But due to certain copyrights and such, they couldn't use Locarno, so they created Tom Paris with a VERY SIMILAR background to that of Locarno... |
- I also heard that when they were casting for the character of Paris. They had in their minds an actor similar to McNeil. And when they couldn't find anyone else they decided to ask McNeil, himself. Though quite honestly if they wanted someone like him...why didn't they ask him in the first place?

I dunno... I never heard that they were trying to get another actor. I mean, I'm sure they interviewed and had other actors come in...but, I dunno...

arent we really talking about "Star Trek 6: the Undiscovered Country" in the opening scene right after Praxis exploded, where he DIDNT have the ears??? That wasnt in Generations |
Actually, it was in Generations...I know this from pure memory, but as a back up for those who are skeptical of my memory, I just watched the movie a few days ago. He was NOT a Vulcan, and the movie definitely WAS "Generations."... |
No, no, no,
The Praxis Explosion was ST6: TUC, Capt Sulu commanding the Excelsior...which is the episode being discussed that was on Voyager...and yes, Tim Russ was NOT a Vulcan in ST6
The beginning of GENERATIONS (the first TNG movie), was Cameron Frye commanding the Enterprise-B with Sulu's daughter at the helm, on the mission where Kirk "died"

I don't know much about Star Trek IV like I probably should...but what I do know is that Tuvok WAS under the command of Hikaru Sulu on the USS Excelsior, and that TIM RUSS made a guest appearance in Generations on the Enterprise-B as a HUMAN Lieutenant...
I think I understand what you were saying now. You were talking about one thing, and I was thinking of another thing...

He's Cameron in out hearts.
They should have had a scene where Ferris came in and asked him if he could borrow the ENT-B while skipping school.
"Ferris! No! Starfleet Command will kill me!"

I LOVED it when he made the CAMERON face to Kirk as Kirk started getting "itchy"....
"See if there are any other ships in the area, we're in no condition to mount a rescue..."
...(kirk gets up)...
...(Cameron Face)...
"We dont even have a full crew aboard"
that was priceless!
And VOYAGER2004, yes, we were thinking 2 different things, I was just trying to straighten out the topic so as to not confuse the two issues of Tim's 23rd century appearances in the films.
Personally I thought it a grave error that they made that episode - it was too great a stretch, too far to suspend any disbelief just to make another episode, that in my opinion, was mediocre at best.
