Warming at the earth's surface is caused by certain gases in the atmosphere which can trap energy from the sun.

So technically if the ozone hole is getting bigger and more CFCs are in the atmosphere it would enhance the greenhouse effect. But if there is just a hole with no CFCs there would be no increase in temperatures. Just an increase in Ultraviolet radiation and therefore more skin cancer etc

Duh! UV is converted into heat.

I haven't been able to find one single source which states that the extra UV radiation due to the hole has increased temperatures.

The ozone layer traps heat, so if it gets destroyed, the upper atmosphere actually cools, thereby offsetting part of the warming effect of other heat-trapping gases. But that's no reason to rejoice: the cooling of the upper layers of the atmosphere can produce changes in the climate that affect weather patterns in the higher latitudes.

That's because the effect of changing UV on climate is only beginning to be measured and understood.

Well sorry if I don't take your word for it. Until you can prove me wrong I will stick by my analysis.

The increase in UV radiation, as a result of the thinning of the ozone layer, does not directly increase temperatures. However the increase in UV radiation combined with the cooling of the stratosphere as a result of the destruction of ozone can have impacts on the climate, such as air motions and chemical processes.

So, do you understand that UV radiation has more energy per photon than visible light?

Where do you think that extra energy goes?
