I recently took general oceanography, since it was required... I really disliked the geology part. I had a good teacher, though, so it wasn't that bad. What is it you want to do in the field?

Goodmorning Kity! I'm alright, more tired than when I went to bed it seems but good. My summer semester ended yesterday so I am finally free to relax somewhat although I still have to work and study for exams in the fall, but that is stuff I can choose when I do a little bit more. How's your morning been?
And ya know what? I couldn't tell you what I want to do in any field of anything except that I love everything That made no sense. I really don't have a clue. I'm actually thinking I might drop the major and swich my second one to mathematical sceince, philosophy, or law. We'll see. My problem is I like everything, and I'm not particularly bad at anything, so I never know what I want to do. You know if I loved math but couldn't even do basic opperations that would rule it out, but pretty much the only things completely ruled out are buisness/advertising/marketing type things. I wouldn't enjoy that. But I love psychology, sociology, literature, philosophy, law, biology, geology, physics, (don't care too much for chem), music, drama, dance...which makes choosing...and sticking to, a major hard.

^I'm quite the same, except I adore chemistry. I chose to go into biomedicine, just because I wanted to do something substantial and futuristic. I could've just as easily been a lawyer... or a performer... or an author. But I'm 99% certain I've found what I want to stick with. Progress in science is way too fun to ignore.

Your right about that...but I also cannot stand not being able to perform and do the other things, there isn't one field it seems like I can live without... I wish I could be a professional student...just get a degree in everything, that would be a blast. Maybe I should just go get a degree in who-knows-what and then be a professor then I can still sorta take classes without being completely wierd.

Yesterday was no fun ... just boring. Today is going to be fun, I get to hang out with my best friend all day, which is a huge thing because he's been in Washington State since last thursday, and he lives about 50 miles away, so getting to see him is a huge deal.

Yayness!
For me it's going to be the reverse. Yesterday was fun, today's not going to be. Yesterday I spent all day at the beach with friends, today I have to organize and pack to go to Santa Barbara tommorow and then come back for a day on sunday and leave to go to Idaho for 3 weeks on Monday. I'm doing all the organizational bs for both trips today.

Hiya everyone!
(And Danni, I don't have IM anymore thats why It messes up my old computer. And I know you are, he already told me, I'll want to here about it from you though when I can.)
What I wanted to say is that I am out of town and will be for a while (end of august) so I wont be around, but I'm coming back I promise I just don't have reliable internet where I am.
As to what I've been up to..well I'm going to be a junior at the Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara in the fall studying Music and Geophysics (yes, I changed ) I was going to minor in dance but they don't offer a minor and I don't think I can handle doing a BM and BFA at the same time, nor do I think my parents would approve. I'm doing well, I've pretty much gotten myself together which is why I left. I needed to get myself in the right place emotionally. I'm finally at peace for the most part, there are a few things left (like body image) to work on, but I'm doing better. Body image is my basic weakness now (and again). It was when I was dancing (I was bulemic), now I'm again in a world that expects a certain physical 'perfection' if you will, and I don't want to end up as I did when I was dancing. It's why I had to stop. Danni, when I can I will want to talk to you more, I want to hear about what happened and I'm sorry you're not doing too well.

Hello there Sammies mammy
And hello Andrew (sorry, I didn't see your post before...but hello all the same!)
And well yes my major has changed lol... voice performance and GEOPHYSICS!!! It's easier. Well, for me anyway. No more oceanography. not that the oceanography was hard really but there were more class requirements and I just didn't have the room in my schedule. Geophysics has less requirements, that's what makes it easier. [I like them both I'm not really sacraficing anything by switching.]
Danni, are you out of the hospital?

Hello everyone!
I thought I might give an update. I'm studying music right now, though I might change that to theatre arts or dance...we'll see. I got sorta lost in my life right now and I don't know what I want. I'm in 2 plays right now. Well 1 play, 1 musical. Umm let's see... I'm taking:
Musicianship
Ethnomusicology
History of classical music (ie music in the 18th century)
Womens ensemble (vocal ensemble)
Piano
French
Ballroom dance

I guess I'm due for an update... lets see, I tried to come back but my schools firewall blocked the site. Since I just moved and have my own internet connection, I'm back.
I'm studying theatre and dance now, some music, still at UCSB. What else is new...I work as an actor, choreographer, and pupeteer... although I study oceanography and philosophy etc... still but only for myself rather then for a career. I'm 20...
