PostTue Oct 03, 2006 2:07 am    Hayden Christensen in Return of the Jedi!

I couldn't believe it when I saw this. I was watching Return of the Jedi this morning on Foxtel (Showtime 2) and i've noticed that they've made a change to it SINCE the Special Editions. It's only in one scene, but in the final few frames of the film that is set in teh Ewok villiage, Hayden makes an appearance. If you recall, in the original film, Luke looks away from the party for a second to see the spirits of Yoda, OB1 and Anakin Skywalker (in his senior years). But they've now replaced the spirit of the senior Skywalker with an image of Hayden Christensen! That's pretty sad, if I were the actor who played Anakin senior i'd be heavily disgusted (even though the role was brief).

I noticed that a while ago when a friend pointed it out. I thought it was actually quite a brilliant little edit - it makes the continuity all that more impressive.

It was initially done with the DVDs. I hated it when I watched RotJ on my DVD the weekend after getting them (got them they day they came out), and I hate it now. absolutely hate it. I can understand reasoning for it, but I think it was too much, way too much. I don't like it one bit. It serves no good atall.

At first it bothered me, but I thought about it and realized it made sense. I think not enough of the SW fans think it out and jump to conclusions.

Yeah, I studied why they did it. When Anikin Skywalker fell to the Darkside, he "Died", so they used the image of the young one for the "Jedi Spirit"

I HATE it. I liked the old guy, because he was like what I thought Anakin would look like at Vader's age. And Anakin didn't die, because he came back at the end of ROTJ, in the last few moments before Vader actually died.
