Quote:
Staff and pupils have been evacuated from a US high school in Bailey, Colorado, where an adult gunman has taken up to four hostages.

We were watching a video in Chemistry class and then when it ended and the movie was stopped it was on a local station and had a press conference on it. I'd never heard of the high school before this incident, however, but that's frightening indeed.

((Welcome back, CJ!))

That must have been terrifying. I sincerely hope the other hostage will be okay - the trauma must be horrific.

How sad... The second gunman in a school in 2 weeks. What on earth is possessing people to do such horrible acts?

My sentiments go out to the family of the deceased girl,

The girl, Emily Keyes (16), sent a last text message to her father while being held hostage in the classroom saying, "I love u guys." Her and her family most certainly need our prayers. What an incredibly tragic story.

Wow. What a sad story indeed. At least she managed to get that message out.

So my dad was listening to a sports show on the radio the other day and a caller called in, and what do you think he said? "If these girls were black the story wouldn't have been on the news."

The hosts were just stunned, and who wouldn't be? This guy's Jesse Jackson to the extreme. My word. What an idiot.
