Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, but Episode VI: Return of the Jedi is an immeasurably close second.

I don't know if I could really choose a 'favorite' however, Return of the Jedi holds a special place in my heart for being the first one I can remember watching.

Revenge is best for FX, but Jedi has best story line.

EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE
I love the podracing sequence, but have to admit that Jar Jar was way to much in focus. Liam Neeson was a cool Jedi Master and Ewan did a great job as young Kenobi. Many people feel that TPM was a big disappointment, but I feel that it is the Prequel Episode that is most like the old movies. It's an adventure with a fantastic saber duel. And for the first time we got to see why tje Jedi were the Guardians of Peace and Justice of the Old Republic.
EPISODE II - ATTACK OF TE CLONES
Anakin is tempted by the Dark Side and we see the darkness getting a hold of the Galaxy. Ian McDiarmid delivers a great performance as the puppet master.
Lots of fighting, Boba as a kid, Temuera Morrison as Jango and the original Stormtrooper, lots of Jedi in action and Stormtroopers saving Jedi.
EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH
Naturally Revenge of the Sith has the best Special Effects and it also has the most action.
EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE
A New Hope is the one I've watched the most however. And is has the best space battle of all and it introduced us to the best movie villain ever IMO.
EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
Empire Strikes Back has the best Direction, the most character development and the most most schocking revelation in movie history. It is my favourite.
EPISODE VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI
Return of the Jedi however has the best single scene of ANY star wars movie. That same scene is the Key evet of the entire Saga and shows us what Star Wars is all about. The scene I am talking about is the one were Luke is being fried by the Emperor and we see how Anakin struggles to resurface and after all those years Vader dies and Anakin finally does what he was meant to do... he destroys the Sith by killing Vader and the Emperor thereby fulfilling his destiny and brings ballance to The Force.
Every episode has a lot of things I like, but my overall favourite has to be EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

I'm going to have to be the loser and go with Episode I: The Phantom Menace. That's the one that really hooked me, even though I like the original trilogy. I'll always consider myself as a a young Obi-Wan, still learning, and always consider Qui-Gon as my master. Yes... I get emotional and angry in the last saber battle... which, BTW rocks the hell out of all the rest of them.

I would have to say the same exact thing, only for me it will be Star Wars Episode IV : A New Hope...that's the first one I EVER saw, and the one that hooked me so I HAD to see the rest, even with its lack of saber battles.

Lucas should have stopped after three. Seems the more famous he gets the more his movies become like blockbusters and less artistic. The first three (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes back and, Return of the Jedi ) were fantastic!
But none of these compare to one of Lucas's first film's if not the first "THX1138" <--Now that was a good movie!
The phantom menace was...okay at best. Anakin annoyed the hell out of me, and kind of freaked me out to think him and Amadala togther.
::pedophile:: cough cough. The only thing that made this movie was Liam Neeson and Ewan Mcgreggor.
Attack of the clones was an abomination...hugely to do with the actor who played Anakin. The guy can't act - I would hope that Lucas would choose talent over looks but I can see that obviously hadn't happened. Oh yeah and the romance...it was horrible. Yeah okay I do happen to like romance - don't get me wrong, I'm an avid shipper. But this was horribly done...more experienced actors could have been used. Natalie Portman should stick to qurky-indie type flicks. Anakin actor should stick to modeling.
Revenge of the sith - I would say was the best of all three of the 'newer' films. I can see they did pull out more stops for this flick, and it seems ol' An'y boy had 'some' acting lessions. I won't say his acting was good, but he does darking and brooding evil much better than romance.
as for what's my fav...I don't know. It's been a while since I've seen them.

It's a tie between V and VI for me. The ingenuity and character development are wonderful. The newer ones don't hold a candle to them.
The new ones are based far too much on the visual. I personally like a good romantic sub plot, but I nearly gagged during the scenes between Hayden Christenson and Natalie Portman. And I was on a date. That should say something. From what I hear, Lucas spent all his time hunched over the CGI and not paying any attention to actually directing the acting. And that's where the new trilogy, in my mind, failed.

Can you elaborate on that? that one word "eww", just don't say much
I enjoyed them, for the story, the OT just owned all. For the action, PT, especialy the first one, with Obi passing out the Ownage to all those droids. but the second, due to ALL the Jedi fighting, but the third was cool to

1. Don't compare Star Wars to Camelot, when one is obviously far superior. We all know which. (*cough*EnglishMajor)
2. The fact of Episode III was that despite George Lucas' AWFUL screenplay, the nerd needs to stick to storylines and leave dialogue to people who actually interact with other people, the story has so much more depth then we get to see in a first viewing. Each character's story is so human (the human ones, anyway), it's brilliant. The actors did a good job with the crap script they had to work with, and actually made it believable what each of them were going through.
3. Poor Hayden Christensen. Sure, the guy's a sap, but can you imagine what kind of hell he went through as an actor having to turn Jake Lloyd into Darth Vader?
4. Camelot's better.

- I have no sympathy for the guy. He shouldn't have been Anakin in the first place. Lucas should have picked an actual actor. While Lloyd was annoying, Christensen was pathedic.

Star Wars just seems like a medival story line imported into SciFi.

And Trek was a Western storyline in space, as was Firefly.
A cliche plot taken totally out of context and put in a new enviornmet is interesting. Not really sure why, but it seems to be true

Indeed that was very much Lucas's intention, and he has said it himself. He took upon old sci-fi serials of the 1920s and 1930s and medeval stories and whatnot, rolling them into one bombshell saga that, IMO, beats them all out.
