Personally i think they might be downplaying the illness, after all it is from the Cuban TV which is all propaganda.

Don't tell me you're a believer that we went to war for oil, now, Founder? Seriously, though, I do agree that at some point Cuba should be liberated. The evil reign of communism should end as quickly as possible.

Not that I don't think the citizens don't deserve to be liberated...but right now, I am more for hoping the government of Cuba dies a natural, self-inflicted death.

It is clear, however, that if Fidel dies his brother will take over, and it could be a longer road of dictatorial rule for the people of Cuba, suffering under the evils of Communism.

No, but it has been a habit of history that if a country has SOME type of resource, they do get precedence over others....
As for what RM said, hes completely right. Raul will simply continue the reign that Fidel had. It's a self destructive cycle. Trust me Puck, I WISH so MUCH that Cubans would revolt or somehow the government would collapse, but I don't see that happening. We kind of need outside intervention. I do agree that with Iraq, American can't afford it and that does make me kind of regret the Iraq thing a little bit.
As for Fidel regretting his life? I doubt it... Just a little while ago, he was meeting with Chavez and complaining about how evil America is and blah blah blah.

Let's hope we make good on that declaration. I'm willing to support almost any course of action, when the time is right, to end the evil reign of communism in Cuba.

John McCain is my favorite republican. He's not extremist, and is always kind. He wants democrats and republicans to work together, not fight each other.

Intriguing. I think we're going to see something big happen in Cuba sometime soon, like a, I don't know, power change?
WeAz, the evils of communism in China are turning away themselves as the Chinese government opens up And I don't like John McCain. He may be principled, but there are reasons to question his honesty that I've realized now and he's a backstabber. I wouldn't vote for him unless I had no choice (namely, if he won the primaries, which he won't, thank God).

First of all, guys, Fidel was never a communist. He chose to call himself a communist(marxist-leninist) to get the support of the U.S.S.R.
I, for one, would love to see a change in Cuba's regime(handing over power to Castro's brother doesn't really count). I think it's up to the working people of Cuba to decide where to go, without U.S or other outside intervention. Cuba is a unique oppurtunity, when Castro dies, the situation should be observed but not disturbed. The Cuban people will get their chance at democracy.
