I think it would have been more sensib;e to give 'em TOS foreheads in ENT. The genetic disorder idea wold be believable if it spanned a few hundered years.

I still think the idea they used in Star Trek: My brother's Keepere, an Original Series trilogy of books, would have been better. I suggest anyone who hasn't, to read the books.

I liked the ENT episodes, actually, it falls into why they don't discuss it with outsiders. Embarrasment

A reversal of the engineering. The entire Klingon race was flat forheads, and genetic test made a 'new' race, to the Bulky, ridged headed, race we all know and love today.

It was that the Klingons had always been like they were in TOS. They had a group of Klingons who began genetic engineering to make their race better, but those Klingon's were captured and placed on a desolate planet in Federation space (if I'm remembering correctly). Eventually the Klingons escaped and introduced the "super" Klingons to the rest of the race.

The StrangeNew Worlds II short story 'I am Klingon' has a great explanation too- I'll put it up when I clear my bookcase

That is interesting, wasnt the klingon doctor (phlox's friend) part of the team of genetic engineers that had a hand in the reconstruction of the klingons appearance in the future? And was he part of the team that introduced these super klingons to the rest of the race? Does anyone know?

I don't really like that idea as much as the way it worked on the show.

- So that's what happened to Klingon's between TOS & TNG - they had a genetic disorder...I always wondered how they would explain that. LOL.

It made sense to me. The problem occurred suddenly and the genetic realignment was a short term solution.
