PostTue Sep 19, 2006 2:10 pm    Fave S'fleet uniforms

They seem to be as changeable as the weather don't they. youve got ENt gear, 3 types of OS gear (not counting the films) TNG uniforms with several variations, the VGR/DS9 stuff and the Dominion War unifs. So what was your favourite to wear? Come to that, where do you buy decent Starfleet uniforms- Ive ben trying to find this out for AGES...

Not sure about buying them, but my favorites were the ones is Star Trek VI. They seemed a but more official than the Next Generation uniforms, while still allowing for the informality of not being strictly military. Next best would be the uniforms toward the second half of DS9, with the gray over the color.

As far as style and practicality, I probably like the most modern DS9/TNG movie uniforms with the grey at the top.

If I had to make one, it would probably be easiest to make a TOS uniform that would look passable.

My fave ones are the FC/Late DS9 ones. Looks like it could be a little warm, what with the top being like, 3 or 4 layers, but it's still cool.

The latest uniforms as seen in the latest Star Trek movies. They are so much nicer than some others. I can't watch Voyager so I know nothing about them.

I always thought the ones in Endgame were kinda cheesy.

I like the later season DS9 uniforms. Grey shoulders, department color undershirts, and black on the rest of it.

Eh, I don't really believe that they wear all of that at one time...Yes, as they happen to shed clothing, it mysteriously appears there, but I don't believe that...lol.

My favorites are Voyager's and the Nemesis uniforms. (Nemesis being the same as DS9, etc.)

Voyager's look comfortable, and, while still showing professionalism still have a slight laid back feeling about them. Something I think that should be worn on a Starship and away missions.

The Nemesis uniforms too look comfortable. Not so much to wear on a Starship, but still functional as such...they look a tad too nice to wear on away missions, but still serve the purpose, and while not going to a full out formal occasion, would be a better choice for a conference of sorts than Voyager's uniforms...while Voyager's uniforms still present professionalism, and warrant the right to be worn to it...

I guess my point being, I like them both ALOT, but that the Grey top, black body, colored undershirt uniforms just seem more formal to me...which is alright...

Never mind, I'm rambling...lol

I liked the Voyager ones a lot- I don't think they were used enough on DS9 and got changed quickly- however I can see the VGR gear wouldn't have suited the Dominion War

I'd have to say the did, pretty much when a captain took the jacket off, that vest was there, I am sure not the actor did, yes, but the char did

They actually weren't though. They were in actuallity, once piece uniforms, that the actors were fitted for when standing, so to sit was rather uncomfortible. In moments with a non full shot of the body, the foot straps were un done.

And best yet about the nemesis? Two piece

I guess my point being, I like them both ALOT, but that the Grey top, black body, colored undershirt uniforms just seem more formal to me...which is alright...

That's probaby why they are still in service four movies later

Now, yes, I know that Voyager's uniforms were one piece, but then explain to me why we have seen SEVERAL times Janeway with her top piece off? Dark Frontier, for example. She and Chakotay are in her quarters and she has her top piece off and upon walking out into the corridor she puts it on. Or in Counterpoint when she's in the Mess Hall with that Devore guy, she has her top piece hanging on a chair.

There's been also, though very rare, occasions that I've seen a couple other people do the same...

I have no idea, that happens in trek constantly. Another notorius exaple, is T'Pol. Her once piece, many times suddenly turnd into a two piece....

LOL...Ya...well, I'm sure for the ACTORS, the Voyager uniform was uncomfortable. But if they were "real" in the future, I'm sure they would be a little better designed so they were indeed comfortable...

Purple? If you mean the one Sisko is wearing in my avatar, it's grey.

- Looks purple to me. Always thought they switched the color from their turttle necks with their colored strips.
