Recent Earth History:
World War III began in 2012�a massive war of proportions greater than World War II, with a few nuclear warheads thrown among a few countries along the way.
As happened historically as a result of World War II, a new world organization was created, only this time it was a far more supranational organization. The Organization of United Earth States (OUES) was created, encompassing each state of the Earth after peace had been achieved in the post-war World Peace Pact of 2015. Thusly, in 2020 the OUES was created.

While each state maintained its own sovereignty on certain issues, the majority was handed over to the new World Government�including all military matters, though each state was allowed to have a certain number of their own defense forces. And hence, with international affairs, for the most part, nonexistent, emphasis and focus could be placed on space.
In 2024 the United Earth Space Agency was created, dedicated to �exploring the Final Frontier.� Within this new space agency would soon exist what would later be titled the �United Earth Space Navy� (�Space Navy,� for short), the driving force within the Agency, dealing solely in actual Starcraft created by the organization.
UESA (pronounced u-suh) launched its first manned spacecraft in 2028. Its mission: to go to the moon, which had not been done since the 1969 Apollo 11 mission.
The Apollo Star mission was a success. Following this, UESA launched its Atlantis Space Station project, creating a new, larger, more comprehensive space station to orbit Earth than was the International Space Station, which had ceased to operate since the 2012 war. The station would be the staging ground for the first Earth interstellar spacecraft in history.
Atlantis Station was completed in 2042 and boasted a massive size unseen in past space stations. There 100 people could live for up to five years without aid from below, or 300 for 1.5 years, changing Earth forever. It was the staging point for three new space shuttles launched from 2045 to 2050, bringing supplies to the moon for the creation of a new colony.
A new age was dawning for the planet. A new Revolution was afoot. The Interstellar Revolution had begun.

But nothing prepared the planet, in that remarkable span of time, for what would happen in 2042. UESA designers had, for the past 9 years, been researching and designing a new, massive interstellar spacecraft which they dubbed the Star Voyager project, designing the first of a line of interstellar space craft title the Exploration-line Starcraft.
In 2051 the next phase of the project began.
Chancellor Miguel Hernandez, chief of state for the planetary government, announced the start of production on the Star Voyager project which would, in his words, �bring upon a new age for the People of Earth.� It took 11 years to complete construction on the �starcraft,� so that all the flaws could be rectified, and alas, it was done, and the Interstellar Revolution made its way to glory that was never before seen...

Starcraft History: 2062 would be a day long in infamy for the people of Earth.
UESA designers had, for nine years, beginning in 2042, been researching and designing a new, massive interstellar spacecraft which they dubbed the Star Voyager project. This project, being the first of its kind, required a great amount of time for the design phase, due to its complexity and ingenuity, as well as the need to get ahead of current technology.
In 2051 the next phase of the project began.
Chancellor Miguel Hernandez, chief of state for the planetary government, announced the start of production on the Star Voyager project which would, in his words, �bring upon a new age for the People of Earth.� The �starcraft,� dubbed the Star Voyager, began construction at its design location, the United Earth Space Agency Headquarters in Colorado, United Provinces of America. After only three years of production, when there was much to be done, it was decided that it was all but necessary to continue production in space, at the Atlantis Station. And so the craft, in a specialized capsule and state taking two years to build (as well as to construct additional facilities on the station), was launched to Atlantis.
There the Star Voyager underwent several more years of construction and testing, and in 2062 the first interstellar starcraft was complete.
In a grand ceremony the crew of 150 was called forth to Atlantis to await its destiny as the first of a new line of spacecraft�the Exploration-line starcraft�and the first interstellar spaceship to leave the planet Earth�

Command Deck Layout: Primary Command Center, Secondary Command Center, Captain�s Office, Conference Room
The Command Deck is centered on the Captain�s Chair, with individual consoles, each 12 feet from the seat and 5 feet apart from one another. The Pilot and Navigator/Communications Officer are stationed at the forward console, in front of the forward viewscreen, which is placed on the forward wall. All other Primary Command Center officers sit at their consoles, generally facing the Captain.
The Command Deck is set up in a circular mode, upon which all consoles sit. Senior CD Officers include the Captain, XO, Communications Chief, Chief Defense Officer, and Pilot. Secondary CC Officers, which are placed just outside the Primary Command Center on a slightly lower level, and stand at their stations, include the Chief Research Officer, Secondary Communications Officer, Stellar Cartographer, etc.
The Command Deck also includes the Captain�s Office and Command Staff Conference room, which are both attached to the Secondary Command Center, with the Captain�s Office to the back left and the Conference Room to the back right.

Background: Born in the South of France to an astronomical researcher and a hardened former member of the country's elite special forces combat police squad, Kiyraesyn was raised to believe in the promises of the future and of the type of discipline needed to achieve such advancement. She began studying foreign languages almost as soon as she could speak in her own native tongue. Delancie blew her Bac exams out of the water and left high school at the top of her class. She attended the finest post-secondary academies available to her in France, and once she finished, she immediately applied to join the same special forces her father had lead for over 30 years before retiring.

She stayed with the Gendarmerie for several years, picking up sniping and unique combat techniques. She also gained notice by the French military because of her excellent piloting abilities. While training abroad shortly before being admitted to work on the Star Voyager Project, Kiyraesyn met James Wesley Azzar through her husband, Luke Chapman, Director of Combat Training on base at Quantico, in Virginia. Their acquaintanceship evolved into a closer friendship after a terror attack on the Main Arrival Platform at OUES HQ threatened Azzar's life. Although Azzar survived the blast from the explosion, Kiyraesyn's husband did not. Azzar was the man who delivered the news of Luke Chapman's death to his wife.

Two months later, Kiyraesyn, still recovering from the loss of her husband, became bored of the lifestyle that came with working in law enforcement and felt that she had begun to lose her sense of curiosity about the stars. These feelings surfaced shortly especially after the sudden death of her mother, Mireille, who had been one of Kiyrae's closest mentors and companions her entire life. Having now lost two people whom she cared deeply for within the timespan of two months, Kiyraesyn waited six more before she went to work on the latest project: Star Voyager and attributes her accomplishments to her mother and husband, whose memories, she says, will never die as long as the "Interstellar Revolution" never does either.

Tensions Rise as War Looms on Horizon

Washington, D.C. � President John Rutherford announced today that the threats posed by the new Islamic Union, consisting of the majority of Shi�ite and Sunni Muslim states of the Middle East, and North Korea will no longer be tolerated, calling on the United Nations to take action and prevent a deadly confrontation


�The Last Jihad� Begun

Jerusalem, Israel � The Islamic Union today launched an attack on the Jewish state of Israel, prompting a ferocious response from Prime Minister Benjamin Doron, with the United States united behind it.

War has been looming over the horizon for the last few years, with the rise of the Islamic Union and nuclear weapons buildup of North Korea and other enemies of the United States. And now, with the nuclear attack on Israel, the situation has reached critical mass.

From the Capital this morning President Rutherford announced not only a declaration of support for the state, but has asked the Congress to officially declare war�an action that has not been done since the Korean War of the 1950s--on the Union, which has the firm backing of Indonesia and the Philippines, as well as Egypt.

Even more dangerous is the recent union between Russia and China, as well as the rogue state of North Korea. The South American Communist Coalition poses a great threat as well, with the United States, Canada, Western Europe, and Australia facing the war of a lifetime.

The expectation, analysts say, is that there will soon be a massive three-way war to occur, predicting the start of a new Third World War, even more deadly than its predecessor.

With the United States successfully recruiting the states of NATO into the effort to back Israel against the Islamic Union, there is no doubt any longer that war is truly about to commence, on a scale far larger than even that of the Nazi regime of World War Two, of which this current war has striking similarities to.

Islamic Union President Akmed Alawi, as the attack on Israel took place, made a startling statement, proclaiming, �The Last Jihad has begun. At last the destruction of Israel is at hand. At last the United States will fall. At last we shall have our revenge.� He ended his speech with his traditional proclamation of �Praise Allah!�

The result of this speech: only a solidification of the deadly results that this new world war will produce.

The Congress is to commence a special emergency voting session tonight, and is expected to approve the President�s request for a declaration of war.


Death and Destruction Continue to Reign as WWIII Meets One-Year Anniversary

Tehran, Iran � As the Allies fend off the Axis of Evil in South America, on the Axis�s steady pace north towards the United States, casualties are racking up, and President Akmed Alawi responded to President Rutherford�s announcement yesterday.

Yesterday, in response to the advance of the Axis of Evil, as President Rutherford has christened the enemy forces, up north after using Axis ally Argentina as a staging point for conquest, Rutherford announced his plans to attack the Islamic Union with a nuclear arsenal if they do not disarm immediately.

However, President Akmed Alawi, hailing from Tehran, has denounced the move and declared his intentions to continue his advance up north, where, upon arriving in Mexico, he will launch a nuclear attack on the United States.

Taking the threat ever-seriously, Rutherford declared firmly, �The United States will not back down in the face of terror and evil. I assure my fellow Americans that we will fight this to the last breath, and I will not allow this nation which has stood for well over two hundred years to be dissolved.� He continued his speech by reiterating his statement from immediately after the original Israel attack, declaring, �If you are not with us, then you�re against us.�

Tehran remains ever-vigilant and staunch in their position just as much, proclaiming, �The destruction of Israel has been successful, conquest achieved, and now the Christian infidels in the United States and other nations of the world will suffer the same fate as Israel.�

The only luck the United States and its allies will have, it seems, is if Russia and China determine that the Islamic Union, which has made alliances with North Korea, Argentina, Pakistan, Turkey, and Libya, poses a viable threat to them, bringing the countries into the fight not as a US enemy, but as an unofficial ally.

All hopes for freedom, it seems, lie in the success of the mission of the Allies.


World Peace Pact Signed

Geneva, Switzerland � In the only state that managed to remain neutral in the war, world leaders came together this week to broker an unprecedented peace agreement, an agreement reached yesterday in Geneva.

United States President Jack McCoy, Islamic Union President Muhammad Zewail, and all the other nations of the world agreed, after almost three years of devastating war, to expand the Cease Fire signed between the two main factions last month to a full-fledged peace treaty, declaring the World Peace Pact of 2015, which ended hostilities totally and formally, bringing the many nations of the world together once again.

Now, in the wake of the most deadly war ever to impact the Earth, with roughly 2 billion total deaths, there is much rebuilding to take place, and the many countries across the world are uniting to give solid aide to their fellow states in order to rebuild the planet after this terrifying war.


OUES Constitution Approved

Pacific Grove, California - Eight years to the day after the start of World War Three, each of the world's states have approved the Constitution of the Organization of the United Earth States, a world body that has been greatly improved from the admitted galactic failures of the United Nations and is far more supranational than its predecessor, with a strong majority vote of approval, with 85% of the world vote going towards the creation of that organization.

While including sovereignty positions for the different states of the world, the majority of planetary governance will occur in Pacific Grove, in Monterey County, California, the ever-expanding town installed as the World Capital and best known for its Victorian housing and breathtaking ocean views.

From hereon out, each state will maintain its own sovereignty on certain issues, while the majority will be ceded to the new World Government, including all military matters, though each state will be permitted a specified number of self-defense forces, if necessary.

World Body elections are set to occur in six months�


NORAD Complex Reworked

Colorado Springs, Colorado � In response to the stability of the world and achievement of world peace, the former United States of America-turned United Provinces of America�s Cheyenne Mountain Complex, headquarters of NORAD, is to be transformed into a new strategic headquarters for the new stated goal of the OUES: to explore the far-reaches of space, what they have titled the �Final Frontier.�


United Earth Space Agency Created
Sunday, May 19th, 2024


Colorado Springs, Colorado � Its stated goal is to �explore the Final Frontier,� and less than two years after the declaration of the reworking of the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, the OUES has announced the start of a federally-funded space exploration program, the United Earth Space Agency. Its first project, upon being structured: the second manned exploration mission to the moon, unachieved since the 1969 Apollo 11 mission.

Broadcasting from its headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, within the depths of Cheyenne Mountain, former home to NORAD, this organization will be the first massive, world-wide effort for space exploration.

The first task of the UESA has been announced as being that of the initiation of a manned mission to the moon, not achieved since the 1969 Apollo 11 mission. It is anticipated that this mission will be achieved by the end of the decade, and, if successful, the World Government will grant the organization more much-needed funds to expand their operation.

Chancellor Reiman declared today, during the announcement, from his home in Boston, Massachusetts, that �with all the successes of and advancements made by the People of Earth, my administration�s eyes lie on the true future of the Terran people. They lie on space, the Final Frontier.�

When the Chancellor was elected into office in 2020 a staple of his 6-year term, he declared, would be the exploration of space, and it seems as though that goal is, at last, fully materializing.


Apollo Star Mission Successful

Colorado Springs, Colorado � The United Earth Space Agency�s mission to the moon ended in loud cheers as the Apollo Star team returned to the Cheyenne Mountain complex last night.

It was named after the successful Apollo 11 mission to the moon, the only successful attempt until now, and had just as much--if not more--success. The Apollo Star team returned at about 8:30 local time with nothing but great news to behold�

Colorado Springs, Colorado � United Earth Space Agency Chief Administrator Dimitri Rozhenkos announced today, on the one-year anniversary of the successful Apollo Star mission, plans for the construction of the first global space station not seen since the International Space Station, and even more so.

It is an undertaking far more than that of the International Space Station, a project undertaken in the late 90s and early 2000s and abandoned in 2012 in the outset of the Third World War.

Expected to be the staging point for a number of future long-distance space exploration missions to be conducted under UESA ((OOC: Like NASA sounds out as Nasa, pronounce as U-sa)), the agency is expected to boast an incredibly massive size, have a great deal of improvements from the past station designs, and have a design a great deal different from previous space station attempts.

The Administrator has announced expectations for the station to be capable of housing 400 people, with 150 people able to live there for five years without aide from below and 400 able to live there for 1.5 years without aide�


Atlantis Station Project Completed

Colorado Springs, Colorado � On the day for which Americans still celebrate Independence, as the French do the storming of the Bastille, the completion of the Atlantis Station Project, which began construction in 2030, has at last been proclaimed.

UESA officials today announced the news this morning in a press conference outlining the intentions for use of the station, which will primarily be a staging ground for all future exploration missions, as well as a space shipyard for improved spacecraft production.

Designing and initial construction of new spacecraft will be done on Earth, in the Cheyenne Mountain complex, the Kennedy Space Center, the San Francisco Drive Yards, or the Houston Space Center and Shipyards, but the final construction for projects will be done in space, a plan which, according to agency officials, �greatly enhance the productivity and capabilities of the United Earth Space Agency.�

The first project to use the station as a staging point will be the Colonial One space shuttle, a shuttle intended on being the first to arrive to the moon to begin the Colonial One colony, the very first extraterrestrial colony to be constructed by anyone from the planet Earth.

Its scheduled launch will be in three years, followed by the Colonial Two two years later, and Colonial three in 2050. Therefore, it is anticipated that by 2051 we shall see the first fully productive extraterrestrial colony yet, on the moon, to be used as a staging point for numerous other missions, as well as copious other projects, both UESA and otherwise.

Chancellor Miguel Hernandez cheered the results today, declaring the �dawn of a new age� for mankind.

And yet many people are opposed to this new development. Immediately upon hearing the news, the North American-based Isolationist Party transformed their usual Independence Day celebrations into rallies against this move.

Their stated party goals, since its formation in 2038, revolve around the prevention of any significant developments in space exploration, citing the need to be isolated from extraterrestrials and focused on the problems facing Earth at home.

Political analysts now fear that continued improvements in exploration technology, methods, and all other related issues may prompt an uprising of the party and its supporters in the near future, or at least some troubles for the World Body.

Colorado Springs, Colorado � The United Earth Space Agency today has begun the design phase of the first interstellar spacecraft known to man, titled the �Star Voyager.�

UESA Chief Administrator Joseph Barkley, upon announcing the start of a new massive space exploration project, also announced that a new internal space fleet organization, known as the United Earth Space Navy, has been created and will manage the construction of this new spacecraft, as well as all future major starcraft endeavors in the future.

The United Earth Space Navy
It has been said to be a �branch of the United Earth Space Agency,� yet it is very much a separate entity. The United Earth Space Navy will be the intra-Agency organization to lead in long-distance, manned interstellar space operations and missions, whereas UESA will remain as the organization which deals with purely scientific matters, such as technology, satellites, shorter-distance manned missions, and the like.

Its command structure will be far more stringent than UESA�s, as it will be a more militaristic organization, in terms of structure, as opposed to the comparatively laxed structure of its overseeing organization.

Tensions Rise as Moon Colony Completes

San Francisco, California � The day after the completion of Earth�s first extraterrestrial colony on the moon, the Isolationist Party announced its stern opposition, stating that they will not allow the augmentation of exploration and extraterrestrial activities to occur.

The San Francisco-based party has always stood as a left-leaning party that, since its creation in 2036, has opposed the exploration of space with staunch force. Oddly enough, their bedfellows, the Oceanic Church of Christ, has thrown their support to the party, believing that it is not man�s place to invest in space.

Conservative Party Chairman James O�Reilly countered the Isolationist Party�s statements, stating, �Space has much to offer the Terran population, both in terms of much-needed natural resources, as well as diplomatic opportunities.�

Liberal Party member Ben Bockenfeld, Viceroy of the American Provinces, formerly the United Provinces of America, concurred with the chairman, releasing a statement this afternoon citing the numerous benefits that space has to offer.

Even so, with a strong support base, the Isolationist Party, which has five seats of representation in the Congressional Assembly, does have an impact on world politics, however small it may be.

Tensions have risen between the majority of Earth and the party since the program�s announcement in 2042. As the Isolationist Party becomes more radicalized, analysts fear, there may be greater problems on the horizon for the government, and people, of Earth to deal with in the coming years.


First Interstellar Spaceship Begins Construction
Sunday, September 30th, 2051


Pacific Grove, California � Chancellor-elect Juan Lopez (Liberal, Mexico) announced today the commencement of the construction, after six years of plan and design time, of Earth�s first interstellar spacecraft, the Star Voyager, the first of a new Exploration line of interstellar starcraft.

�This will be a day long remembered,� he touted, �and it will bring upon a new age for the People of Earth--an age that will change our planet drastically, for the better.�

Lopez also stated that several billion dollars will go to the project, concerning the Isolationist Party, which has held more than twenty protests across the world since January, and, to a far lesser extent, the Conservative Party, which believes that much of the focus of space should be carried out by private industry, not government programs.

And yet despite this common ideology amongst conservatives, Conservative Party chairman James O�Reilly declared his approval of the program, stating that it is more than necessary that we �engage in the exploration the final frontier that is space.� He has been working for some time now to have his party adopt the Liberal Party platform of more monetary support for the United Earth Space Agency, but, though he has increased support for the change, the chairman has failed to convince enough party officials to adopt the policy.

�Unfortunately the party firmly believes, as a majority, that government space efforts should not be significant, and that the future of space belongs in the hands of private enterprise,� O�Reilly said at a press conference last month. �While I do agree that private enterprise needs to continue to explore the numerous fields of opportunity that space has to offer, I also feel that government involvement in this endeavor is necessary, so that we may successfully explore the far-reaches of space and have true diplomatic relations with people from other worlds.�

Both he and Liberal Party chairman Hernando Garcia have expressed their hopes that the Star Voyager mission will be a success.

With a commission year planned to be 2061, the Exploration line of United Earth Space Navy �starcraft,� of which the Star Voyager is one, is, without a doubt, the most difficult space endeavor yet, even more so than the Atlantis Station project.

Starcraft Star Voyager Set to Launch Tomorrow

Atlantis Station � Earth�s first interstellar spacecraft, dubbed the Star Voyager by the United Earth Space Navy, is set to launch tomorrow, after eleven years of production time.

Space Navy Director of Fleet Operations James T. Kirk announced the launch at 9:00 this morning, Colorado time, listing off the members of the crew and discussing, for the first time, the details of the mission.

The mission will be lead by Commander James Wesley Azzar, veteran of the Tarhesian Military Conflict, the Oceanic Navy, of which he is ranked Captain, and the United Earth Space Agency. His father, Michael Wesley Azzar, was the Apollo Star mission�s pilot in 2028, and worked on the Atlantis Station Project.

First Officer Kiyraesyn Chapman has a credited record as well, as does the rest of the Command Crew, which is expected to return successfully after their two-year planned mission.

The �starcraft,� dubbed the Star Voyager, began construction at its design location, the United Earth Space Agency Headquarters in the Cheyenne Mountain Complex of Colorado. After only three years of production, when there was much to be done, it was decided that it was all but necessary to continue production in space, at the Atlantis Station. And so the craft, in a specialized capsule and state taking two years to build (as well as to construct additional facilities on the station), was launched to Atlantis.
There the Star Voyager underwent several more years of construction and testing, and in now, after years of designing and construction the first interstellar starcraft was complete.

A commencement ceremony will occur at Atlantis Station just prior to the launch tomorrow, with Director of Fleet Operations for the Space Navy, James T. Kirk, currently at the Houston Space Center in a meeting with officials at that location, in attendance.

Reacting to this week�s announcement, Chancellor Lopez, who cannot run for a third Chancellorial term this election, reiterated his statement from the original announcement date of the program, proclaiming that the launch of the Star Voyager is the launch of a �new age for the people of Earth.�

The Chancellor will join UESA Chief Administrator Russ Armstrong, great-great nephew of the famous Neil Armstrong of the infamous Apollo 11 mission, at Agency Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Chancellorial candidate James O�Reilly, formerly the Chairman of the Conservative Party, praised the week�s events, as well as the UESA and Navy, for its staunch success.

O�Reilly has pushed, since he became chairman of the party, for a switch in policy towards more support for the space program. He has managed to achieve much of it, with some minor party policy adjustments, but not nearly to the extent for which he has hoped. A staple of O�Reilly�s Chancellorial campaign, however, does revolve around the space program, believing in its continued support, not the contrary.

Other political issues have further arisen as the Isolationist Party becomes increasingly stringent on its anti-�expansionist� policies, those of expansionism into the outer reaches of space.

Isolationist Party Chairman and Chancellorial candidate Jacob Schmidt has released organizational plans to protest in Colorado Springs tomorrow, outside the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, as well as outside the Houston Space Center, over the launch. In his release this afternoon Schmidt stated, �The Isolationist Party will not stand for increased activities in space. We will not allow for further expansionist activities to continue by the people of Earth.�

The Isolationist Party�s official interstellar policy addresses the space issue, their primary issue of contention, saying that it �will not permit the exploitation of space when there remain issues to be dealt with at home, on Mother Earth.�

This is leading political analysts even further into the belief that the continued proliferation of space exploration programs, and the anger of the Isolationist Party, may very well result in �more intensive acts of discontent,� as quoted from leading political analyst J.W. Weinberg. One result, Weinberg fears, may very well be violence, something that both major political parties stand firmly against.

And yet despite these political troubles at home, it is quite clear that the Interstellar Revolution is no longer just on the horizon, but nearing reality.

The space shuttle Americana , one of the two shuttlecraft used by Atlantis Station for high-ranking UESA officials, lurked slowly in the direction of the massive space station in orbit as Commander James Wesley Azzar, Commanding Officer of the Starcraft Star Voyager, the first interstellar spacecraft known to and developed by man, read through the articles that displayed themselves on the small display screen of his Portable Access Computer Console, or PACC, the latest in Pocket PC technology, specifically issued for UESA personnel.
He was amazed at how much had happened within merely a decade over a half-century. Two score and two years ago the Organization of United Earth States was formed, out of the ashes of a dramatic World War, the most deadly war ever to be witnessed on the Earth, killing two billion people and ending the independent state of Israel as it was once known, dwindling the planet�s Jewish population down to a sadly far greater number than before.
Now, at this point in time, very few Jews remained, much to the despair of the Jewish community, of which James Azzar was not. He was of the Catholic community; however, the Catholic community faced persecution as well, when Italy was conquered by the Islamic Union. The Catholic leadership was executed, and all seemed lost for the faith, and all would have been lost, were it not for the acts of the remaining Cardinals, which kept the faith alive and well.
Azzar never lost his faith, even as a child learning about the evils of the horrible acts of the Islamic Union, a radical imperium of terror, evil, hatred, and Jihad.

The commander looked to his left at an Agency employee beside him, in a Space Agency uniform, as opposed to his Navy Commander�s uniform. �The history of this century is amazing, isn�t it?� Azzar remarked to the man, a black African from Rwanda.
�Yes it is, sir,� the man replied.
�I mean, the conflict we endured; the amazing World Peace Pact, signed and all; the start of a new world organization�Amazing advancements in space technology, striking reworkings of space programs, a massive space station, a moon colony, and now this first interstellar spacecraft. As the media like to put it, we truly are in a Space Revolution, or, rather, an Interstellar Revolution.�
The Rwandan man smiled pleasantly in response. �I, too, am amazed at the advancements we�ve made in such a short time, sir. We live in quite a time period.�
�It�s fascinating how, after a devastating world war, we could rebuild so quickly, so solidly, and advance so far technologically. Our century�s history truly is a wonder to behold.� He sighed. �World peace was something our forefathers only dreamed about. Who would�ve thought that in the year 2020 world peace would not only be achieved, but world unity would as well?� He shook his head. �I�m glad that we can live in this day and age where space really is our foucs.�

Meanwhile, in the shuttle�s cockpit, the Americana�s pilot, also its CO, was sitting in his pilot�s seat, contacting the station.
�Atlantis Station,� the shuttle�s pilot stated through his communication console, �this is ST-321, code name Americana. Please prepare docking procedures.�
�Roger that, Americana. Please transmit your clearance code for secure passage.�
�Copy that, Atlantis,� the pilot replied. �Transmitting clearance code for secure passage.�
�Secure passage will be permitted when we have confirmation of your code transmission. Stand by.�
The space shuttle flew steadily closer as it waited for a response. �You are clear to proceed.�
�We�re starting our approach.�
The pilot then turned to the officer sitting behind him and to the right, ordering him to let inform the Commander that they had arrived.

On the Earth-orbiting station the officer who had communicated with the Americana turned to face a Lieutenant standing nearby him. �Commander,� he said to his superior officer, a man with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. �Commander Azzar�s shuttle has arrived.�
�Is it about to dock?� the station�s commanding officer inquired. �Yes, sir. I have already received confirmation of their code transmission.�
The Lieutenant Commander then nodded, turning and stating to an officer from behind, �Inform Lieutenant Commander Chapman that Commander Azzar�s shuttle has arrived.�
�Yes, sir,� the officer replied, nodding and turning behind him to alert the Star Voyager�s first officer of the arrival of her commanding officer.

There was no doubt in the minds of all the station�s officers that the Interstellar Revolution, as the media had christened it, was about to begin�

The corridors of Atlantis Station buzzed with the voices and footsteps of officers, civilians, and techs working harder than ever to secure for the arrival of the shuttlecraft Americana. On this shuttle happened to be the Commander of the Star Voyager, whom Kiyraesyn would be working alongside for the duration of its interstellar flight and mission.

Kiyraesyn headed through the busy corridor and into a transport shaft to make her way toward Docking Bay Alpha, as it was her duty as Commander Azzar's right hand [wo]man to officially welcome him back to Atlantis Station. It had been several years now since she had last seen Jay, as she used to affectionately used to call him. As she made her way out of Command Central and over to DBA, she reflected on the fact that very few people were ever able to get so close to the Commander that they could call him Jay, as it wasn't even taken from his first name; rather, his second or middle name.

Kiyraesyn and Commander Azzar had been inseparable, trusting each other implicitly in all things. She recalled how she felt when they had butt heads on a certain matter years ago, but Jay had still heard her out and took her advice, even though he had his own conflicting opinions. It took an extraordinary amount of trust for a man like James Wesley Azzar to achieve such confidance in another person.

The XO stepped over to a window and watched as the Americana made its way into her range of visibility, swiftly and radiantly. Her heart began to beat more quickly with each passing moment as she waited to receive the Commander.

The space shuttle Americana neared the station ever-closer. As it did so, Commander James Wesley Azzar's thoughts drifted toward the thought of rejoining Kiyraesyn Chapman once again. She was one of the few people that Azzar felt that he could trust explicitly, and one of the few people that he permitted an...unorthodox nickname from.
He and Chapman were good friends some time ago, and he had grown to trust the woman significantly. He greeted the news that she would be his First Officer on board the Star Voyager with pleasant surprise and anticipation. The man could think of no better choice than Kiyraesyn Chapman as his XO--his XO on the first mission of its kind, the very first interstellar exploration mission.

The Americana arrived at the station, docking bay doors now open, and entered the bay. The shuttle landed carefully, no other beings inside the bay, and, after entering, watched as the doors to Docking Bay Alpha closed tightly. The bay was then repressurized, and it was time to disembark from the ship.

Commander Azzar stood and grabbed the bag that housed few of his belongings. Most of his belongings were already on the ship, packed in a few bags and suitcases. They, like the bags of the rest of his Command Staff, were moved up to the station yesterday on board a cargo shuttle. The luggage was then removed and placed inside each officer's respective cabins.
James Wesley Azzar, usually called Jim by most of his close friends, smiled slightly as he reached the door to leave the craft. He was feet away from the station from which he would make history. And he was only hours away from the launch that would make history--a launch of which he was honored with the command.
The Commander exited the shuttle, his one bag in his right hand, wearing his Space Navy Commander's uniform.
Upon exiting the craft the commanding officer looked around in amazement at the massive size of the docking bay of which he was in. It was amazing how quickly the human race had advanced, and how far they had come to develop not only this station, but the Star Voyager as well.
He was absolutely thrilled to be in the bay, and anticipated his first glimpse of the starcraft that he would soon have rights to call his own.
Excited, Azzar glanced around at the bustling activity of the station's crew, fixing up other craft in the bay and whatnot.
The man looked around the bay for Chapman, the friend he had not seen in some time and was to be his second-in-command.

Laurent quietly surveyed his surroundings. They were... bland. They were... boring...
Laurent stared down at the goop on his plate.
It was... bland... and... boring...
He started to realize just how much decorations had to do with the food bieng served, so he reminded himself to keep up a stock in things to spiff up the new mess hall.
Glaring at the chef, Laurent sighed.
"Hey! You. What the he-double hockey sticks is your problem?" the chef asked him.
Laurent's eyes narrowed to almost razor-thin.
"I am Laurent Van den Haus, world famous chef, and you DARE serve me that crud?" He replied.
"That's standard crew mess food. Even world class chefs don't have the rights to make more than this." The chef smart-mouthed back.
Laurent sighed inwardly, at his choice to be a pacificist. Had it been his choice, he would have been raised exactly the same, but as a warrior, not a chef. If that had been the case, this chef would be headless.
As he stood there, arguing with the chef, his mind wandered back to the day... back when he was training as a defender... back when religion mattered... not that his religion was known in any computer database, but...One day specifically stood out... the day he almost decided to enlist in warrior training...

Laurent watched a younger version of himself sitting there, hiding his copy of "Warrior training" handbook inside this weeks cookbook.
Stopping just long enough to notice that the breeze had cut down a little.
He stared off into the clouds, noting that there were only two.
A light one that almost looked like... a frying pan... oddly enough... the other one was just dark.
The wind blew across, harder than it had in the past ten years...
He saw the bright green birch leeves, although, some, spiting summer, even though it was only August, were daring enough to turn gold, or red, blew about.
His hair ruffled, although he pretended not to notice.
The wind lasted a short minute or so... then faded away.
He stared back at the clouds.
The light cloud, still appearing to be a frying pan, was edging ever close to the dark cloud... which almost appeared... to be... a wolf... the sign of the warrior...
...he looked down at the ground... and saw his books.
Both of them.
At his feet.
To the left, the copy of Warrior Training, under the dark cloud, and the cook book, under the lighter one.
He sat there, and looked up.
He grabbed the cook book, and got up, to walk away.
Just as he turned, he heard the wind blow fiercely behind him.
Turning, he watched the book dissapear into the winds, and the darker cloud blow away as well...

Atlantis Station; Mess Hall

Laurent snapped out of it, just as he put a big spoonful of goop in his mouth.
It tasted...well....
...bland... and kind of boring.
He sighed.
Staring through the viewports, he watched the shuttle Americana drift into sight.
With a smile, he got up, tray still full of goop, deposited the tray, upside down, on the chef's head, and went to go meet his new captain.
He had been hoping that his captain was nearly as cool as the admiral had said... although the admiral never mentioned genders on any of the crewmates he'd have to cook for.
"hey!" The station chef yelled, just as he turned down the hall, and dissapeared in the direction of the launch bay.
Silently, Laurent felt sorry for the poor saps who had to eat that day in and day out.
Not even realizing he was passing someone in the halls, he muttered "I promise you guys that you will never have to eat that kind of crap as long as you are in MY galley."
The crewman walking by muttered "lucky bastards" as he walked along, obviously sick of the slop he was forced upon every day.

Nathasya looked to the large appartment infront of her. A few days ago, she got a letter from her little brother. With the letter in her left hand, she slowly walked to the entrance.

"Yes?" A man infront of the building asked her in Russian. Nathasya quickly responded. "I am searching for Ivan Plevko. Do you know where i can find him?" Nathasya said, also in Russian. The man nodded. "Inside." The man said with it's rude Russian voice.

"Thank you." Nathasya said. She walked to the door, but the man stopped her. "Why are you searching for him?" The man asked rude. Nathasya looked to the man who was blocking her way. "I am his sister, Nathasya Plevko." She said, while pushing away the man's arm.

The man nodded and let her go inside. When Nathasya entered the building a lot of noise was coming from above. Nathasya walked to the stairs and began to climb it. She opened for the second time the letter and looked in it.

Don't ask me how i find you, since that is a painfull memory and i'm happy i found you anyway. Kathrina died yesterday.. Mum is very upset with it and she wished that you where here. That is why i am telegramming you. I still hope you know where we live. We miss you..

Nathasya now moved towards the door infront of her. A loud noise was coming from behind it and Nathasya could swear hearing Nikola. She knocked on the door and everything went silent. "Who is there?!" Nathasya heard the voice of Petrov, her oldest brother.

Nathasya smiled. "Open the door, Petrov. It's Nathasya!" Nathasya said loud, so everyone could hear it. A loud noise was heard from behind the door. "Nathasya! Yay! Nashya!" The door opened really fast and Petrov jumped in Nathasya's arms, who didn't suspected it and felt to the ground. Immediatly all her other brothers and sister rushed over and began to hug her. She heard an old voice saying loud that everybody had to get off her. When all her brothers and sisters where standing up, she saw her mother in the doorpost crying.

"Nathasya.." She said, while Nathasya walked to her and gave her a big hug. "Let's go inside" Nathasya said. The others nodded and they all entered the small house.

James smiled excitedly at the woman who was to be his executive officer as she approached him in greeting.
The two had not seen each other for some time now, and yet it seemed as though it was just yesterday that the terror attack on the Main Arrival Platform at OUES HQ occurred, threatening his life and that of her husband. The blast killed Kiyraesyn�s husband but did not eliminate an injured James. He was the person who delivered the news to the wife of his best friend about his death, breeding a friendship that continued on to today.
�I am good, my friend,� he said, shaking the hand of the excited woman. �How have you been? I couldn�t imagine better circumstances for this meeting.�

James led Kiyraesyn, whom he often affectionately called "Kay," as she called often him "Jay," ((fact is, that name's just too long )) onward. Though she was here longer than him, he knew the schematics of the station and therefore took the lead.

Roughly ten minutes later the duo arrived at the Atlantis Cafe, staffed by few compared to restaurants on Earth. The two sat at a two-person table and were greeted with a waiter.
"Hello, and welcome to the Atlantis Cafe, Commanders," he said, with a smile. "Can I get you both a drink?"
Being the gentleman that he was, James motioned to his friend to order first as opposed to taking the jump himself.

Kiyraesyn spoke up lightly. "I'll have a glass of iced tea, please..."she glanced back to James, 'I don't want anything too heavy, or I'm afraid I won't be of much use to you, Commander." and she laughed at this, a warm, friendly laugh.

The waiter simply nodded at the woman and looked at Azzar. He smiled at his first officer's comment and then spoke to the waiter. "I'll have a coke, please," he said.
The waiter nodded again, saying, "Alright. I'll be back in a minute." He smiled, turned, and headed away.
"So," Azzar began, with a smile, "what's new?"

Kay paused for a few moments, still arguing with herself over whether to open up this can of worms just before a mission. In the end, she knew what she had to do. She had to tell him now, or it would eat her up inside for the rest of their time together on this journey.
"James.........Jay........there's something we need to talk about...something I'm afraid you don't know because you've been away so long and out of communications range with my family and I...." Tears began to swell up, overshadowing her brilliantly blue eyes, pooling over them in grievous sadness. Still, she had to continue...this would be the first time in over a year, she had to say it. It was time to really embrace the healing process. "The found his body, James...after all this time...they found Luke's body..." The tears completely overwhelmed her...as though a floodgate had burst open.

James could only sit there, stunned. The man was one of his best friends, if not the best friend. "I...don't know what to say," he said, still dumbfounded. "I can say this...We can heal...together, on the ship, out in space, on this mission..." Not one to cry, James's eyes did begin to tear up, but not to such an extent. He thought they would never find the man's remains, but they did, and after years of waiting too. If only he could have been contacted sooner. Perhaps it would have been better for the both of them. The memories this brought up, the emotions...He wished not for them.
James reachd his hands out across the table and held hers. He said, sympathetically to his long-time friend, "It's alright...We can...get through this together." He realized that it had been at least a few months since the news broke, but she clearly wasn't over it, and nor could he be. He had gotten over the death of his friend after some time, but the news of the discovery of his remains was far more earth-shattering.
The waiter then came over to the table with the drinks. He set them down on the table and said, "Is there something wrong?"
James shook his head. "Nothing you need to be worried about," he said, kindly.
"Would you like to order now, or should I come back in a few minutes?" the waiter inquired.
"Please, return in a few minutes."
The man nodded, turned, and headed for another table in the not-so-busy space station restaurant.

A small smile found itself creeping over Chapman's lips. "You have no idea how much it means to me to hear you say that." She picked up a napkin and began to dry her eyes, finding small comfort in Azzar's words and kind gestures. "I....we...we tried to find you to let you know about the burial ceremony...I wanted you to be there so much, but they wouldn't contact you because you weren't immediate family. Not even a message...I know it's not my fault, but I feel as though you deserved that closure as much as I did...." She looked down to her hand, seeing James' own resting lightly and concernedly upon it.

Selena Redwall sat at a table in the far corner of the Atlantis Cafe, on the Atlantis Station, sipping at a steaming cup of coffee and reading a book entitled "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", by Ken Kesey, from the year of 1962. The book held a special place in her heart, seeing as she had wrote her thesis paper about the book in college, at the University of Calgary, in Canada.

As she neared the final page of the novel and the death of McMurphy and the escape of Chief from the institution, Selena noticed two high-ranking military officers enter the cafe. She recognized them as Commander James Azzar, the Commanding Officer of the Star Voyager and Lieutenant Commander Kiyraesyn Chapman, the Executive Officer of the Star Voyager.

It came as no shock to Selena to see the two enter the Atlantis Cafe. After all, the Star Voyager would be departing on her maiden voyage, to go boldly where no man has gone before, that very day. Selena, herself, would be onboard the Explorer-class Starcraft, serving as her doctor.

Selena had served as the Chief Medical Officer on Atlantis Station for three years. Because of her medical background and her experience in space, she had been chosen to join the Star Voyager team, to serve as the Chief Medical Officer of that very Starcraft.

Selena was honored to be chosen to partake in the two-year exploratory mission. She had always hoped to encounter exotic alien species, as any good doctor would. The thought of new species of humanoids, with completely different anatomies than that of humans, would surely peak the interest of any doctor, Selena included. While several of her colleagues believed that the thought of extraterrestrials was absurd, Selena strongly believed in their existence. Her father, Randle Redwall, had claimed that he had seen a Unidentified Flying Object, more commonly known as a UFO, during his youth, when he worked on his grandfather's farm. Like father, like daughter, Selena also believed in the existence of extraterrestrials, despite what others might think.

In any case, even if she didn't encounter one alien species during her mission, Selena would still be satisfied. A chance like this was a chance in a life-time.

Selena simply shrugged at the sight of the two officers, resuming her reading. Despite the fact that she had read the book several times, the ending had always brought a smile to her face, despite the book's darker tones.

Moments later, Selena had swiftly closed the book, upon finishing it for the umpteenth time, with a soft "thud". As she stood, Selena downed the rest of her now cold coffee and straightened her doctor's uniform; a teal and black jumpsuit with a teal overcoat. She placed a tip on the table, for the accomodating waiter, before she snatched up her book and swiftly making her way out of the cafe, nodding to the two officers, politely, as she did so.
