PostThu Jul 13, 2006 9:35 am    Which was the WORST Ds9 episode?

Personally, I'd go with 'Change of Heart' or 'Image in the Sand' What do you think

Change of Heart? No way. That episode was great.

Plus...Well, there is no "worst" episode of DS9. They all are great!

I kind of have to agree w/ La Forge. I can't think of any DS9 ep that I didn't like in some way. Some made me unhappy, Tears of the Prophets, but none were bad.

There were no bad episodes of DS9(IMO). Although, the most hated episode was the one where they went to Risa(I forgot the name). Not sure why, but it was.

"Let He Who Is Without Sin" or something or other, was the episode you were talking about. Hey. I liked it. It was one of the first episodes where you were really able to see how beautiful Jadzia was and you got to learn a little bit about Worf's childhood. Plus, these lines crack me up, when Leeta dumps Bashir.

Bashir: Cute?
Quark: Sexy?
Both: Rom?

I thought "Hard Time" seemed rather cliche. The whole alternate-alien-forms-of-punishment storyline is so over used in Trek.

I have to agree that there are not many bad DS9 episodes but one I did find hard to watch is the one where the O'Briens daughter is trapped on the planet by herself.

I think you needed to be emotionally a part of that one and I wasn't.

Move Along Home is up there but as I said the worst DS9 episode is still better than most , from any of the other series.

Move Along Home most definently. Also, the one with Lwaxana. I think I just hate any episode with her.

Definitely! must be! the worst Star Trek ever is Our Man Bashir

The whole episode was a farce, a waste of time and money.

Similarly, episode "Bada Bing, Bada Beng"

You may not like this episode, however it was a DS9 episode;
an alien from the Gama Quadrant is visiting the station and offering a new game based on new technology, I find it to be a story relevant to DS9.

But "Our Man Bashir" and "Bada Bing" are not DS9 or even Star Trek at all!

I loved "Badda Bing, Badda Bang," "Our Man Bashir," and ESPECIALLY "Change of Heart." Change of Heart is one of my favorite eps ever.

I'm not a big fan of "Move Along Home," or "Heart of Stone." Maybe Heart of Stone was good when it was aired, since no one then knew Odo loved Kira, but... I don't know. I didn't enjoy that episode at all.

These were classic Trek character driven episodes in a classic Trek setting, the holodeck. As Janeway once explained, fantasy allows people to explore different aspects of themselves by adopting new roles.

The holodeck episodes allow the characters to do just that: explore who they are in new ways. Their fantasies are windows into their souls. And the nature of the human (sentient) soul is an important theme in Trek.

Although I haven't seen seasons 1-3, I would probably say "Rapture" or "The Reckoning" are my least favorite... or pretty much any episode that was all about the Bajoran prophets...

Personally, I never liked DS9. It was too anticlimactic. Voyager is the series for me.

I dislike most of the Ferengi episodes simply because, in general, Ferengi annoy me and whenever I used to catch random episodes of DS9 it used to always be a Ferengi-based episode.

Wasn't too fond of the one where O'Brien thinks he's been in jail for a long time but really it was an embedded memory. And didn't like the one where Molly went through the vortex and became and 18 year old savage.

And I'm probably alone on this one, but I didn't like "Far Beyond the Stars." The concept was very good and it dealt with an important issue but it really wasn't a Trek episode. Trek may have a history of attempting to break down social barriers on television and deal with issues like those, but at this point in time they'd already been dealt with and I saw it as a pointless episode. The acting in it was very good, though.

Aryeh I think you do not really know what ST is all about if you did not like the two episodes you mentioned (because they were not trek orientated).

Both dealt with issues that trek are all about and in landscapes that we could recognise.

Bada bing dealt with issues of bullying or abuse in some manor (okay it was to a hologram) and when the abuse is recognised Vic's friends and clients come together to help stop the abuse, it is called doing something for your community or family.

OMB was a look at people who think the end justifies the means by which you reach it, a more relevant issue at this point in US history I can not think of.

While you quite rightly point out that the two episodes do not move the story along they are supposed to be stand alone episodes.

Perhaps one of the few DS9 Episodes I watched that I actually enjoyed... for said reason.
So I like the girls-in-short-skirts moments? Why do you think I prefer TOS?
