When I found out that there was going to be a prequel to The Original Series I expected something like the Messiah from Deep Impact with engines like the Phoenix from First Contact. What were some of your starship expectations for ENT?

Truthfully...I had none. Voyager was the one I was interested in, so it really didn't matter much to me. But I was glad that Kevin Sorbo wasn't heading the cast.

I expected a Daedalus-class with Phoenix engines and a smaller sphere section- type of ship.

That makes sense.

I didn't really have any, save for something that was small, and cramped.

I don't know what I expected, I didn't start watching it until I owned all the Voyager DVDs, I had seen all of TNG and DS9 episode reruns, and I got to the top of the waiting list for the DVD set at my library, then I was kind of disappointed, my least favorite part was the Xindi part, hey, I love saving Earth as much as the next guy, but I want to see more technologies, aliens, and bad guys!

im of the opposite camp - I loved the Xindi extended run - it let the crew show its more darker bleak aspects of a starfleet without all of its morals and directives in place, and I liked that it spanned the entire season with the few fillers in between - I really dont care much for filler episodes and much of season 2 was very disjointed and directionless - aside from the ongoing temporal cold war, I enjoyed the Season 3

During one of the ENT episodes, I was wondering why the Enterprise didn't consider using their tractor beam ,and it suddenly struck me, tractor beams did not even exist at that time, they would have to make do with the grapplers or something. Also they had no photon torpedoes just normal torpedoes. Not only that, they had no shields but some "special" resillient armour that is able to resist some damage. Lol, lets just say I wasn't expecting a lot of things...this came as a shock to me...

Mk.I Photon Torpedoes made it off the drawing board while they were out in space and Enterprise got fitted with launchers and a supply of torps when they came back for the Xindi mission i believe - either then or after it - one of those times they were back on Earth

Actually its "Photonic" torpedos. The hull armor was polorized hull plating, similar to putting an electronic current though ceramic, and it's harder.

I felt it kinda weak to see a Photonic Torpedo in Enterprise, like it was supposed to feel familair when you see a torpedo being launched that gives light.

I quick way of making a weapon that is more primitive then the Photon torpedo, but gives the same effect on TV.

same ting with the polarized hull, making it look like a shield, adn making it look cool on TV.

Other than that, liked the new ship, i excepted a bit less Technology though.

Them not looking like what we are used to is the point, I am wiling to bet if the hull plating looked like shields, people would complain about the use of shieldls, same with the torpedos.

I really had no expectations beyond a retro Enterprise. All these series you just have to take them as they come and allow Trek to mould itself. It always works out anyway.

To be honest, I was expecting trash.

I know, I know. Just shoot me. I'd heard rumours that Enterprise was awful. I had just finished watching Voyager, and was trying to recover from VYGR withdrawels.

I thought that maybe it would be somewhat of a revised-cheesiness. Let's face it- TOS was cheesy as far as effects and sounds go. Anyone remember the DS9 episode in which they go back to the times of Kirk and Spock? The episode was called Trials and Tribble-ations, I believe. Anyways, that's what I was thinking; some kind of new cheesiness.

Imagine my shock when I saw the ship, the crew, the uniforms, and the technology!
