Well being as the only thing on the movie currently done is "Kirk and Spock in the academy days" the poster I guess, fits... (Though if thier students, the colors are wrong)

So much for a DS9 movie. Back to the craptastic days of Kirk. Only this time, we wont be getting Shatner.

Preeeeeety much. I am wondering what's wrong with them. Kirk and spock in the academy, and yet, the poster contains the Enterprise Delta Logo, and starfleet division colors (Wrong one for the Academy)

Hmm not familiar with all that. Maybe it isn't the Academy or it will only have flashbacks to the academy. The rest is during the part you're talking about.

This totally sucks. Whoever's idea this was, needs to be shot and buried. They're getting EXTREMELY retarded with this now! I mean, it doesn't really bother MUCH that they're not continuing on after the "Nemesis" timeline, but what bothers me is that they're going to the Academy days of two loved characters...It's stupid...

Because, we all know how funny Kirk talked on the show, right? (This is the actor's side of things I'm looking at now...) I believe, that as an actor, Shatner made Kirk talk like that for a REASON! That Kirk for some reason or another, talked like that...

But instead, we're now going to get some stupid retarded young idiot that's not going to give a whoopin-hollar about that. He's just gonna do it because "That's what I remember William Shatner doing on the show!" Therefore getting rid of the entire purpose that Shatner had for allowing his character to talk like that...

I dunno, but it's just stupid...from an actors point of view, it's stupid to go into the younger days of two already WELL established characters...

Now that I'm off my high-horse...LOL

I agree with you completely Voyager2004(we've been doing that a lot lately, what the hell is going on!? )

They're going back to Kirk and Spock days in a weak attempt to gain the older fans back. They know TOS is probably the most popular. The problem is, these idiots don't get it Kirk and Spock are nothing without Shatner and Nimoy...

Ya, we have been agreeing alot, lately...lol...

Ya, they're nothing without the originals...it just totally sucks...now what I just described above is from my POV as an ACTOR, not my POV as a TREKKIE...lol...

I still don't want a movie that is "pre-Nemesis," but I am open to that possibilitie with something like the Eugenics War, or the Romulan War...something that we know happened, but haven't seen. That's my POV as a Trekkie...at least part of it...

I don't like the idea of a younger Kirk and Spock, not one bit, especially considering how wrong it will be...
I'll still see it, but yeah. Not too happy.

Oh, I'll definitely see it as well, just because it's Trek...but I agree...I am not, and will remain unhappy through the completion of this unfortunate event...

The good thing is, though, the director-producer guy is supposedly a big Trek fan, so maybe he'll do it right.

But as Founder said, "He didn't get much into anything after TOS..." So he can't be that big of a Trek Fan...IMO...

I don't really care either way with this. It seems a little strange based on ENT failure to go about it this way. However, TMP is still the highest selling Trek movie, so it makes sense as far as that goes. I'm sure that most Trek fans will be seeing this, no matter what.

Well John Logan the writer of Star Trek Nemesis was supposed to be a huge trekkie, and look how that movie did

I would give anything to know what's going on inside the producers/directors head.

Haha. Agreed.

The prequel garbage is like some kind of...fad now. I'm getting sick of it. Did they not see how ENT failed? This is their weak, pathetic, and stupid attempt to lure the old fans and the non fans in by showing everyone Star Trek's proverbial flag figures, Kirk and Spock.

My only hope with this future abysmal failure is that they'll learn their lesson and won't attempt it ever again...

BTW? For anyone who asks "What if the movie ends up being a box office hit?" I'll still dislike it. Why? A) TOS time bores me. B) All of us have been waiting to find out what happened to the TNG/DS9/VOY crews. Now, with this, we'll probably never know.

So either way, this movie will p**s me off.

Someone needs to start a lengthy petition that will actually get to Paramount. Then maybe they'll do the right thing and make a DS9 movie, or something like that.

The question is - how would we actually go about doing that? There are two options: online petition and a physical paper petition.

Problem with online one: people don't like putting personal info online, it's easy to add fake signatures, and people who sign it don't take is seriously (adding mock signatures and stuff)

Problem with real one: How do fans get to it? People online don't want anyone knowing their address for mailings.

The best solution might be conventions, have a petition there and have the filled out sheets sent to a single person who mails it to Paramount.

In the meantime I'll start tuning the bagpipes...
