Having done the Borg on DS9, it might be god to looka at other side of the coin. With VGR hearing about the War through Pathfinder, I think it would have been gr8 if theyd run into a lost Vorta..

Eh...the idea's interesting...but that's just it...interesting. Nothing else really. Because DS9 was all about the Dominion. Not to mention the fact that Voyager was way too far from any type of Dominion to just happen to run into a "lost Vorta."

That was the only time they were on, but they were mentioned several times.

I agree that it was absolutely stupid that VOY never even mentioned a WAR going on back home. That's like me and 6 other Americans lost in Taiwan in the year 2000. Then we make contact with America in 2006 and hear about the Iraq War. It is dumb it was nothing but a footnote for them. Especially since the Dominion wiped out the Maquis. How often does the Federation get plunged into a major war that nearly destroys them?

Well, by the time "Pathfinder" aired, the War was well over. Now, yes, Voyager "found" out about it in "Message in a Bottle" when the Doctor went to the Prometheus, but I don't think that the War was completely on by the time that episode aired...I may be wrong...I don't know...

But by the time Pathfinder aired the War was well over. So there was no need to really have anything done or said about it. Now the Maquis getting slaughtered was mentioned at least twice. Once when they first found out, and then again when B'Elanna was trying to see if she was "alive." It had drastic effects on her...

It would have been. During Message in a Bottle, it was at the Rocks and Shoals/Favor the Bold stage. And as for Dom. being too far away- I see point but Trek could have come up with some explanation- it'd have made a great episode and grounded VGR in the Trekverse

I don't think Voyager is best suited in the Dominion. It suited DS9 more.

The dominion in Voy? Voy would've never survived that! They would be shattered to many peices.

Wasnt the only mention of the Dominion on voyager this?

Quote:
EMH Mark 2: "No. The Romulans haven't gotten involved in our fight with the Dominion."
Doctor: "The who?"
EMH Mark 2 takes a breath to start explaining then decides on the brief: "Long story."

That's all that I recall...

There was, however, supposedly a hologram Jem Hadar in Season 7's two parter "Flesh and Blood," but I have only seen that episode a couple of times and don't remember...but I remember hearing about it though...

It is regrettable that the Dominion were never really mentioned (a few references, here and there, but, nothing much) in VOY. However, I suppose that I'm a bit glad that they weren't.

See...I don't like VOY's writers. The VOY writers would have done something ridiculous. Someone mentioned wanting VOY running into a stray Vorta? God, no. The VOY writers would've done something ridiculous and made Janeway seem all awesome and powerful and kick the Vorta's ass and then ask what his name was, because, Janeway's stupid like that.

Anyways, the Dominion is unique to DS9 and I'm glad that it was kept that way. However, I would've preferred a different reaction to learning about the Dominion War by the VOY crew. Instead of going all like "A war? Okay." it should've been like "A war!?!? Oh my God!!! Waah!" More dramatic, y'know? I don't know how to explain it.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm hating on VOY, again.
