The Sisko=The Paradox?

If Sisko is half Prophet, as shown in season 7, why didn't the Prophets seem to know who or what he was in "Emissary"? Surely, they would recognize the champion they birthed to save Bajor and pretty much all of the Alpha quadrant....

Speaking of that episode...

The Prophets did not know about time until Sisko taught them about it. Yet, they created an Orb of...yep, you guessed it...time. How did they make something they didn't understand?

Is this a case of effect proceeding cause? Sisko taught them about linear time, then they made the orb, but deployed several thousand years ago?

Any ideas for either question?

I think you explained it well. If time has no matter, then years AFTER they learned of Liniear time, the could have made the Orb of time, then placed it when ever.

"Effect proceding cuase" that's pretty much it in this case, I think.

But it doesn't really make sense with Sisko's birth, only with the orb.

Why did they still not recognize Sisko? The only...guess I have is that they were testing him.

Maybe it was a test, and again, it could be the effect before the cause thing, with time making no differnce, and not mattering to them, maybe they did it like in the year 3000, and then sisko was born in 23-- etc... If time dosn't matter to you, then you can do it when ever you want to, and make the resualt happen when ever you want to.

Or it could have been a test like you said
