|
I've noticed us Star Trek fans are rather...critical of certain episodes...
Being in an RPG and having members pitch ideas to me, I see episode ideas that would be worthy of an episode on Star Trek. If you all could make an episode on ANY of the series shown, what would it be about?
DS9:
I'd have an episode where there was some involvment with the Borg. Sisko would be forced to face his past once more. Ben and Jake Sisko had such great episodes together that another would be GREAT. I loved their emotion in "The Visitor" and the episode where Mirror Universe Jennifer Sisko died and they bother weeped for a woman they loved, losing her a second time. Perhaps Jake would take it upon himself to find a way to hurt the Borg, but would endanger himself and Ben would have to rescue him?
VOY:
I'd have an episode where a Starfleet admiral contacts VOY and says that Janeway has commited rather atrocius acts while in command. A trial would be set up and we would be faced with all the questionable judgements that Janeway had made in the past. Instead of the hollywood ending, it would end with them saying that if Janeway returns to the Alpha quadrant, she would likely be demoted for what she's done and the only reason she would remain was because the crew would need it's captain.
Anyone else? It can be ANY ST show. Perhaps a missed oppurtunity?

DS9:
Similar to the DSG Episode, someone is sent to a future where the Dominion either HAVE won the war, are ARE winning the war (More so then what was done in DS9....)
Enterprise
Where to begin? There was SO much missed oppertunities due to the cancellation and other episodes being done. I'd have to get back to you on this.

Interesting. Rather than making one episode... I'd like there to be a new show, based on the Academy. I think it would be fun to see the cadets being trained and tested...

The Academy? And that would be boring. No more than 4 seasons for that series...granted, it's all that would be needed for it I guess...but it would suck. Personally, I don't want to see a bunch of newbie/know-it-all cadets running around Starfleet Academy day in and day out.

I disagree. It could run for 7 seasons just like any other show. Remember that whole thing about when some people are seniors, new freshmen come in and then they eventually become seniors? It'd be interesting to see how all the Starfleet Greats and Craps come to be through their experiences at the Academy. I'm sure there'd still be plenty of space adventures to be had when whats-their-faces go out on practice-drills-gone-wrong. And know-it-all cadets? How is that different from know-it-all Starfleet officers who think they're better than everybody?

You raise a valid point. But a Starfleet Officer has a commission. A starfleet officer has "earned," in a sense, his right to be a know-it-all...lol. They're not as green as a cadet...

But they once were. and that would be the interesting factor of the show. Seeing what kind of hell and whatnot they go through to earn that right to be the know-it-alls.

Eh...I see the point. I saw it long ago, and once thought that it wouldn't be all that bad of an idea...but the biggest problem, I think, would be finding a young group of actors that would WANT to do it...I mean, myself at 19 years old, 20 in Sept, would LOVE to do it! I mean, that would be the love of my life. But nowadays, Trek is almost dead to thsoe my age. Not completely, but it is. And you would first, have to find a GOOD enough young actor to do it. And a GOOD enough YOUNG actor that would actually take it seriously and not as a way of "Well, I'm only doing it to get discovered..." type of deal. That's my thinking on it...
So, yes you're right, it would be interesting. But the biggest problem is finding those special people...I would kill to do it. In case alot of you haven't picked up by now, I love to act, and would give almost anything to do it on Trek...

I don't know that it's dead to people our age. Check it.... I'm 20 too, I'm a theater guy and know lots of great actors this age. that's just what I know... and then there's those millions of other young actors....let's be optomistic here. I don't think producers would have any trouble... wait, nix that. Let's get new producers because the old ones (*cough*Braga*cough*) are crap. No problem.

I generally love episode that are different, so I would try and come up with something a little different.
You know like the epsiode that took place on Earth in the 1940's with the D.S.9 actors playing a staff of writers, the episode Lower Decks on TNG
Or the type of episode were you put characters in situations that are unlike anyhting they've tried before.
Picard being tortured by the Cardassians "How many lights?"
Garak torturing Odo in the Romulan Warbird.
Odo & Weyoun 6 on the run from Dominion Forces aboard a Runabout.
Sisko and his crew being stranded on a desserted panet with a group of Jem Hadar and the most immoral character I have ever seen on Star Trek... KEEVAN.

TNG
I would do an episode which actually showed a first contact mission (I know they showed us a glimpse but I want more ) which would be similar to the Crabon Creek idea from Enterprise.
DS9
I would love to do an episode which looked back at Garaks Obsidian Order career, and even his childhood as Tain's son.
VOYAGER
I would, as everyone would, like to see what the crew is now doing after thier return and I do not mean ten years ;later I mean the weeks and months folowing thier return.
ENTERPRISE
I would of loved to see an episode which dealt with the incident which caused the conflict with the Romulans and the creation of the Neutral Zone.
A MOVIE
I would like to see a movie which handed over the franchise from the TNG to DS9 and or Voyager cast. This can be done very easily and if the story is right it would be a blockbuster of a movie, but hey I am just a fan and the influencial people that make the decisions, do not listen to people like myslef.
