				| Aaaagh... I got the comic book and read it... and as much as I don't like comic books... it was good. And I'm glad I read it. But it just made me more angry and sad that it's over and there's still so much that didn't get to happen. Isn't there suposed to be a book in a few years?

				| Supposedly, there are two books planned. And about twelve proposals have been sent to Pocket Books. And Pocket Books has sent them all on to Joss Whedon.
And he hasn't yet gotten back on any of them, for whatever reason. So the books are up in the air right now.

However, further comics are happening, last I heard.

				| We all know I'm a big nerd. So, dweeb that I am, I love comentary. One of the commentarians for, Shindig, was the costume designer. She mentioned that Zoe's necklace is a symbol of her marriage to Wash. Cool. But did anyone else notice that she wears it even in the flash backs?

				| Haha.... she was... always married to him? In her heart?
Hey. The Firefly Companion is out now. And it says Volume One... so... that'd be totally cool if there were more than one.

I actually watched "The Train Job" today. I never feel like watching it but I finally did... it's a lot funnier than I remember. I shouldn't give it such a bad rap in my mind. I thought the same about "Trash" until I watched that again too. They're both pretty good.

 "You doped him?"

"It was actually supposed to kick in quite a bit sooner. I'm... sorry, I just didn't feel very comfortable with him in charge."

 Jayne: Pretty little angels...
 Everyone else: ...wtf? o.O

Loved that. And the bloopers from that episode are spectacular.

				| I got the Firefly Companion from Barnes&Noble... very cool. It's got the entire shooting script for the first 6 episodes (the rest come out later in volume 2), all in script format... plus deleted scenes and the scenes as they were originally written before they were changed to shooting. It also has actor, director, and writer interviews, behind the scenes pictures, and information about all the props and costumes. It's cool.

				| Has anyone else seen the "R. Tam Sessions" on YouTube? Joss Whedon and Summer Glau made them before Serenity came out. Y'all should take a look, they're pretty cool.

				| So... apparently no one reads this topic anymore, but I thought up some new things I hadn't thought of before when I was watching the series with a friend, introducing her to it.
 SPOILERS....?

  	  | Quote: | |
 1. In "Safe" Simon has three flashbacks first from childhood, then to later asking his parents about River, and again when his father is getting him out of jail for trying to find River. Mr. Tam seems like a really nice dude in the first one... not so much the second and third, he's more just annoyed and embarassed that his son is embarassing him... he's also not so concerned about River.

In the official Firefly Companion (which has the original shooting scripts of each episode) these three scenes are different... the first with Mr. Tam telling SImon he knows the Chief of Surgery at a hospital who will get Simon an attending position after his internship (which Simon respond to embarassed that his dad is buying his position in medicine), the second is another of Simon telling the folks that River's letters are coded- they ignore him, tell him that he just misses her but can't see her because government schools don't allow visitors, and finally a scene when Simon comes home from jail- both parents embarassed and his father saying he'll pay to get this scraped from Simon's record and when he says something about River, his mother replies with an italicized "river's not here!"

Anyway... the original script portrays the parents in a somewhat scarier light, which kind of bleeds through in the final edit, but not so much. Like... Joss Whedon is trying to only give us a hint.

So what do you think.... did the Tam parents send River to the Academy knowing why she was going and what would happen to her?

 2. Not so important, but also in "Safe" when Simon and River are about to be burned, River says something to the effect of "don't worry, Daddy will come save us." When I saw this the first couple times I thought she was just crazy and thinking Mr. Tam, as Simon probably thought she meant.

But then compare it to "Out of Gas" when River says "fire" and they all think she means blow out the candles and then the fire comes through or "Heart of Gold" when she says "it's time" and Mal thinks she means "time to get ready" but then understands she means "baby time" when Pedaline goes into labor....

Anyway.... I think that even by "Safe" River already considers Mal a strong (and close.... connotation "daddy") father figure.
