PostMon May 29, 2006 6:40 pm    [Prov RPG] USS Galaxia- Needs Crew!

Welcome to the USS Galaxia, NCC-74657, one of the newer ships in Starfleet. It is a Sovereign Class vessel, the first to bear the name Galaxia. It's fate is yet unknown. Even the captain doesn't know his orders yet. Since the chances of the Galaxia being put into combat situations are greater than normal, it is fitted with a cloaking device made by Klingon and defected Romulan scientists. Although the Galaxia is fitted with this feature, they are to use it as a last resort only.

Bridge

The Bridge is the nerve center of the entire ship - here, some of the most important events take place. The Command Chair, XO's Station and Second Officer's station are located in the center. The forward "crescent" station contains the CONN & OPS board. The wooden railing in the center is Tactical, with two auxiliary stations on either side. Starting from the left, Exit to the Prep Room, Replicator, the forward station is Security, then along the wall to LCARS 1, LCARS 2, Aux 3, Engineering Station, Turbolift 1, Briefing Lounge, Master System Display, Briefing Lounge, Turbolift Two, Science Station, Environmental Systems, Communications, Mission Operations, Captain's Ready Room, and finally, the Head.

Captain's Ready Room

Located on Deck One, adjacent to the Bridge, the Captain's Ready Room serves as his office. There is a couch large enough to sleep on, and a fully functional Head adjacent to the office.

First Officer's Office

The First Officer maintains an Office on Deck Two, across directly across from the Second Officer's Office.

Second Officer's Office

The Second Officer maintains an Office on Deck Two, across directly across from the First Officer's Office.

Observation Lounge

The observation lounge is located on the same deck as the bridge, and is where the ship's senior officer's meet to discuss and prepare for upcoming and current missions. it also offers a private room for officers to chat during bridge duty, about whatever they may need to.

Engineering

Ever impressive, Main Engineering takes up space on Decks 19, and 20. Engineers will tell you that this, not the Bridge, is the true nerve center of the ship. Perhaps they're right - after all, without Engineering, it's very doubtful we'd be heading anywhere.

Nacelle Control

Nacelle control, located in the forward section of each nacelle, directly behind the bussard collectors and fore of the plasma relays.

Impulse Control

Impulse Control is located directly behind the impulse engines.

Torpedoe Bay

The various torpedoe bays are located behind the bays on the Galaxia. They are fully automated, but may be manually loaded in case of emergency.

Sickbay

Located on Deck 12, the Galaxia maintains an extensive sickbay, with a staff of over fifteen doctors to see to the health of the Galaxia's personnel. The CMO always keeps the department in tip-top shape. Sickbay is also equipped with a MARK V EMH.

Main Security Office

The Galaxia's Main Security office was a design contribution by Chief Miles O'Brien, based on the OPS of Deep Space Nine. The arrangement suits Security almost perfectly. At the top left is the main high-speed turbolift access, and ext to it , and emergency transporter. The doors on the bottom left lead to the Brig and Armory, while the main entrance is along the right wall, next to the Chief of Security's Office. There is also Jeffries tube access from the pit in the floor.
The Chief of Security's office, located adjacent to the Security office, is where the Chief of Security handles Department business. It also has its own direct link to the Starfleet Security Database at Starfleet Headquarters.

Brig

The Brig is located on Deck 32, directly across from the Main Security Office. While any of the cells are occupied, it is manned by at least one security officer.

Ops Center

Perhaps one of the most important areas of the ship, and located directly next to the Computer Core, is the OPS Center. Here, personnel monitor and allocate resources to the entire ship, feeding all information directly to the OPS station on the Bridge.
Located adjacent to the OPS Center, the OPS Manager's office has possibly the most detailed interface with the ship's computer, and is where the OPS Manager takes care of Department business.

Shuttlebay

The shuttlebays serve as the launching areas for the Galaxia's many extra-vehicular craft.
Shuttlebay One: Main Shuttlebay:Decks 7 and 8
Shuttlebay Two: Deck 27

Cargo Bay

The cargo bays, located in many sections on the Galaxia, serve as storage areas for various components for the ship and for large belongings of passangers.

Main Laboratory

Spread throughout the ship, though primarily in the saucer section, the Science Labs serve as locations for any members of the crew to do whatever research is necessary (or even preferred). The various labs include (but aren't limited to) the Main Lab, Stellar Cartography, Astrometrics, Exobiology, Planetary Sciences, & the Arboretum.

Astrometrics

A supplemental office to Stellar Cartography, Astrometrics also serves an important function in mapping and exploratory expeditions.

Xenobiology Lab

The Xenobiology lab is shared by Sickbay and Sciences, and is used to study all new forms of life the crew encounters.

Holography Lab

The Holography lab is one of the most frequently used by the Science Department, having the ability the let them visualize their theories in 3D. It is also used by the technicians in Holographic research.

Counseling Offices

Located on Deck 11, The Counseling offices are sort of "A sickbay for the mind" Appointments available by request, assignment or walk-in.

Ten-Forward

Ten-Forward is located in the forward most section of the saucer, on deck ten. It is the main lounge for the ship's officers and crew.

Officer's Mess

The Officer's Mess is located on Deck Three, and is the typical dining place of choice for the Captain and Senior Officers, when not dining in their quarters.

Mess Hall

The Mess Halls, located on various decks, are utilized by those personnel who do not wish to dine alone.

Decompression/Decontamination

The Decompression/Decontamination is an auxiliary unit to Sickbay, and is manned and used as necessary. It is also used as an isolation ward in the event of a possible plague outbreak, or if the CMO needs to do research or care on a highly contagious patient.

Primary Computer Core

The Primary Computer Core is an immense, eight-deck structure with a hollow center. Directly adjacent to the OPS Center, the Core is responsible for all ship's computer operations. The Galaxia also has a secondary and tertiary core, located elsewhere on the ship.

Deflector Control

Deflector control is located amidships, immediately behind the deflector array. From here, override commands may be sent, as well as maintenance hatch access to the interior of the dish.

Main Docking Port

The Main Docking Port, located on Deck 16 is the main entryway to the ship, and the first thing one sees when one comes aboard for the first time.

Holodeck

The Holodecks are the most commonly used recreation facilities on the Galaxia, and are capable of reproducing any environment imaginable in utterly convincing detail. Most crew members say the Holodecks are what keep them sane. They are also used as a training ground for Security.

Jeffries Tube

The Jeffries tubes are the maintenance crawlways used by Engineering. Throughout the tubes, one can access virtually any area of the ship.

Ship's Library

The Ship's Library is used as a public research are for all personnel. The Library also holds hard copy of the best works of all Federation Member worlds, for those who like the feel of a good book in their hands.

Captain's Quarters

The Captains Quarters, located on Deck 2, immediately below the bridge. Also on Deck 2 are the other senior officer's quarter's, all nearby. They are twice the size of regular officer's quarters. Rank, after all, has it's privileges.

Officer's Quarters

Located throughout much of the upper half of the ship, the Officer's Quarters are standard issue. They can be enlarged to accommodate married couples, with the Commanding Officer's Quarters being double the size of any of the Senior Staffs. CO's Quarters, as well as Senior Officers, are located on Decks 2 and 3. Junior Officers and Senior NCOs Share the same space, but all with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade or below must share quarters with a roommate.

Barracks

Located throughout large portions of the ship, The Enlisted Barracks serve as home to all Junior Non-Commissioned Officers, Starfleet and SFMC alike. Senior NCOs (Chiefs and above) get the equivalent of Officer's Quarters.

Department Cheif's Office

Department Chief's Office - Typically located adjacent to the primary location of that department, the Chief's Office is a standard space assigned for a Department Chief's usage.

Transporter Room

Thirteen transporter Rooms are spread throughout the Galaxia, serving as the crew's primary conveyance on and off ship.

Medical
Medical Tricorder

The medical tricorder (MT) consists of a standard tricorder, to which is added a specialized medical peripheral (MP) device. This peripheral, one of a number of dedicated auxiliary computing options available to Starfleet crews, adds many powerful sensor and analysis functions to those used by sickbay personnel aboard the ship.

Dermal Regenerator

A medical instrument used to seal minor wounds.

Hypospray

The air-spray hypodermic device uses a high velocity jet of gas rather than a needle for hypodermic injection. The pre loaded vial contains a colloidal field suspension of as many as six different drugs or chemical compounds in a heterogeneous state, any one of which may be accessed by choosing the correct filter aperture. Medical kit hypos are typically pre loaded with the following set of drugs:
Cordrazine: a powerful stimulant.
Masiform-D: a stimulant and antitoxin for saplin-like poisons.
Tri Ox Compound: respiratory assistant.
Dylovene: a broad-spectrum anti-toxin.
Sterilite: an antibiotic anti-infective.

Name/Rank: Lieutenant Commander Planet
Position: Counselor
Race: Ziplonian
Age: 25

Ziplonians are a race bent on helping anyone in need. Planet joined the academy to help emotionally anyone that needed it. They are a humanoid race and are very similar to what you know as Betazoids, with the power to "read" minds. They also do not require oxygen to live. They can travel outside of space crafts without suits or any special breathing equipment for only a short period of time, which also depends on age and experience in space. This particular Ziplonian can only go about an hour, then he starts feeling light headed and will pass out and eventuall die. They draw most of their energy from any sun or powerful light force, but in the absence of one, simulated forms will work. Ziplonians travel with a case containing such simulaton. They get weakened after long-term exposure to polutants, which is why Planet didn't get a degree in Engineering...just incase of an attack, he would be useless in the department.
