I know! Why doesn't everyone flock over to my 9/11 commemoration RPG?!
Anyways, yeah. Plot your little RPG. Let's see if it has the power to restore this "Golden Age" of RP'ing that apparently transpired prior to my arrival to the site.

I agree with you there. I have had more RPGs than i would have liked but i have had much more fun with my last few as they are of a higher standard, they dont seem to last as long but i still have more fun.
I remember the good old days when most of us were starting out and most posts would just be *goes to turbo lift* says "bridge" *turbo lift goes to the bridge*. and there would always be those odd few people that got u furious becase they tried to spice things up by sayind "Suddenly! 27 borg cubes drop out of warp dead ahead and all fire at the bridge!" dun dun dunnn

I was there for the tail end of the golden age, so I remember you. You probably don't remember me. I once went by B'Ellanna_Torrez. |
Ah yes, I remember you! Yeah, I can remember you I think in the roleplays we used to play......aren't you from Sweden by any chance or am I mixed up? But I do remember seeing your name around. Ha, yeah, that's the chap too, Tremiles. I wondered if he still came on. He used to be my "rival" but we got on in the end, we both rp'ed well. And Lana, I wouldn't mind chatting to her sometime again. I hope she comes back on. And Dappet, not rp'ing? By God, it's changed around here for sure! Dappet *ALWAYS* was starting off a new rp, he was in with the team like me, Syd and Valathous. But anyways, yeah.......nice ta meet ya again!

I sent ya a PM on some of the ideas. And maybe Syd, we might be able to ressurect the idea of roleplaying onto the forum, who knows now? But we have to try for sure!

Well, no offence, Republican_Man but......I'd rather personally not roleplaying the events of September 11th. They were terrible atrocities, my friend, but it is in the past and I would rather leave it there. But that is just my opinion.
And our "Golden Age" was really back in 2002, when me and Syd joined up, me just two days after Syd, funnily enough. New RPG's were sprinning up like there was no tomorrow and they usually did last for 14 or so pages, maybe 20 or 30 pages before gradually transpiring......and these were some of the "less" popular ones......we had not just StarTrek but Fantasy, Action, Science Fiction, Politics, based off computer games, you name it! We even had one for Command and Conquer: Generals and one of my all-time favourite games, originally started by Captain Dappet: ........An Arcanum AAR........geez, that was a good RPG. I played the Kingdom of Cumbria. Haha, sure, it was four years ago but the memories are still good. And both me and Captain Dappet finished off a "Predator" roleplay too. We both ended it and agreed to switch to Arcanum.

Ah, another senior, veteran STV member of the former roleplaying days! I remember you well, Ziona! Nice ta have you on board! Any help would be appreciated!
Anyway......let's try and follow Syd and bring back RPG'ing. If we have to take baby-steps with it, than so be it, but I think we can succeed, if we work together......

Woo, I'm remembered. No, not Swedish, though. I have played a few Germans in my days. Dappy's from Sweden. He got burnt out on the RP thing. And he changed his look dramatically. Siiiiiince the RP I had recently joined is down, I could help out with a new one, at least a little. I fancy meself a decent plotter, yes...

I have been RPGing since i joined this site.. but after awhile, the fun of it kinda dropped down for me. This also came because more and more RPG's where i enjoyed RPGing became inactive*Like the USS Pathfinder*. I hope that the RPG forum is upcoming again and that we may see many new RPG's. Like my new RPG, i am writing now

Wow, my pure intention of this topic has already been met, I really wanted to see if this attracted all the veteran role players of this great website.
I would like to annouce than myself and Kimsim are currently pulling a plot together for an RPG, and anyone that would like to help we can gladly provide what we have and take suggestions.
Also, this RPG will be a traditional golden stv age starship style RPG. If you are already interested please pm me for a list of possible positions and I'm sure I can reserve one for you. Our offical topic will be posted up very very soon, all depeding on how much we get done today.
As for now, please please continue this topic is almost like a flash back of 4 years ago!

Haha, I had no idea why I thought you was from Sweden but hey, nice to meet you once again and sure, it would be great ta have ya on board! We need good plotters as both me and Syd really want this to take off. It is going to be our "chance" to try and get this forum RP'ing again. The Golden Age, hey, it might now return if we try our hardest but anyone is free to join. And both of us have time to help keep it in check so it won't be dissapearing anytime soon.

I wish you the very best of luck with your RPG's, I'll be sure to check it out. And I, too, hope this will be the forum RPG's resurgance. I guess it's time for the oldies to get things back on track, just like they were in the Golden Age.

Syd, you are the member that brings everyone together! Seriously, if it wasn't for you, I might not have returned I am glad I did. I'd like to help really get things moving again. Return it to when we both first joined up as newbies, so future newbies can have fun, too.
Anyways, yeppers, that is correct, folks, both me and Syd are making up a new RPG of an old "friend" that has a chance to return to this dark future of little roleplaying. We will get the basics posted up I think and add more later, but just show folks what we are planning, I think. But we have made good progress, the old "Syd/Ksim" team works wonders, he he.
And yes, it will be a traditional 2002 kind of RPG but it'll be fun, a good "flashback". Really, it does make you think, I'll give you that. I hope that maybe, just maybe, that even former Veteran members like LanariaRayton or Tremiles will catch this going on and consider joining. And Dan, well, Valathous, now we had some fun there.
Right, well, listen to Syd, let's keep the love of four years ago going, people! Let's go back to 2002! YEEHA! .......Or 2003, that was a good roleplay year, but anyway, let's get cracking!

You know, STV currently is harbouring the best RPG it's ever seen in it's 5 year history in Deep Space Guardian...
I'm really surprised none of the RPG thirsty people that have posted in here that aren't already in it, haven't joined. What a blast. Best organization, plot lines, and quality ever seen on this site.
But by all means, continue to make your own. The site could still use more RPGs.

Well, I might look into it, actually, but still, I'd like to try and get this new one going with Syd. We are still working on it but crowding one is not a brilliant idea, you do need a good mixture.

We need to have a wide range of role playing games which encourages newer members to seek out role playing. Also, many can argue DSG being the ultiminte "best rpg" I would describe it more as a revolutionary rpg with its episode style role playing. But noone can argue that it is the most successful in this present time.

Now to know that your back, Josi, and the Skylark is back up! Boy.......does that bring back memories.......
*Daydreams*
.....Heh heh......but anyways, yeah, the Skylark is another good RPG that we need up in this hour of darkness. FORWARD! FORWARD TO VICTORY!
..........Also, just to let you know, my enthuiasm for STV is strong, stronger as it was some years ago. It is an honour to be back among friends.

I don't know if I ever got to RP with you Ksim, but, undoubtedly, one of the best RPGs ever was the original janeway9's Crew of the USS Voyager. But, if we did get an idea for a good RP going, yeah, I would join up. (Mind you, my posting time would be limited due to my full class load and soccer practice/games on top of that )

I too have my own new RPG. Its been in the RPD section for around a month now and no one seems interested. Id like you all to check it out. And just to let you know im working on the whole less is more idea. This RPG isnt going to be so much about the star ship and the story line, but about the characters. just like TOS & TNG. I suggest you guys check it out and let your imagination run wild.
I agree with valathous DSG is a great rpg, i was a semi-regular on there for quite some time and enjoyed it alot. for some reason i reminds me of the old rpgs on here years ago back when many of us were still quite new
*sits in rocking chair reminising about the past* hehe

Lol this one of the onely sites where we can Star Trek RPG... If we would start a RPG on a other RPGing site (which I have tried but failed...) they wouldn't understand us and laugh us out, Moderator locked my topic cause it was not of importance in the forum . I deleted the site of my site list, so I would need to search google again to find it.

Dah, comrade, you would think that in such dark times when we fight just to keep this one star trek rpg place present, that with everyone else shunting us away, there would be more present. I too have tried a trek rpg on a non-trek site with similar results. Actually worse results, my ip address was permanently banned because I was posting, and I'm quoting exactly out of the e-mail "non-relative fictional content which could be taken wrong by the more religious members of the site."... It was of all things, a science fiction site. I would think the entire site could be taken wrong, but alas, my dear comrades, I think we will have to hold a huge rally to keep things a running. RM, Break out the signs, and arm the door to doors. We've got a rally to create!
