I thought the movie was pretty good.

However, I thought it was far too long, it seemed to drag on and on and on. It never felt like it was going to end.

Apart from the length it is a great movie. Go see it!

I would see it if it weren't for Johnny Depp. My dad and I refuse to watch any of his movies, and we own the first one (which I haven't seen).

That being said, in the poll, did you mean E or F?

I saw the first movie and I liked it. Although I'm not a real Depp fan, I really like his character in these two movies.

You can count on me seeing it

We're not merely not-fans. We dislike him with a passion is what we do.

Personal and political reasons. We believe him to be anti-American. But this gets us too off topic--a topic about the movie, not Depp--so I'm done.

I want to go see it! But once again, my lack of financial stability gives me a kick in the head.

I thought that this was a pretty good movie, and I agree that some of the scenes dragged on for too long an amount of time to hold interest. Also, the plot seemed kind of confused from time to time. Otherwise, it was well made and the acting was of course really good.

I voted 'B.'

Yeah, but the plot of the last one was a little weird at times too. Like I was confused as to why Jack wasn't dead at the end.
Anyway, the ride at eurodisney kicks butt compared to the film.

I thought the movie was very good, but I gave it a B just because of it's length and the fact that it was a cliff hanger at the end. Plus I still like the first movie the best just because it's the first one. But the 2nd one was VERY good. Especially for a sequel.

I gave it an A, not because of Johnny Depp cause I can't stand the guy. I love Orlando Bloom.... Is the reason lol

I felt like the movie was kind of a waste of my time. 3 hours of pirates, who I'm usually a huge fan of, jumping around the boat and nothing really got acchomplished. I guess you could look at it as a sort of connection movie between the first and third, but then you think of all the other "2nd"s....X2, Spiderman 2, LotR2 etc, something was actually accomplished that helped characters and storylines grow, but not in this one. That really annoyed me. there was a lot that could have been cut that was useless, it was too long. Ever the fan of Johnny Depp, I enjoyed his part, but Kira Knightley's underbite was still ever so distracting and Orlando Bloom seemed still glad to make an ass of himself. Eh. 3 slightly beating hearts out of five.

I thought is was fun. It was entertaining, didn't break character from the first film (didn't go into quite as much depth, but didn't break), and drew well from the first film.

Overall, considering the fact that it was a (previously) unplanned sequel from a surprise boxoffice hit- they did a good and entertaining job

So... was it kinda like the matrix reloaded? Pointless actions sequences?

exactly. That movie (reloaded) was so ridiculous... this is why I have little faith in Pirates 3.

I thought that a lot of stuff happened. There couldn't really be that large of connection to the first one since by the end of movie they had already tied up all the loose ends. However, they did make some connections via Commodore Norrington and those two pirates that were previous members of the Black Pearl's crew. Connections between the first and second films aside, in the third they have to get the heart, most probably get revenge against Norrington and the East India Trading Company, rescue Jack, and work with Barbosa.

I thought that they accomplished a lot, although I do agree that some scenes were superfluous.

We ended up seeing it, my dad and myself included, as much as I didn't want to see a JD movie. I thought it served its purpose--that of entertainment. That's pretty much it.
I'm not sure whether to give it a C or a B.

What other purpose should a movie about pirates have?

A political one? Basically, I felt it entertaining, little more.

A movie about pirates and...politics? Uh, no, my friend. That doesn't make sense. People go to movies (for the most part) to escape reality/enter a new world, to avoid the daily troubles of the real world. I don't want to go to a movie about PIRATES to hear about politics. I hate politics, especially politics as of late. You can't let politics control your life.

I was just saying that it could be another purpose, though it wasn't in this movie.

... You scare me. It's a Disney movie about Pirates and undead creatures and such, and you want politics involved? Yeah, I won't bank on the third one having much politics, either.

Actually, I don't want politics involved, and I'm glad it wasn't. I don't know where you're all getting this. All I was doing was responding to the statement, "What other purpose could a movie about pirates have?" I know there was no political purpose to PotC, and I'm glad there wasn't. I was just saying. My God.
