Did Sisko beleive in the Prophets? I know at first he thought of them as nothing more than wormhole aliens, but as time went along, he seemed to gain more respect for them. But was it a result of a conversion or because he knew they cared for Bajor and Sisko did as well?

Probably allies of the sort at first, then towards a bit of both, then towards believer, I saw some 5th season episodes where he was def a beleiver, and acting like a true emmisary, and not some uncomfortible person with the title.

I think he believed in them as guides, and yes, higher lifeforms, but ultimately allies rther than gods
