The Enterprises all keep at NCC- 1701, a, b, c, d, etc... But other ships don't seem to follow the rule. The ST:OS Farragut is NCC-1647, and the USS Farragut in Generations is NCC-604957- I know Enterprise is the flagship, but I'm still confused! Also, what was the last Constitution-class ship to be retired

Its the classes, the first 2 enterprises where constitution class. By then the Enterpise was already legendary so they kept the same code. However only 1 ship called the Farragut was Constitution, much later came a second one.

Yeah. You can have more than one ship, Not at a time though, but different registry numbers. The registry numbers are just that, for a registry. To keep tabs of the ships and classes and such. Like my Submarine's registry number is "SSBN 730." But one of my friend's Submarine's registry number is "SSBN 737."

But in the case of Star Trek, to continue a ship and it's numbers just shows...hmm...what does it show? LOL...I had this figured out a while ago...I'll definitely get back to ya...

Yeah, the '1701' was kept to honor the crew/ship, as alot had been done for the Federation by them.

They saw the A, B, and depending on who lived long enough (McCoy for example) D, E.

usually just names are reused, but differnt regidtry number
