Fri Sep 08, 2006 8:01 pm 40 Years of Trek!!! |
|
Fox just reported this as their "This Day in History" thing. 40 years ago today Star Trek debuted! It's the 40 year anniversary of Trek! (I'm not posting this in the TOS forum because though it was the premier of TOS, it covers a lot more ground than this. It's the debut of Trek period.)

True. Hopefully the lull right now will eventually be good for the franchise. Either that or it's the end. But personally I'm hoping for the first one

I say we all gather for a giant celebration at paramount, with a cake, and one big candle. But the candle's a bomb, so we kill everyone in the studio and TAKE OVER. THEN, and ONLY THEN shall we revive Trek, with a real series by the fans, and for the fans!
RSVP and please bring dynamite.
...seriously. It's cool Trek's 40. It's been influential in the world. Certainly my world.

40! Who can believe it? I can! But it's just in a lull right now, and I think it's a good lull, what with the failure of ENT and such. It's good. It needs a little bit of down time. It had 3 successful series, one right after the other, then a flop, and a good movie with Potential, just not enough. So the down time is good. Give Trek a slight rest. But don't rest too long! We still need it!!!

TV Land did a mini marathon of Trek, and is now going to have it in it's regular line-up. It should help w/ the ratings, awareness of Trek. Some of my family is watching it again because they're seeing more of it.
