Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:59 pm Miltary Activity? |
|
This is more speculation than hard news, but my sister and I have both noticed a flurry of air activity today. She's near DC, and I'm near another air base.
Anyone else think it's possible that there may be some news soon about increased or changes in militrary activity? I haven't seen anything on CNN or BBC about it.
I think it's very possible, but I may also be imagining things.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,215601,00.html has a story on the army extending combat tours for 4,000 soldiers in Iraq, but that's all I know.

Hm. I'm not sure extending a combat tour would warrent what looked (vaugely, by recollection only, and it's the only one I actually saw ) an F-15.

I see them occasionally too, but I find it odd that there is such an increase in activity that is noticable to both me and my sister, more than two hours away from me.

I was wondering that, or some sort of random increase in protection, or patrol? /shrugs

The military is now having more Red Flag type excercises at other air bases. Its nothing to worry about.

I live close to Fort Stewart and I hear tanks shoot off every so often. There are troops are going back to Iraq soon I hear from FT. Stewart.

According to Johny there was a French military convoy going down the A1 yesterday, and they were carrying weapons.
We've heard a lot of low planes and helicopters here recently.

Puck and borgslayer may very well be right. But it still makes me a little jumpy

Huh. Well, I think it's just a coincidence or something, but with stuff going on with Americans and French, it does make you wonder.

No war between us...
But I just saw a pair of Apache's over my house. They were loaded with missiles. White Ones.
