Agreements from me to you all abounds

Crikey, though! In all seriousness, this is sad. I, too, thought that when he died it would be at the teeth of a crocodile, but alas, it was a stingray that brought his death. How sad and unfortunate. He and his program were the source of inspiration for a production I made in 8th grade with my Movie Club (a pretty much failed club, didn't continue on when I left) following the life of a 6th grader, called The Student Hunter. To see this great source of inspiration gone is sad.

RIP, Steve Irwine

That sucks big time. Our boss told us today during work when the news came out. It's quite amazing that a stingray killed him, instead of crocodiles or sharks, or snakes etc.

Wah! I freaked out when I logged into MSN and it told me! Especially seeing as I was watching a wildlife thing last night and I went "That's the thing with Australia, you run out of the sea to avoid the killer crocs, sharks, sea snakes and jellyfish, and the spider thats hiding in your towel gets you."

I guess nature finally got fed up with him constantly hassling her.

I'll miss that crazy croc hunter.

He's cheated dead so many times, it's hard to believe he's really gone now.

RIP Steve Irwin.

Can't say I'm suprised, I've been pretty much waiting for him to die.

I mean...The way he acted, he was bound to have a short life. Yeah, not suprised.

In other news, the Department of Homeland Security has now banned stingrays from carry-on luggage. In a recent press release, a source revealed that $50 million has been allocated for the installation of stingray-detection technology at all major airports in the continental U.S.

(RIP, Steve Irwin. )

I'm not sure if it was my cold or this news that I woke up to that made me feel crappy all day. I liked to watch his show when I was a kid. It's really sad to know we won't be seeing him anymore.

I think it is sad that he is dead, his poor wife and kids are going to miss him so much. They will grow up without a father now!
I think he was very brave with animals and cared for them very much.He did a lot for conservation and tourism for australia too.
He was just an all round 'aussie larikan' who loved wildlife.
I used to say that he made aussies appear to be 'ockers' because of the way he talked. We do not all talk like that, just for the record!Only people who have lived most of their life in the bush. And even most of them dont speak that way either!
He was 'unique' and gave a lot of enthusiasm in caring for the wildlife and protecting their habitat.
BUT yes he did get in their face, picking up wild snakes in the bush just for the cameras. But it all helped bring about awareness on the importance of looking after our wildlife. That far outweighs any slight anxiety they may have felt when he picked them up or caught one of them!
R.I.P. STEVE IRWIN!!!!!!!

That's a great attitude isn't it. Its only a fish, who cares, kill it. Not surprised so many species are becoming extinct.

Stingrays are normally very docile and not agressive at all!I think if Steve could 'speak' from the grave. He would be telling people NOT to go around killing them for what happened. He was in their home and it was just protecting itself! Please do not go around killing stingrays just because ONE killed steve! Its just a ridiculous way to react to some thing that was a one off rare happening! Grow up people!

Pffft, look at your own life and realise how hypocrite that statement is.

Exactly. So, either the stingray had PMT, or he must've really upset it. Why was he swimming OVER it anyway?!!

I hope they don't kill loads of them. They're so pretty. And out of all the evil things that lurk in Australia, I think a stingray is the least of your worrys. Especially with box jellyfish...

I don't support killing animals for the sake of it. For all you know i may be a vegetarian.

I'm sure you drive a car/get driven around, join in on the mass consumption, you're also wasting energy and resources by using a computer to post on the internet... want me to continue?

How exactly does that relate to killing an animal directly?
