the reason it's sharp in certain pics, is, I think, because of the way the light hit the filter...

Thank you very much...

Mkay, I tried my hand at making an icon out of one of your pics:

The border was made by Absolute Trouble ^-^

Can you post the icon a little bigger so I can see it? It looks really nice...

And how did you get color in it if I took it as a black and white photo? Just curious...But it looks VERY nice from what I can see...

If I zoom in it'll muck up the pixles, besides, most icons/avatars have a limit of around 100x100 px. And the small text isn't supposed to be legible

As for the color, I put a layer with a gradient fill in (that tinted the grass) and then I took a texture from colorfilter.net and set it to multiply. I also added in the border and text.

Very nice. I thought you took the picture as it was, and then just saved it smaller to make the icon...that's what I normally to...lol. Then again, I don't make "correct" icons, either...lol...

Regardless, it look like you did a great job...

Well, there's no such thing as a 'correct' icon. Some people just get addicted to it and like to get really, really into it. Kind of like me....*tries to look innocent*

LOL...ah...I didn't know if there was some kind of special program or whatnot for making icons...lol...One of my icons is in use by somebody around here...or at least it was for a while by somebody...it's the picture of Voyager crashing on that Ice Planet from "Timeless." I resized it and used it here when I first made it...then I stopped and several months ago noticed somebody else was using it...lol.

Well, you don't have to use any specific programs. Cropping and resizing an image works just fine. I just use a program called GIMP (it's free ^-^) which has many more capabilities than Paint or something - like the ability manipulate layers and such.

Ooh...cool. I may have to give that a try sometime...when I get more time...lol. I hate my work schedule...but I figured there had to be something for it.
