I'm not allowed anymore piercings because I plan to give blood at christmas after my 17th birthday. ]
It's annoying, but I guess it'll stop me "mutilating myself"

We're having another blood drive at work on Tuesday. My blood type is A+ according to my donor card. And apparently I'm free of some common virus so my blood can be given to neo-natal infants.

I couldn't. I like as few needles as possible. If it were for a Klingon ritual or personal ideal, I would gladly slice my hand and pledge an oath, or something. But I just won't give blood. I'm happy to contribute in other ways to medicine. And my organs are up for grabs when I die.

LoL. Ya, I hate needles too. At the hospital, it took two doctor's and a few nurses to get me down once to take blood. I hate HATE needles and the general idea of someone taking stuff out of my body.

- I always look away when people get use needles on tv, and I balled my eyes out when I hate to get a shot when I was 14. I don't like pointy things...I sold knives for a while. I think it's more about being chased...
I think if I could give blood it would be hard for me to. I am thinking of giving up my organs after I die.

They had another blood drive at work today, I managed to sign up for this one. It's pretty cool that LL Bean has us donate while on the clock, and this year it took three hours, (Total process time)

I gave blood back in January at school. Hey, it got me out of third period. I actually enjoyed myself since they had cookies and chips and stuff. And I found out that I'm O Positive.

I have given blood twice (both for a blood drive that was held at my high school). As of St. Patrick's Day, I am eligible to give blood again, so I'm probably going to be looking around for a local blood drive. When I gave blood the second time, I found out that my blood type (A Negative) is one that they'd like it if you did the double.....thing. I honestly can't remember what it is called, but it's the one where they take a unit of blood, put the platelets back in the body, and then take another unit.

That sounds... gross, tbh. I like the fact that I only take 5 min 30 sec to fill the bag, after that, I want out. When they do the drives at work, they bring in those portable tables, instead of the recliners, and I feel like an ass laying there in front of all my co-workers, Which is what giving blood is all about, obviously. Tsk @ me.

I've done it only once, and I don't know if I'll ever do it again. Having blood drawn I can do, but the sensation of having all the blood gushing out of you is not something I enjoyed. I know I helped people because I have O- blood but maybe next time, I might be the one needing the blood!

I've been a blood donor. Here (in Italy) you must be at least 18 to give blood, and not older than 65.
I know this might sound selfish, but giving blood kind of made me feel happy. I mean, I knew I was doing something useful to community, and I felt glad for that.

Blood giving allowed for 18 yrs and above who are not anemic. You can make it as a donations or you can sell it to the blood bank in the hospital.

I tried to donate blood at FMH (local hospital) but I was anemic. I got a thank you note with card stating when I can try again. When you get turned down for being anemic they want to make sure you are healthy enough the next time, the date on the card was suggesting for about a year and half later.
