It is four years after the defeat of Shinzon and his Reman allies, at the hands of legendary Captain Jean Luc-Picard and several rogue Romulan factions. The skirmish was intense but opened up "new" relations with the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire. The Klingon Empire remained as vigilant and aggressive, especially towards the "new found" Romulan "friends".

A resurgent Cardassian Union, led by the famed Cardassian General, Trager, has over-taken the civillian Deteppa Council once more, establishing a new military dictatorship, although unlike before, the military how centered a new "personality" cult around the General, with all Cardassian citizens being "educated" that the General is some kind of "living God". General Trager's recent domestic policies, aside from putting alot of attention to Cardassia's now fallen military has called for the expulsion of homosexuals, the eradication of prostitution and the call for a "superior Cardassian race".

Despite these changes, the Obsidian Order, under new leadership, still lurks in the shadows, keeping things in tow......and a new "organization" known only as "The C.O.R.E" as stepped onto the scene......although little is known about this group......

As the Union reconstructs it's military, the Dominion prowls remains dominant in the Gamma Quadrant. A new Founder, known as "Riselin", has taken form. Although "Riselin" is not as strong as one might imagine.....with another "force" pulling the strings........

A new race, discovered in a recently discovered galaxy called "The Elerians", has emerged. The Elerians seem content, for now. A telepathic race with the ability to read any thoughts and a society dominated by women, with the men as "second class-citizens", the Elerians have opened up new opportunities for trade. However, The Elerian Kingdom is watched closely........

In the Delta Quadrant, unknown to the Federation and the races of the Alpha Quadrant, the Borg has remerged.......but more than stronger than ever. They have adapted using even more superior technology and have thus, called themselves, "The Novito-Borg Collective".

Species 8472 has opened up diplomatic ties with the Federation and the Alpha Quadrant. Trade takes place between the two although the six-gendered race and the Alpha Quadrant species remain......"suspicious" of eachother.

Romulus now has a Monarch, with the return of the Empress and Emperor. The Empress has recently given birth to a new, female heir. The loss of the Senate worried the remaining Romulan authorities and thus, it was decided for the Empress to return. The Empresse's daughter, Arathaveda, has own her ambitions, however, the rising Romulan Star Empire once more.

The Klingone Empire has been vigorously taken over by leading elements of the Klingone Military. Relations between the Federation and the Klingone Empire have deterioated, with only Ambassador Worf trying to preserve relations, but even he, too, cannot hold it together for long......

Many former Jem'Hadar soldiers have become pirates and mercenaries, raiding ships in the Gamma and even Beta Quadrant's for loot, some even planets. Many have sided up with the Grigari.

The Vorta remain as "loyal" to the Dominion as ever although some of the elements do wish to rule and bring about a new, Vorta ruled, Dominion. These elements are small......for now.......but are being constantly fueled by the Cardassian Union.......

Federation and Romulan ties are good but are weakening. The sly Princess and her family have distaste towards the Federation still.

The newly re-comissioned ship, the U.S.S. Warlord, has been returned to active duty. The now experianced and veteran Admiral Syd is now in command of the ship once again. A border skirmish on the Federation - Klingon border has sparked off panic and Admiral Syd has been sent to negotiate. Along with Captain Sims, his second in command, a new adventure awaits the crew. History.....once again.....is about to be made........

Ship Specifications Comming Soon!

Prologue

(See first post for more details)

The time period is shortly after the Shinzon occurance. After much consideration the federation has joined a unexpected alliance with the more "friendly" romulan empire, but ever so watching them closley.

The Kilngones have recently began to wage war on the federation-klingone border, and in effort to stop this before it gets out of hand and onto full scale war Federation command has recommisioned its only ship that is built for one purpose - battle. The U.S.S. Warlord, meant to overpower and flex federation muscle has been given to the command of Captain Sims, now a glorifyed flagship Captain. The first ever person to command the Warlord, now a declarated Fleet Admiral, Syd has been sent aboard the Warlord to help Captain Sims handle the stressful and more political then ever - situation.

Captain Sims awaits his crew.

USS Warlord, Orbiting Over Federation Capital Earth.

After giving this mission much consideration, Fleet Admiral Syd already found himself gathering up his things on his Admiral shuttle as it has just docked aboard the newly renovated Warlord. As the Admiral stepped out of his shuttle and two crewman carried his belongings behind him he stopped for a moment and glared at the ship. Fond memories he thought. It has almost been two decades since Admiral Syd was aboard the U.S.S. Warlord, his pride and joy. Syd continued to walk out of the shuttle bay, now following another crewman who had been sent to show him to his quarters. While walking he thought of his past crewmates and Sims most of all. Commander Sims, erh, "Captain Sims" was the best first hand he ever had in his career and he was excited to see how Sims would do in the same seat he was in two decades ago. Now older, Syd found it a little hard to keep up with the fast pace changing of technologies, but he never ever forgot the tricks of the trade, who he still had much to teach to the young ambitious starfleet officers.

Syd now entered his Quarters and began unpacking. This is not the ending of his journey yet, the starting of another one.

USS Warlord - Messhall

Laurent stared at the Kreshnal food replicator.
He was starting to wonder if starfleet really had a place for a 6 foot 5 green guy with orange hair. The replicator barely knew how to make real gagh, one of the few things Klingons were good for.
He spat at the eigth bowl, and threw it in the recycler.
Watching the shuttle move silently towards the shuttle-deck, he wondered if he had the slightest chance in hell of fitting in. They had to beam him to the ship, because he was too tall for the shuttlecraft. Even at that point, he still knocked his head on the fresnackeled "roof" thing.
these fresnackeled "roof" things were everywhere, but he understood the purpose of them. One could hardly be good at security and tactics without understanding the definition of good cover. He stared at the young ensigns, walking through the doors with ease. He wondered how nice thier childhood had been... but still... he envied thier ability to walk easily within the ship. He stared back at the replicator, but hadn't a clue what to get from it.
The young ensign walked past him, giving him ample room, and ordered a "steak", some "french fries", and a "hot chocolate".
The food that appeared looked tasty.
So he decided to get the same thing.
He had barely been in starfleet for a few years, and already, he knew that having an admiral AND a captain on board might not exactly one hundred percent work. And with no current security chief assigned... well... I'm sure the admiral would appreciate having a 6 foot 5 inch tall green guy with orange hair and a like for high ranking people on the bridge.
Still, he wondered what the heshnak the goddesses had in store for this ship. He hoped it was something he could handle. Then again... he was a 6 foot 5 inch tall green guy with orange hair whom ensigns seemed more then willing to give ample berth to...

USS Warlord-Shuttle Bay

Josi walked out of the shuttle and looked around. This was her first mission since the last uss Warlord two decades ago. She was only a Lieutenant then, but now she was a Commander and the First officer. She wondered if any of the original crew would be back, especially Sims and Syd. She missed those guys. She walked to her quarters, not seeing anyone she knew and unpacked.

USS Warlord - Laurent's Quarters.

Laurent walked towards his quarters, cursing every bulkhead he smacked on the way. THEN he whacked his head on the "door" to his quarters.
He glared at it, then ducked inside.
His briefcases were all there, neatly arranged, as he had left them on the cargo transport from the starbase.
Looking down at the kennel ontop, he smiled.
Something growled from within it, and made alot of racket, but it was infact, just his little befnal. A small bird, barely 3/4 of a foot tall.
He took it out, and set it on his dresser, which was it's favorite spot... usually. But this was a strange dresser. Instead, it flew to the replicator, hit it's head on it, and started growling at it.
The replicator computer voice kept dronning on and on about some form of "incorrect order" or something like that, so he picked up the befnal, and put it back on the dresser.
Carefully unpacking some of the things he had brought from home, he couldn't help but wonder how he could adjust to the klanjon ship. He stared out towards earth, and pondered.
Then he heard growling, and the computer complaigning, and went back to break up the fight between a small bird that thought it was a large cat, and a computerized food vender.

USS Warlord - Leslie Forbes Quarters

Leslie had been standing infront of the mirror brushing her long dark hair for a few minutes now. She found it a simple form of relaxing. She then placed her brush on the table and sat on her bed. Also on the bed with her was her bag. It was black, standard size with a single handle. Just like most crewmembers were given to pack their things. She placed her left hand inside the open bag and began to feel around she then began to randomly throw objects such as clothing out of the bag. She didnt care where they landed in the room as long as they were out of the bag. "There you are!" She shouted out loud. Then she pulled out a large hard back book. The cover was a plain dark blue. On the front was a small rectangle in the middle with a picture of space in the middle. The title read: Jose Chungs: From Outter Space. She ran her right index finger along the top of the pages until she came to her book mark. Then she opened it up to page 79 and began to read. As she started she moved up along to the pillows on her bed. An item of clothing was now wrapped around her leg, and she kicked and thrashed her leg about until the clothing flew across the room. The whole time her eyes were constantly fixed on the pages in the book.

She then called out "Computer elapsed time to my shift"
The computer then replyed "One hour and Twenty Seven minutes until Leslie Forbes shift begins on the bridge"
"Thank you computer" she replyed.

Leslie lay happily on her bed engrosed in her book. She was nervous about her first shift but was adamant it wouldnt get in the way...

USS Warlord - The Bridge

Captain Sims of the USS Warlord stands firmly with Admiral Syd. Turning to his once former Captain, he shakes his old friend's hand with a firm grasp, but one that handles respect. From the obvious body language, it is obviously clear that Sims is pleased to have the Admiral onboard. "....Sy--sorry, "Admiral" Syd, it is a pleasure sir for you to accompany me. Times have certainly changed and by goodness, the whole atmosphere concerns me."

After the brief, formal moment, Sims returns his gaze to the rest of the crew. They stand at attention. Sims nods and quietly says, "....To stations."

Returning his glance to Syd and then appearing upon the Captain's chair, Sims motions for Syd to take one of the three chairs, whilst he, himself, takes his own chair. Sat in position, he focuses at the viewscreen, then once more at the focused crew. Breathing calmly, he makes the announcement.

".....On orders from Admiral Piquet, the USS Warlord is to investigate recent reports of Klingon activity upon the border. The Klingons have, as you know, become more....."militaristic"......as of late, folks. I want to keep an eye on them."

Sims points to Admiral Syd, with respect.

"....Some of you may know or may not know but this.....this is Admiral Syd. He was the Captain of the original USS Warlord, the, erm, one that was, errrrr......unfortunetly destroyed......yeah......destroyed during Shinzon's attack......and alot of good friends perished, too. Only both myself, Syd and some of the others were survivors....."

There is a slight tear in the Captain's left eye, but, quickly shrugging it off, he continues, after racing away from getting lost in thought.

".....So, erm, anyway, yes! Admiral Syd will be advising us here on how to approach the situation. Syd has experiance in dealing with the Klingons in particular, so, let's give him the best of welcome, eh?"

The crew clap and applaud Syd. Sims smiles and also joins in. After the brief applause, Sims gives the orders for the coordinates and.....on his very order.....

"Engage!"

And with that, the Warlord takes off towards the Klingon border.

The Klingon - Federation Border

The usual array of Federation ships are visible on the viewscreen although from the Warlord's scanners and whatever view is possible, there are far more numerous Klingon ships than Federation ships. Standing up, Sims walks towards the viewscreen. Almost automatically, the hail is given by the USS Trimes.

Captain Daniel Webster: "....USS Warlord, this is the USS Trimes. Nice ta finally meet ya! ....I'll skip the pleasantries and give ya the details now. The Klingons have increased the amount of ships on the border and communication is becoming more aggresive. The Klingons have, erm.....42 ships on their side. We only have 21, well, 22 now that you fellas have shown up! In a firefight, it'd be a toughie now."

Captain Kain Sims: "....I got ya there, Trimes. Thanks for the info. We have Admiral Syd here, who is to take full command of the fleet."

Captain Daniel Webster: "....*THE* Admiral SYD!? ....Sir, it's a pleasure ta meet ya! A shame it could not be under better circumstances but then again.....having you leading us is a good first meeting in itself! Sir, the fleet awaits ya command!"

Sims nods to Webster.

Captain Kain Sims: "...Thanks, Dan. I'll see'ya and go over with Syd, then we'll beam you aboard and have a chat regarding this fiasco. Keep us posted."

Captain Daniel Webster: "Sure, no p--"

Suddenly, the Trimes if fired at. Klingon ships have opened fire at the border. Sims stands up.

Captain Daniel Webster: "OH, DAMN IT! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! SHI--WHAT!? QUICKLY, HELP US! DAMMIT, THEY'VE CROSSED THE BORDER! QUICK, HELP US OUT HERE! WEBSTER, OUT!"

Webster's face dissapears from the viewscreen. Sims quickly returns to Syd and, with respect, bows.

".....Syd.....take command......"

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've just been sick.

USS Warlord Bridge

Josi walked onto the bridge, noticing she was late and the last to arrive. It was a good thing she knew both the Captain and the Admiral. Otherwise she would be in a lot of trouble.

"Sorry I'm late. Won't happen again. What's all the commotion about?"

USS Warlord - The Bridge

Sims is hastily giving orders to the crew, with red alert now being activated on the vessel. Hearing the words of the Commander, Sims turns swiftly to her.

"Commander! The Klingons have crossed the border and have begu--"

On the viewscreen, a huge explosion erupts. The first omens have set. The destruction of the USS Trimes. Sims is astonished at the view and returns his glance to the Commander, with sadness.

"....We have lost the Trimes....."

It is all quiet. An air of respect is given for the now lost crew of the vessel. The sudden destruction and without any survivors has damaged the crew on the Federation side. The Klingon side, however, are cheering.....

Onboard the IKS Dragunok

Several Klingons laugh at the destruction of the vessel! It is a glorious honour for the Empire! Captain Garukmujt cheers with his fellow warriors! The first blow to the Federation has been struck! Now else to finish off those pesky Romulan lovers....once and for all! FOR THE EMPIRE!

"Sorry isn't GOOD enough when your under an attack! Commander, get to your position and make yourself useful! We've just lost the Trimes and the last thing that I need is you moping to yourself!"

Sims, with one final, peeved glance, returns his vision to the viewscreen and, with intense feeling, continues barking out orders to the crew.

Josi looks surprised.

"Sims,I didn't really do anything wrong. I was just late and promise it won't happen again. Is that so wrong? I'm sorry we were under attack, but it's not like I was doing the attacking."

Captain Sims returns his view sharpely towards Josi. From the expression on his face, it certainly did not look like he was in a mood for talking. Exploding with frustration, Sims blows with anger.

".....COMMANDER! This is NOT the TIME FOR EXCUSES! .....A SHIP, LIKE OUR OWN, HAS BEEN DESTROYED, INNOCENTS DEAD AND ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS QUESTION ME!? IS THAT GOING TO BRING THOSE PEOPLE BACK!? WELL IS IT!? COMMANDER, GET TO YOUR STATION AND DO YOUR DUTY!"

Josi mumbles under her breath.

"He thinks he's better than everyone just because he got promoted to Captain. I should have gotten that promotion, niot him."

None of what Josi said was meant to be heard, but unfortunately,it was heard by Sims.

Sims slowly turns back around to Josi, now. An angry look now, glaring in his eyes. A face that would even put the hardest of men and women in concern. Sims slowly takes a few steps towards Josi, the anger still paramount in his face. He stops....just a few feet away from her, the anger raging throughout his Human/Romulan veins.

"....You think you can DO a better JOB THAN ME!? Well.....YOU KNOW SOMETHING!? I WORKED HARD FOR THIS PLACE! WITH BOTH FAIRNESS AND HONESTY AND HARD WORK! AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO INSULT ME!? COMMADER! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK AND YOUR INSULTING ME!? I THINK I HAVE EVERY DAMN RIGHT TO BE FURIOUS WHEN A MAN THAT I JUST SPOKE TO PERISHES BEFORE MY VERY EYES!"

Sims continues his angry glare at her.

Josi returns the stare..

"You've changed Sims. Your letting more of your Romulan side out now. You never did that before. You think that because you got promoted, your better than everyone and never do anything wrong. I don't see you attacking the other ship, rather than arguing with me."

Sims cannot BELIEVE the things that Josi is coming out with! She is wanting to continue an argument with him when the entire Federation fleet is being attacked? He just....he can't even believe it. He does not see the arrogance of his own ways, only hers.

".....THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER I WAS ROMULAN, KLINGON, CARDASSIAN, EVEN A BORG! WHAT MATTERS IS THAT WE'RE UNDER ATTACK AND YOU, COMMANDER, ARE DISTRACTING ME FROM FULFILLING OUT MY DUTY! THE VERY DUTY THAT I HAVE SWORN TO TAKE AS A FEDERATION OFFICER!"

Sims just....stops. He just stops in frustration. Josie is certainly the persistant type and she has certainly got up under the rock tree with him. Growling in frustration, he looks firmly at her.

".....We'll continue this discussion LATER, Commander. Now, get to your post and help the rest of us get OUT of this damned mess!"

Josi smiles knowing she won this round.

"With pleasure...Sims."

Josi returns to her post, which is sitting right beside him.

"What methods of attack are they using?"

Sims is aggravated by her smile but currently, the entire Federation border patrol is under attack and the last thing he wants is an argument with Josi. A tough lady indeed.

In defeat, Sims takes his seat next to Josi and looks towards the viewscreen. Constantly sighing the Klingons begin to overpower the outnumbered and out-phasered border patrol.

Sims turns to Josi's side. "Commander.....any suggestions!? ....I was considering going directly in, a risky manuerver but better than watching another ship go down! ....."

Sims nods at his Commander's "go hard" attitude and returns his eyesight towards the viewscreen. With a nod to the Helmsmen, Sims gives the orders.....

"....Helmsman, take us near the main ship in the lead and weapons officer, fire like there is NO TOMORROW! Take the lead out! That should give the Klingon's a good one-two!"

The order is recieved and the Warlord goes in......

Josi eyes her Commanding Officer. Maybe she had gone too far with the arguing. She usually wasn't like that, but it had been a a really bad day.
