CNN.com to Replay 9/11 Attacks Coverage
Aug 25 2:12 PM US/Eastern
CNN will mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks by replaying on the Internet the cable network's coverage of that day's events. Viewers can watch how events unfolded starting at 8:30 a.m., minutes before the first reports of an airplane hitting the World Trade Center. The feed will run in real time, as the network showed it five years ago, until midnight. |

Kyle Reese told me this. This is pretty cool, I suppose, of them. I might watch some of it online.

I have always wanted the actual major TV stations like ABC and NBC to do this on TV actually. I think it would be good for people.

I actually downloaded the ABC news coverage of it a year ago and watched it. It was interesting to see how it all unfolded.

How would it be good for the people? If I remember correctly, they played the same footage so many times on September 11th that people who would have been just plain scared were having panic attacks.
I think that having the footage online is a brilliant idea, because it allows the viewers to choose when and if they want to see it. I for one would like to see it again. Why, I'm not entirely sure.

This is not about 9/11 but you can listen to a BBC London radio show which was live as the first reports of the London bombings happened:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/networks/london/aod.shtml?london/jongaunt_bombings#
The first report comes in at 8:30 in, first report is very vague and doesn't mention anything, just mentions that the tube should be avoided.
Its talk radio so a lot of it is from callers that were in the attacks.

Apparently Fox is doing the same thing, streaming their streaming coverage beginning at 8:30 AM.
